Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the class of land capability, land using, and conservation technique which could be applied at Tondano tuff derived soils along Belang-Ratahan road. The results showed that, four  classes of  land capability, were: a)  class III at 100 m (Watulinei), 200 m, and 300 m (Wawali) above sea level; b) class IV at 400 m (Lowu II) and 600 m (Pangu) above sea level; c) class VI at 700 m above sea level (Pangu), and  d) class VIII at 500 m and 800 m above sea level (Pangu). Most of the land using were not suitable, yet and there were no soil and water conservation technique applied, yet. Only at 700 m and 800 m above sea level that have been used suitable  as the nature reserved. Keywords: land capability, Tondano tuff

Abstract

ABSTRACTLand use without regard to its ability to cause a decrease in the quality of the land, land degradation because they will affect the potential of land. Determine land capability class is expected that the potential of land owned by the obvious. This study aims to assess the potential of rural land capability classes based Kahuku. Research results showed that land potentially useful views of the class abilities gained in the research area of land where two six-unit class III land units with an area of 8.5 ha and a four unit class IV land with total area of 67.35 hectares.Key words : Potential Land, Capability Land

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to analyze the landslide prone areas in Sub Watershed of Tondano in order to obtain the vulnerability information and dissemination in the form of map by using the Geographic Information Systems. The study was conducted by using a Descriptive Method which consisted of a survey and map overlay, while the identification of areas prone to landslides using the scoring method. Parameters measured were soil type , slope , elevation , land use and rainfall . The results showed that the spread of landslide-prone areas in the Sub Watershed of Tondano consisted of five classes of landslide susceptibility, namely (1) No class landslide prone area of 993.12 ha, or 23.64%, spread over an area of 137.42 ha districts Eris, Kakas of 1.31 ha and 854.39 ha area of East Tondano; (2) The low vulnerability class area of 207.59 ha, or 4.94%, spread over an area of 144.10 ha district of Eris, Kakas area of 0.29 ha and 63.20 ha area of East Tondano; (3) Moderate impact class area of 894.19 ha, or 21.28% spread over an area of 503.06 ha district of Eris, Kakas area of 114.97 ha and 276.16 ha area of East Tondano; (4) High vulnerability class area of 469.23 ha, or 11.17% spread over an area of 256.27 ha district of Eris, Kakas area of 48.03 ha and 164.93 ha area of East Tondano; (5) Highest area of 1637.23 ha or 38.97% spread over area of 455.60 ha district of Eris, Kakas area of 45.46 ha and 1136.17 ha area of East Tondano.Key Words : Mapping, Landslide, Sub Watershed of Tondano, GIS (Geographic Information System)

Abstract

sistem informasi geografis.ABSTRACThis study was conducted during one month (May 29, - June 29, 2014) andimplemented in the city of Manado. This study aims to analyze the flood prone areas in thecity of Manado in order to obtain the level of vulnerability and dissemination of informationin the form of a map by using a Geographic Information System. The study was conducted byusing descriptive method which consists of collecting data and map overlay. While theidentification of flood-prone areas using the method by Hematang (2011). Parametersmeasured were soil type, slope, land use and rainfall. The results of this study show the studyarea prone to flooding in the city of Manado has not vulnerable flood level (an area of603.34 ha), the vulnerability of being (an area of 5467.01 ha), are not susceptible (coveringan area of 6492.39 ha) and the rate is very susceptible (an area of 2180.11 ha) spread in 10districts namely Bunaken, Malalayang, Mapanget, Sario, Singkil, Paal Dua, Tikala,Tuminting, Wanea and Wenang.Key Word : mapping, flood, geographic information system

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to map the potential of wetland in Ratahan District by using Geographic Information System. This research used Information System uses descriptive method that consists of survey in field and the overlay of map. This research implemented in the Ratahan District used Citra satellite and physical observations in the field to see the areas that have the potential in wetland with the help of a 5 point coordinate. Mapmaking conducted at the Laboratory of Remote Sensing and GIS Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi for two months (February-March) The potential of wetland in Ratahan District covering 6216.73 ha comprising: The potential of wetland on the slope of 0-8% covering an area of 5,850 ha, which is in the conversion of land use people's plantation area of 4467.00 ha, shrubs covering 448.00 ha, moor area of 444.00 ha and use of wetland is currently an area of 451.00 ha. The potential spread of paddy fields in Maulit village, Poniki village, Rasi village, Wioi village, Ratahan village, Pangu village, Tosiraya village, Vice Mayor village and Vice Mayor Pasan village. The potential of wetland at slope > 8% area of 366.73 ha is in the conversion of land use people's plantation area of 191.81 ha and use of wetland currently 174.92 ha. The potential of wetland in Kalatin spread in the village, and Lowu village. Keywords: Wetland, Geographic Information System.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the effect of compost on soil porosity of sandy loam and claysoils and to see its effect on the growth of Maize plants. This research was conducted at Greenhouseand at Soil Physics and Soil Conservation Laboratory from May until June 2017. The results showedthat the addition of compost to soil can increase soil porosity and also the addition of compost to clayeytextured soil increased the porosity compared to the sandy loam textured soils. Application of composttends to increase plant height and dry weight on all age of plants; i.e. 10 days after planting, 30 daysafter planting and 40 days after planting. Application of compost at a dose of 10 tonnes/ha gives thehighest plant height on sandy loam soils and the heaviest plant dry weight on clayey loam soils. Keywords:Compost, Porosity
