Abstract

The Response of Growth and Yield of  Four Soybean Varieties (Glycine max L.) to The Shading Levels,The aim of the study was to obtain the effect of soybean seed size on the  shading levels for growth and yield of soybean (Glycine max L.) The study was conducted at Tanjung Selamat village at 57 metres above sea level, from April to July 2012. The  split plot design was used two treatment, namely shading level  a N0 (no shading), N1 (shading 20%), N2 (40% shading), and N3 (60% shading) as main plot and four varieties V1 (Anjasmoro), V2 (Burangrang), V3 (Wilis), and V4 (Rinjani) as sub plot. The results showed that shading level significantly affected germination percentage, plant height 2-5 Weeks After Planted, number of branches, number of chlorophyll, total leaf area, number of  fill pods, and production per  twelve plants. The soybean varieties significantly affected plant height ages 2-5 Weeks After Planted, number of chlorophyll, number of branches, flower initiation, number of fill pods, production per twelve plants, and weight of 100 seeds. Interaction of two treatments significantly affected production per twelve plants.   Keywords: soybean, shade, and varieties

Abstract

This research aims to know the growth and production various types of soy beans in the second stage various levels of shade. This research was done on Faculty of Agriculture field Universitas Sumatera Utara. On July until October 2011 in Medan. This research was used split plot design  factorial  methods with two factors, shade (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%) as the main plot and varieties (Anjasmoro, Pangrango, Tanggamus, Nanti) as subplot. The result showed that the shades to significant effect against plant height, the number of branches on the main stem, number of beans per plant, number of seeds per plant, production per plot, weight of 100 seeds. Varieties  factor gave significant  effect to percentage of germination, number of seeds per plant, weight of 100 seeds. interaction shading and varieties was significant effect to percentage of germination. ________________________________________________________________________________ Key words: shade, varieties,and  soybean

Abstract

The response of cocoa seedlings growth for giving municipal waste compost and P fertilizer. Thedesign of the experiment was randomized block design arranged in factorial with two factors. Thefirst factor is municipal waste compost, Subsoil ultisol 5 kg + municipal waste compost 0 kg,Subsoil ultisol 3,75 kg + municipal waste compost 1,25 kg, Subsoil ultisol 2,5 kg + municipal wastecompost 2,5 kg, Subsoil ultisol 1,25 kg + municipal waste compost 3,75 kg. The second factorpresent of Phosphat Fertilizer, 0 g/polibag, 2 g/polibag, 4 g/polibag, 6 g/polibag. The Parameterobserved includes plant hight (cm), number leafs (sheet), diameter of stem (mm), total of broad leaf(cm2), fresh and dry weight of crown (g), fresh and dry weight of root (g).The result of reseach showed that municipal waste compost influential significantly on plantheight, number of leafs, diameter of stem, total of broad leaf, fresh and dry weight of crown, freshand dry weight of root. P fertilizer was significantly on total of broad leaf. Interaction between ofmunicipal waste compost and P fertilizer was not significantly to all parameters.Key words : cacao, compost, phosphat

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research was to study growth and yield of soybean varieties on different plantspacing. This research was done in PTPN 3 Afdeling VII Kebun Rambutan, Sumatera Utara. Usingrandomized block design of two factor were plant spacing (squared and penta) and varieties ofsoybean (Anjasmoro, Nanti). The result showed that plant spacing was significantly effect to plantheight at 3 and 4 WAP (week after planting). Varieties significantly effect to plant height at 4 and 6WAP (week after planting), productivity/plot and weight of 100 seeds. The interaction of plantspacing and varieties significantly effect to leaf number.

Abstract

Response growth of soybean by cutting and giving empty fruit bunches of oil palm compost inshaded area.Using of shaded area for soybean plantation faced trouble such yield decreasing.For that purpose cutting and giving empty fruit bunches of oil palm (EFBOP) compost aimed toincrease growth of soybean in shaded area. This research was conducted at experimental field ofFakultas Pertanian USU in January-April 2013 using factorial randomized block design with twofactor, i.e. time of cutting (no cutting, cutting in V5, cutting in R1) and dose of EFBOP compost(0, 10, 20 and 30 ton per ha). Parameter observed were plant height, summarize of leaf area, stemdiameter, and shoot root ratio. The result showed that cutting significantly decreased plant heightbut increase all parameter observed. Dose of EFBOP compost significantly increased summarize ofleaf area and stem diameter. The interaction of two factor significantly increased summarize of leafarea. The best result were showed by cutting in V5 and giving 30 ton per ha EFBOP compost.Keywords : cutting, EFBOP compost, shaded area, soybean.

Abstract

Effort to increase soybean production in dryland experiencing problems such as nutrientdeficiencies. Alternative attempt to resolve the issue that inoculation of B. japonicum is able tofixate free N2 in the atmosphere that can be utilized by soybean plants. In this symbiosis requiredisoflavone genistein is a signal molecule for nodulation. The objective of this research was knowthe respons of growth and production of soybean (Glycine max L. Merill.) on dryland withapplication of inoculation B. japonicum induced genistein and organic fertilizer. This research wasconducted at Desa Sambirejo Kecamatan Binjai Kabupaten Langkat on June - October 2012, usinga randomized block design factorial with two factors. The first factor was isoflavon (genistein)consisted of without genistein and with genistein. The second factor was combination ofB. japonicum with organic fertilizer consisted of without B. japonicum; B. japonicum;B. japonicum + fertilizer organic (10 ton/ha); B. japonicum + rice straw compost (10 ton/ha);B. japonicum + fertilizer organic (5 ton/ha) + rice straw compost (5 ton/ha). Parameters observedwere shoot dry weight, root dry weight, seed dry weight per plant, and dry weight of 100 seeds.The result showed that induction of genistein tends to increase shoot dry weight, root dry weight,seed dry weight per plant, dry weight of 100 seeds, combination B. japonicum and rice strawcompost to increase dry weight of 100 seeds, and the interaction between genistein and combinationB. japonicum and rice straw compost tends to increase root dry weight and dry weight of 100 seeds.Key words: B. japonicum, genistein, growth, production, soybean

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the right pruning times and spacing for the growth andproduction of yam (Pachyrhizus erosus (L.) Urban). This research used factorial randomized blockdesigned with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was pruning time (P),namely withoutpruning (PA), pruning 7 weeks after planting (PB) and pruning 8 weeks after planting (PC) Thesecond factor was spacing (J) which consisted of 20 x 10 cm (J1), 20 x 15 cm (J2),20 x 20 cm (J3),and 20 x 25 cm (J4). The results showed that pruning significantly increased length of plant andnumber of branches. The treatment of spacing area influenced plant height. Interaction of pruningtimes and spacing increased plant height and number of branches.Key words : Yam, Pruning times, Spacing plants.

Abstract

Using of saline land to grow up soybean has constraints such yield decreasing. By using ofsaline tolerant soybean, using ascorbate acid, and inoculation of mychorrizha vesicular arbuscular(MVA) aimed to increasing growth and yield of soybean in saline land.This research was conductedat Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang in Februari – Mei 2013, using split split plotdesign with three factors, i.e. variety of saline tolerant soybean (Grobogan no selection andGrobogan F4 selection), giving of ascorbate acid (0 dan 500 ppm) and MVA isolate (MVA type 1,type 2, type 3, type 4 and type 5). Parameter observed were plant height, number of leaves, numberof productive branches, production per plant.The result of the research showed that using of salinetolerant soybean significantly increase all parameters observed. Giving of ascorbate acidsignificantly increase number of productive branches. Inoculation of MVA significantly effect allparameters observed. Interaction between variety of saline tolerant soybean and giving ascorbateacid were not significantly effect all parameters observed. Interaction between variety of salinetolerant soybean and giving of MVA significantly effected number of leaves 5 week after planting(WAP) and production per plant. Interaction between giving of ascorbate acid and MVA were notsignificantly effect all parameters observed. Abstract

The Application of Solid and Liquid Organic Fertilizer of Banana Kepok Bark on the Growth andYield of Mustard (Brassica juncea L.). The research aimed to know differences in growth responseand yield of mustard in various dose of solid and liquid organic fertilizer from banana kepok barkand the interaction of both factors. The research was carried out in the home screen, Agriculture’sFaculty of North Sumatera University from August to Oktober 2013. The experiment design wasFactorial Randomized Block design (FRB) with two factors and three replications. The first factorwas the solid organic fertilizer dose consist of four levels are 0 , 30 , 60 and 90 g/plant. The secondfactor was a liquid organic fertilizer dose are 0 , 25 , 45 and 65 ml/plant/application. The resultsshowed that the solid organic fertilizer give significant effect on lower the plant height 15 daysafter transplanting and the total of leaf area on 30 days after transplanting. The liquid organicfertilizer significant effect on lower plant height 11 , 19 , 23 , and 27 days after transplanting, dryweight of plant on 30 days after transplanting, the plant yield per sample and yield per plot on 40days after transplanting. The interaction of both significantly on parameter plant height 7 days aftertransplanting and the best result treatment is solid organic fertilizer 30 g/plant without liquidorganic fertilizer.Keywords: Solid Organic, Mustard, Bark of Banana

Abstract

To study the growth and yield of soybean under of oilpalm age four years at PTPN III KebunRambutan, a research has been done in February to May 2012. The design used was random plotdesign with two treatment. The first factor are varieties (Anjasmoro and Nanti) and the secondfactor are planting system (Square and Hexagonal planting system).The result showed that varietieshas significant effect of the plants length at 3, 4, 5, and 6 weeks after planting (WAP), amount ofleafs, age of flowering, weight of dry branches, production per plot, and amount of 100 seeds. Theplanting system has only influence of amount of 100 seeds. There was no interaction between thetwo treatments that was observed for all parameters.Keywords: soybean, planting system, and variety.
