Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) merekomendasikan anak memperoleh ASI ekslusif selama 6 bulan pasca lahir.

Abstract

Background: The first six months after birth are part of the first 1000 days, a golden period for child development. In this period, the child needed proper nutrition to support optimal development and as nutrition programming. WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) for the first 6th-month. Adequacy of nutrition and optimal growth can be assessed using the nutritional status. Aim: This study analyzes the relationship between EBF for the first 6 months with the nutritional status of a full-term infant aged 0-6 months. The nutritional status assessed using anthropometric measurements and child growth standards. Methods: This type of literature review research uses the PRISMA, PICO, and Boolean Operator methods. The research question with PICO standard "What is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding practice and nutritional status of children aged 0-6 months?". Relevant literature was obtained from 8 databases: Scopus, Portal Garuda, Proquest, Mendeley, Pubmed, Oxford, Science Direct, and Sage. Literature was limited to the last 10 years. There are 6 relevant pieces of literature included for review. The literature quality assessment uses a quantitative study quality assessment tool released by the EPHPP (Effective Public Health Practice Project) and produces 5 pieces of literature worthy of review. Results: From 5 kinds of literature, there were various indicators of nutritional status such as weight-for-age (WAZ), length-for-age (LAZ), weight-for-length (WLZ), Body Mass Index (BMI)-for-age, and head circumference (HC)-for-age. The results were dominated by insignificant results, except the HC-for-age indicator stated that there were significant results. The author explores the causes of insignificant results. Explores based on the indicators that include in studies, the information based on studies, and the possible consequences that adjusted to the data based on the studies. The Author found that the mother plays an important role in the production and provision of breast milk. The quality of breastmilk depends on the mother, also how she gives it to their infant. It has to be based on the WHO recommendation. Conclusion: The result of these studies affirms that EBF didn't significantly affect the indicators of WAZ, LAZ, WLZ, and BMI-for-age, but significantly affected the head circumference-for-age indicator.

Abstract

Several studies suggest that poor sleep quality has an impact on both the mother and the fetus. Providing relaxation exercises in the form of progressive muscle relaxation and slow deep breathing can be a non-pharmacological effort to improve sleep quality in pregnant women. This study aims to analyze the effect of a combination of progressive muscle relaxation and slow deep breathing in pregnant women of third trimester. This research method is pre-experimental designs with a pretest-posttest control group design. The number of samples was 24 pregnant women trimester III with the sampling technique using consecutive sampling. The independent variable is the provision of progressive muscle relaxation and slow deep breathing exercises which are carried out for 3 times on a week over a period of 3 weeks. The dependent variable is sleep quality which is measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results showed a decrease in the mean value in the direction of improved sleep quality by a difference of 4.5 in the experimental group. Whereas in the control group there was an increase in the value which led to a deteriorating sleep quality by a difference of 1.42. The test results showed a difference in the pretest and posttest of the two groups p = 0.000 (p <0.05). These data indicate that there is an effect of a combination of progressive muscle relaxation and slow deep breathing on the sleep quality pregnant women of third trimester.

Abstract

AbstractBackground: Midwifery education in Indonesia consists of D3, D4, S1 and professional education levels. Midwifery professional education is a midwifery education that was only established in 2008. The low interest in midwifery professional education makes it difficult for midwifery education in Indonesia to develop. This study aims to identify interest from another point of view as an effort to increase interest in midwife professional education. Methods: This study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological design. Determination of research subjects was done by purposive sampling technique and obtained 10 midwifery students from transfer class year 2019 Universitas Airlangga. The data was collected by online in-depth interviews with research instruments were voice recorder, notebooks, and interview guides. Data analysis was performed by using data reduction techniques, determining themes, presenting data descriptively, and drawing conclusions. Results: Midwifery students' interest in midwifery professional education was different, namely very interested, interested and in the between of interested not interested. This interest arises based on the factors of inner urge, the factors of social motive, emotional factors and awareness of the importance of midwife professional education. Conclusion: Based on the perceptions of midwifery students from transfer class about the picture of midwifery professional education, midwifery students think that it is necessary to increase graduates of midwifery professional education in Indonesia which shape the interest of midwifery students to take part in midwifery professional education.

Abstract

Physical exercise can cause a change in hormonal system resulting an irregularities of menstrual cycle. Menstrual irregularities is one of the ovulation disruption symptoms. The most important cause of ovulation disruption is a decrease of Gonadothropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) which is regulated by hipothalamus-pitutary-ovarium axis (HPO axis) mechanism resulting in decreased of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) secretion. HPO axis mechanism disruption can be caused by severe physical activity. Methods: This research took place in phaculty of veterinary of Airlangga University. The methods of this research was experimental laboratory study with Randomized Post-test Only Control Group Design. The number of sample were 28 female mice divided into four groups with a sampling technique using probability sampling with the type of simple random sampling. The independent variable of this research were moderate and severe physical exercise. The dependent variable were serum Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) levels. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25 software with one way- ANOVA test. This research was conducted to analyze the difference effect of low to severe physical exercise on serum Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) levels in female mice. The result is there were no significant difference in levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) mice with low, moderate and severe physical activity. The conclusion that can be taken in this research is there is no difference in the effect of low, moderate to severe physical exercise on serum Follicle Stimulating Hormone levels in female mice.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Clinical midwifery students experience higher anxiety than the general population during COVID-19 pandemic. The higher level of anxiety is due to pressure in their clinical learning environment. This study will explore the effect of the clinical learning environment on the increased anxiety in midwifery students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: This prospective cross-sectional study was conducted on 82 clinical midwifery students at Airlangga University using an online survey. We excluded students who had not started clinical studies and students with pre-existing medical or comorbid psychiatric conditions that could explain the pain. Information from participants included  socio-demographic, clinical learning environment questionnaire, and Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A). Results: The study showed that most of the respondents aged 20-27 years (73.2%), in the second semester (76.8%), living in boarding houses/contracts (74.4%), unmarried status (75.6%), the level of family income is very high (68.3%), and the perception of a poor clinical learning environment (51.2%). Participants experienced no anxiety the most (52.4%) and significantly correlated with the age p=0.047, domicile status p=0.076, and clinical learning environment p=0.008. But not their semester p=0.991, marital status p = 0.406, and family income p=0.872. Conclusion: These data indicate that age, domicile status, and clinical learning environment contribute to the incidence of anxiety in midwifery clinic students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
