Abstract

High quality of service is imperative for competitiveness of a service industry. In order to provide much better service, a deeper research on quality service is a necessity. One interesting and challenging aspect in researchin service quality is about measuring service quality. While some methods is proposed for measuring service quality, but every one of them did not offer satisfactory explanation in complex problems of measuring service quality, which is the vagueness and incompleteness in transforming linguistic explanation and scale of one's opinion into numerical scale. One interesting method that incorporate the complexity and vagueness of linguistic explanation and scale into consideration is Qualitometro II method. This method will handle information expressed on linguistic scales without any artificial numeric scalarization and measure and control the quality of service. An interesting study of implementation of Qualitometro II in general medical clinic is conducted to examine the operation and impact of the Qualitometro II method with the assistance of a qualitometro software to ease the complex calculation algorithm. Result of the implementation is presented and evaluated for further study.

Abstract

Survival of a firm in industry will be primarily determined by how efficient it can harness competitive advantage from innovation process. Innovation process itself has strong correlation with knowledge creation, and to understand about innovation, people must understand about knowledge creation process. By successfully harnessing knowledge, people can use those resources to create some innovation product or service that in the end will provide competitive edge into the company. Unfortunately, not much research can be sought to provide more insight on the creation of knowledge inside a company. This paper explores about interesting concept of knowledge creation in Japanese term, which is called as ?ba?. Ba concept can be used to describe how tacit knowledge and casual knowledge can be harnessed into a useful knowledge which in turn will be transformed into innovation process. This paper will briefly give some introduction about ba concept and how it is related to innovation process. A brief study of one multinational company will be used to describe how concept of ba is applied in understanding the success story of innovation from knowledge creation.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted many industries and created a different reality of function in terms of several aspects, including family business and succession. This paper discusses how family business successor intentions regarding succeeding the family business in the near future have been affected by the pandemic. The subjects of our study are senior undergraduate business students that could potentially become successors in their family business. Our model is based on the Intention Model from the Theory of Perceived Behaviors, modified from our previous study with Intention to succeeding family business as the dependent variable. Data of 203 valid respondents was collected through quantitative survey and analyzed using a multiple linear regression model. The results of our study show that, during the pandemic, the intention of the heirs of the family business in succeeding his/her family business will be determined by the successor’s own attitude in succeeding family business, campus education, familiness, and resiliency of family business situation in facing the pandemic. https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.14.3.267-282

An empirical research is conducted to show simple application on defining and understanding the model where the result could be used for giving some insight on constructing the appropriate model for entrepreneurship education in the future.
