Abstract

The energy crisis has stimulated scientists to begin developing the concept of zero energy building through residual energy conservation and turn it into something useful, One of them is the use of ethanol in PEM fuel cells are obtained through distillation. To change the temperature Ethanol and can be destilled, will be designed heat exchanger that has a function : raising the temperature of ethanol in order to evaporates with intermediate high temperature water, and then lowering the temperature back pure ethanol with low-temperature water heat convection. ‘Spiral Tube In Pipe’heat exchanger is designed to transfer heat that brought by ethanol with the temperature  80 C  to the cooling water in a spiral tube wrapped with a pipe. Hopefully, through this method can achieve maximum heat transfer value, with low cost on ethanol output temperature 35 C. The basic principles in the development of this heat exchanger are the achievement of maximum heat transfer, Simple in design  and economic value.Tube material made of copper wich has good conduction coefficient. Water pipes made ​​of PVC plastic gutter is easily available and cheap. Minimum pipe size is designed to be more flexible, easily placed anywhere and is simple to maintain. In this paper also included a CFD simulation to determine the flow characteristics that occur along the copper tube. Abstract

Energy conversion material is material that requires a more detailed and broad understanding and explanation of the material. To be able to improve students' understanding, a discovery learning model teaching material is needed through a scientific approach oriented to problems related to real life. The purpose of this study is to produce teaching materials that are valid, practical and effective in the field. This type of research is research and development  with a 4-D (four-D) development model. The subjects of this study were students of class X Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering Vocational High School 1 Padang. The instruments used were validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning achievement tests.The results obtained from this development research are as follows: (1) Generating teaching materials for discovery learning models through a scientific approach. (2) The results of the analysis of the validity of teaching materials to experts obtained an average of 0.910> 0.667 with a valid category, (3) The results of the practicality analysis of teaching materials from the teacher's response were 87.33% with a very practical category and students' responses were 91.26% with a very practical category (4) The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of teaching materials are assessed from the results of the pretest and posttest, the gained score is 0.59 in the medium category. The study provides evidence that discovery learning model teaching material through scientific approach is valid, practical and effective to use.

Abstract

Problems in the implementation of apprenticeship students in the Nautika Kapal Niaga expertise in SMKN 2 Painan students include the difficulty of adjusting the apprenticeship schedule to the shipping industry, the lack of competence with student work opportunities has an impact on the low ability of students after implementing internship. Research methods are quantitative research methods and qualitative research methods whose use is adjusted to the desired data needs to answer research questions. Research respondents are each party involved in carrying out internship and 40 students. The instrument for qualitative research uses interview guidelines and specific observation guidelines for prakerin preparation data, while quantitative research data uses questionnaire instruments, learning outcomes tests and rubric of practical learning outcomes assessment. The results showed that 1) Formative evaluation related to the assessment of the implementation process of the apprenticeship in preparation of the apprenticeship had good results, the assessment of the implementation of teacher assignments (77%) was in the medium category and the industry supervisor (63%) was in the poor category, students' perceptions on the application of the teacher's tasks 69 % and industry advisers 66%, meaning that improvements still need to be done because they have moderate (sufficient) value. The results of the study on the assessment of the scope of work carried out by apprenticeship activities carried out by students 82% with good categories at stage I, 83% with good categories at stage II, 80% with good categories at stage III, 67% categorized as being at stage IV and 62% categorized poor in stage V, the overall average score is at an average of 74% in the medium category, 2) summative evaluation related to the assessment of the results of the perceived apprenticeship in the realm of attitude the overall average score in the learning outcomes of the realm of attitude is 72% in the medium category, the realm psychomotor practice 1 with an average of 80 and practice II with an average of 83, the value of good category and students declared competent in practice, in the cognitive realm obtained an average of 71.20 this score is still below the KKM in the cognitive domain that is 75, cognitive learning outcomes indicate that students' cognitive abilities still need to be improved.Keywords: Internship, Formative Evaluation, Summativ Evaluation

Abstract

Ventilasi merupakan unsur penting untuk menjaga kualitas udara yang baik di dalam sebuah bangunan. Namun, penggunaan ventilasi yang berlebihan menyebabkan tingginya konsumsi energi dari sistem HVAC. Standar ASHRAE telah memberikan aturan bahwa laju ventilasi tergantung dari banyaknya penghuni dan luas ruangan di dalamnya. Oleh karena itu kuantifikasi populasi penghuni perlu diketahui sebagai acuan sebuah kontrol ventilasi. Pada penelitian ini, jumlah penghuni diestimasi menggunakan metode Bayesian MCMC berdasarkan level CO2 di dalam ruangan. Persamaan kesetimbangan massa CO2 digunakan sebagai model perhitungan Bayesian MCMC. Pengujian metode Bayesian dalam mengestimasi jumlah penghuni diaplikasikan pada sebuah ruangan kantor skala kecil berukuran 96,7 m3 yang dilengkapi dengan sistem ventilasi, sehingga estimasi penghuni dan kontrol ventilasi dapat dilakukan secara bersamaan. Pengujian juga mencakup kontrol ventilasi konvesional menggunakan level CO2 secara langsung tanpa mengkonversinya menjadi jumlah penghuni. Laju ventilasi berdasarkan jumlah penghuni pada ruangan pengujian mengacu pada standar ASHRAE 62.1. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa kontrol ventilasi berbasis pada estimasi jumlah penghuni menggunakan metode Bayesian berhasil dilaksanakan dengan nilai laju ventilasi per penghuni lebih mendekati standar ASHRAE 62.1 dibandingkan dengan ventilasi metode konvensional.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang hubungan persepsi siswa dalam metode mengajar guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa yang di latar belakangi pada masalah masih kurangnya perhataian, tanggapan dan respon siswa terhadap materi yang disampaikan oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif bersifat korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI Program Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan SMK 8 Padang yang berjumlah 45 siswa. Jenis analisis data yang digunakan teknik adalah teknik analisis korelasi Product Moment. Hasil dari analisis di peroleh (1) koefisien korelasi r hitung (0,957) > r tabel (0,355) serta t hitung (17,769) > t tabel (1,699) pada taraf signifikansi 5%, (2) koefisien korelasi r hitung (0,964) > r tabel ( 0,355) serta t hitung (19,522) > t tabel (1,699) pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa persepsi siswa dalam metode mengajar guru memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar.

Abstract

The implementation of the curriculum as per industrial needs should be improved in terms of qualifications of teachers, tools, practicum materials, and the use of learning models as per industry needs. This study aims to evaluate the used curriculum of light vehicle engineering department as per industry needs. This study uses discrepancy evaluation model (design, installation, process, product and comparison) that describes the implementation of curriculum according to the industry needs from various aspects, namely: design, installation, process, product and comparison. The study results concluded that achievement level of curriculum implementation as needed in the design component obtained an average score of 4.28 (83.17%) classed in a good category; installation components get an average score of 3,502 (78.47%) classified in sufficient categories; process components get an average score of 4.05 (81.75%) classed in a good category; and product components that scored an average of 4.02 (81.26%) classified in a good category. As well as in the comparison component that obtained an average score of 3,324 (74.27%) classified in sufficient categories. The implementation of vocational school curriculum majoring in light vehicle engineering as a whole is categorized as sufficient. Therefore, it needs a follow-up from the relevant parties for a better implementation.; one of which is by revising the curriculum to fit the needs of the industry.

Abstract

Teaching aids that have similarities to tools are actually very helpful in learning. In improving students' understanding, learning media is needed, namely a simulator. This study aims to design a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) simulator with validity, practicality and effectiveness, useful to be used as a medium of learning in schools in the subject of automatic transmission systems. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with 4-D model development procedures. This research consists of four stages, namely: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The subjects used were students of SMKN 1 Koto Baru Dharmasraya, the technical analysis of the data used was technical analysis from experts by looking at the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the simulator. To see the difference between the average score of learning scores before and after using a simulator with Gain Score and Standard Deviation. The results showed that the simulator met the principle of relevance from expert judgment with a level of 0.81 which was declared a valid category, on practicality based on the teacher's response it was declared practical with a value of 87.33% and student responses with a value of 92.42%. The effectiveness of the tool is declared effective. On the results of the pretest with an average score of 56.00%, the results of the posttest with an average score of 73.00%, on the N-gain the overall average of students is 0.37 and on the standard deviation seen from the N-gain of 0.12. Based on the development of this media, it can be concluded that the simulator is valid, practical and effective in learning at school

Abstract

Latar belakang: Teknik Pemboran merupakan salah satu mata kuliah pada Program Studi Teknik Pertambangan PDD AKNS. Tujuan penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh penerapan model project based learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar praktik pemboran mahasiswa Teknik Pertambangan PDD AKNS Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan quasi experimen dengan desain Pretest-Postest Control Design yang terdiri dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan tahap akhir. Berdasarkan tahap persiapan dilakukan observasi kemampuan awal mahasiswa dan membuat rubrik penilaian kinerja. Tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan pembagian kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dimana pada kelas eksperimen diterapkan model PjBl sedangkan pada kelas kontrol tetap diterapkan model konvensional. Tahap akhir dilakukan analisis data, pembahasan dan pengambilan kesimpulan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa t hitung (2,95) > t tabel (2,0101)  pada taraf signifikansi (α) 0,05 dan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen mengalami kenaikan sebesar 33%, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya 12%. Dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar praktik pemboran mahasiswa Teknik Pertambangan PDD AKNS. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian yang telah dilakukan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar praktik pemboran mahasiswa Teknik Pertambangan PDD AKNS. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan analisa Gain Score dimana pada kelas eksperimen mahasiswa yang mengalami kenaikan nilai sebesar 33% dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya 12% dan dengan kategori rendah.

Abstract

The condition of COVID-19 has changed the living order of all units. The government and the entire community concentrate on the importance of public safety, with the consequence that funds from different units are allocated to COVID-19 disaster management, including the allocation of educational funds. Procurement for SMK education facilities and infrastructure, previously restricted by training facilities, such as a motorcycle auto-study program (TOSM) of SMKN 1 XI Koto Tarusan-Pesisir Selatan, has been affected by changes in funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture. The absence of learning media and the small number of active teachers from TOSM means that the capacity of TOSM students to fulfill the minimum industry requirements, which is shown by only 16% of SMKN 1 XI Koto Tarusan graduates who can be accepted immediately into the world of work. In a workshop on the design of a motorcycle starter device simulator to solve the problem of incomplete learning media, the implementation team helped develop learning media. This activity took place at SMKN 1 XI Koto Tarusan Pesisir Selatan from 25 to 28 September 2020. There were 10 teachers involved in the course. The production for this operation is 2 motorcycle starter system simulators, which can be used in the teaching and learning process as learning media.

Abstract

Siswa-siswa SMK membutuhkan beberapa keahlian yang nantinya akan digunakan ketika siswa menyeleseikan studinya di sekolah. Salah keahlian yang diharapkan adalah kemampuan menggambar menggunakan program Auto Cad. Dimana kemampuan akhir yang diharapkan dari siswa nantinya adalah mampu membuat gambar dalam bentuk model 2-D dan 3-D. Tujuan dari program pelatihan adalah untuk mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan dari siswa kelas XII dalam menggunakan program Auto Cad. Dengan program pelatihan ini diharapkan siswa mampu membuat gambar komponen-komponen mesin dalam bentuk format 2-D dan 3-D. Sehingga siswa kelas XII SMK memiliki kemampuan menggambar komponen-komponen mesin dan gambar-gambar lainnya dalam format 2-D dan 3-D. Program pelatihan ini menggunakan metode melaui pemberian modul Auto Cad, diskusi, menayangkan melalui slide cara pembuatan gambar mesin dalam format 2-D dan 3-D serta mempraktekkan cara membuat gambar 2-D dan 3-D. Sehingga diharapkan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan siswa kelas XII dalam menggambar komponen-komponen mesin dan gambar-gambar lainnya dalam format 2-D dan 3-D.
