Abstract

Population growth in the city of Semarang increases the need for residential land, shifting individuals from the center to the suburbs. Tembalang is a sub-district with a population growth of 3.69%. The trend in population growth is used to build gated homes, for middle and upper class individuals who need more comfortable, secure, quiet housing. However, the existence of a gated community makes a physical separation between community settlements. Privatization of public spaces in gated housing potentially leads to social inequality and lack of interaction with the surrounding community. The purpose of this study was to examine the social relations between the villagers around housing and residents of the gated community. The study uses questionnaires and open interviews interviews with 93 respondents from Kampong Gendong and a hierarchical analysis to examine social relations. The results show that there are social relations between gated housing residents and villagers based on residence, and they carry out several activities together. Also, housing typology influences the strength of the interaction between villagers and residents of the gated homes. In general, gated housing appear as a form of exclusive property with separate environmental facilities, which might be used by villagers to strengthen social interaction. The relations with the surrounding community play n important role in increasing the sense of security for residents of gated housing, unlike the use of perimeter fence or the guards.

Abstract

The condition of Green Open Space (or Open Space) in Salatiga City has not reached the minimum standard of 30%, as the public Open Space in this City was still 5.61%, and Private Open Space was 6.4%. Active Public Open Spaces were distributed in three sub districts. Minister of Public Work’s Regulation Number05/PRT/M/2008 about guidelines of Open Space providing and utilization in urban area mentions that active public open space should provide at least a park for each of administration at smallest scale of RT (neighborhood association), RW (citizens associations), Kelurahan, Sub District and City. For that reason, identification should be made on the potential location to be developed into active public open space. The compatibility of Open Space location was analyzed using Weighted Overlay analysis taking Percent of Influence value or weight with Analytic Hierachy Proccess (AHP) method to 4 exspert . The result of analysis was the map of compatibility of active public Open Space location with respective width of 26,12 % for compatible class, 59,27% for adequate class, and 12,54 % for incompatible class. This research is a new research, because the final result of determining the location of Active Public RTH in the form of 29 points of location of government-owned land using intersect analysis on GIS. This study is a follow-up for the Salatiga City government to create a disincentive policy related to the fulfillment of KDH, such as the imposition of taxes and compensation that can be used to replace green land that the government can provide.

Abstract

The Mayor of Semarang revealed that Taman Kasmaran is one of the processes in structuring green open land in the city center. The development of Kasmaran Park is aimed at beautifying the Kampung Pelangi area. Thus, the Semarang City government changed the riverbanks of Semarang which was previously a slum into a productive area. The construction of the Kasmaran Park was completed at the end of 2017 and was inaugurated on January 8, 2018. The beginning of the land which is now the Kasmaran Park is a garage and barber shop area. The people of Kampung Wonosari are aware of the development of Kasmaran Park, but the majority of the people are not involved in the development process of Kasmaran Park. That is because the construction of the Kasmaran Park is a Semarang City government project. The method used is a quantitative method with frequency distribution analysis techniques and content analysis from questionnaire data distributed to 52 respondents. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the most felt impact for the people of Kampung Wonosari with the existence of Taman Kasmaran is on changing environmental conditions. That is because the existence of Taman Kasmaran brings environmental changes to be cleaner, and no longer slums. The community is becoming more concerned about the environment, the community also has a place for refreshing, a gathering place, recreation, playing with a better environment.

Abstract

Public green open spaces in Gambiran Green Village include Gajahwong Educational Park, Taman Krida, and Wifi Park. However, not all parks are utilized by the community, there are parks that have minimal daily visitors. This causes negative impacts such as parks prone to crime and used for immoral activities that disturb the surrounding environment. The malfunction of the park in Gambiran Green Village also caused the construction of the park to be redundant. The research method used is a quantitative approach with content analysis techniques. Based on the analysis done, it can be concluded that the attractiveness of a public green open space in Kampung Hijau Gambiran is strongly influenced by the availability of facilities (both primary and supporting facilities) and vegetation in the park; ability to accommodate community activities; and the location and accessibility of the park. Gajahwong Educational Park was chosen as the most attractive public green open space, in addition to the availability of facilities and vegetation that support the theme of education, but also because it has a broad and attractive design. Whereas Taman Krida was chosen as the least attractive public green open space due to the lack of socialization related to the existence of the public open space. The attractiveness of public green open spaces that can be sought at the thematic parks in Gambiran Green Village includes the improvement and addition of park facilities, as well as the addition of plant variations; creating a comfortable atmosphere for the community; optimization of park management involving the community; an inclusive park that can accommodate all activities.

Abstract

Diponegoro University is a university with 73% of green open space. Green open space is good for supporting physical and mental health and academic performance of students. But in order for GOS to be used optimally, it is necessary to provide the suitable GOS. The purpose of this study is to find out what students' perceptions of the ideal green space. This research method uses a mixed approach. The analysis is carried out by performing content analysis and frequency distribution analysis. Result shows that there are 47 variations of ideal GOS criteria according to Undip Tembalang students. Then students are asked to choose one of the 6 GOS which they think is the most ideal. Analysis of the criteria that affect the selection of each GOS shows that the ideal GOS in Tembalang Undip Campus is based on 32 criteria. In addition, the findings show that the activities that are mostly carried out by students in GOS are physical activities and social interactions. This becomes the basis in determining the ideal green space on the Undip Tembalang Campus which show that the Undip Reservoir Area is the most ideal green space at this time.

Abstract

The existence of Undip and Unika in Semarang become the main attraction for students who are outside Semarang. It can increase the activity around Undip and Unika areas. Nevertheless, there are some new things happening around the campus area, in September 2017, there were reports of loss of 34 motorcycles, 133 helmets and 1 rearview mirror in Undip. Meanwhile, Unika has a case of murder that killed a man outside the exit gate of Unika in 2014. Therefore to minimize the crime case it is necessary to "Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED)" in campus area, can improve students' sense of security on the two campuses. In this research, to achieve the result of design quality, the method of analysis used is descriptive quantitative method. Analytical technique used is Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and scoring using categorical given in the form of descriptive quantitative. Results of research that determine in Undip are in the sufficient category with 2,079 and the Unika category is in good category with a score of 2,378. These differences can be influenced by factors such as land area, contour, building density, area, number of students, and number of activities, which can cause facilities and policies to reduce crime and improve security at Undip and Unika.
