Abstract The increasing of market demand along with high selling price of agarwood encouraged people to get more production by cutting down the agarwood-producing trees. As a result, the population of gaharuproducing trees become decrease and needs to be conserved. Conservation efforts is collateral with production continuity to anticipating market demand can started from planting and cultivating. One of them is the provision of quality seeds that supported by good planting media. This research studied the effect of media on the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk.,seedlings while the planting media were soil, husk, and compost. The method was Completely Randomized Design method consisting of 6 treatments and 5 replications. Each replication consists of 1 plant, so there are 30 experimental units. Treatment is distinguished based on volume comparison of planting media, namelytreatment 1 (P1) soil, treatment 2 (P2) compost, treatment 3 (P3) husk, treatment 4 (P4) combination of soil:compost (50%: 50%), treatment 5 (P5) combination of soil: husk (50% - 50%), and treatment 6 (P6) combination of compost: husk (50%: 50%).The variables which observed were plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves. The results showed that the treatment of planting media using compost (P2) gave significant effect on the increase in height and number of leaves of Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk.,seedlings.  Key words : Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk., seedlings, soil, compost, husk

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research are analyzing the level of members group participation, determining business impact to increase in household economy and analyzing the financial of nursery red Jabon of farmer group Tunas Karumama. This research was done in Tangkunei Village South Minahasa in April 2013. Data were collected using observation and census techniques, the analyzing of participation was using the Spearman Rank correlation and financial analysis of business use the B / C ratio. Descriptive analysis shows that the level of respondents participation 66.67 % was high participation, 23.81 % was moderate participation and Low participation was 9.52 %. The level of participation influenced by education. The economic aspect, activity of nursery was not increasing the household income. The results of analysis financial was using analysis of B / C Ratio value obtained 1,86 > 1,00. Financially this nursery was feasible.Key words : Education, Participation, Feasibility Of Businesses, Identity of Respondents.

ABSTRACT    This research was done to study the increment of Gyrinops versteegii on lands with different levels of ground water depth, a shallow groundwater depth (45-50 cm) at A location and a deep groundwater depth (90-98 cm) at B location. This study used comparative method and purposive sampling. Variables observed were the increase in trunk diameter and free- branch heigtht of Gyrinops. The number of plant sample used was 6 (six) plants, three (3) plants for each location. The measurement of trunk diameter was done, using a measuring tape, at the base of the stem or at 30 cm from the ground. Free branch height was measured from the base of the stem up to the height of the first branch. These observations were done once a month for a year. The results showed that the growth of plants in two locations had differences in trunk diameter and free-branch height from the first month until the last month of observation. The average increments of trunk diameter and free-branch height in the B location were greater than in the A location. Keywords: increment, the ground water  level, Gyrinops versteegii

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the diversity of species and the use of plants as traditional medicine by the people of Batu Putih Bawah Village, Bitung City. This research was conducted in August 2020 in the Batu Putih Bawah village, Bitung City. The method used in this research is interviews and field observations. The informant selection technique used is purposive sampling technique, respondents are selected based on those who have knowledge of medicinal plants and their use. Based on the research results, it is known that there are 56 types of plants from 40 families that are used as traditional medicine. The most common member of the family is Euphorbiaceae (4 species). Trees are the most used habitus (18 species), and the leaves are the most widely used for processing into medicine. Sources of plant acquisition are generally found in the yard of 46% (26 species), the method of processing by boiling is mostly done by 46% (28 species) and the benefits of medicinal plants can heal the liver, asthma, reduce high fever, diarrhea, malaria, sarampa, wounds. burns, ulcers, stomach acid, broken bones and so forth.
