Abstract

Syaikh Mutamakkin is one of the Javanese scholars that uses a local culture method as a media to spread Islam in Indonesia. It’s a method used Syaikh Mutamakkin written in the book of Pakem Kajen, a writing Pegon Javanese language that is a controversy for Javanese Islamic Scholars, in the end, must be tried in the Surakarta Keraton. The method used by Syaikh Mutamakkin is very interesting to research because he teaches Islam to society by Javanese anthropology that it’s a Sufism concept used Javanese traditional clothes analogy. The writer uses a semiotic approach because the analogy of Syaikh Mutamakkin is symbols of traditional clothes.Keywords: Local Culture, Pegon, Tasawuf, Semiotics

Abstract

Nowadays, Corona Virus (Covid-19) affects the inside of fundamental aspects of society. An effort to preventing the pandemic undertaken by all societies. For instance, social and physical distancing, wearing a masker, hand washing is the most important action to prevent viruses. A massive campaign to prevent COVID-19 intensively expressed by the public, instead of affected by the prevention of act is the religious issues, logic, and science. One obvious example is the prohibition on the use of places of worship, except Mall, public shopping is open. The case that occurs in Indonesia caused a social dilemma in Moslems or other believers in contrast to the government policies. Campaign to the Covid-19 prevention led by the government to present an imbalance between policies and public rules. This research tries to examine the theory by which two concepts which is logic opportunity structure and mass structure mobilization proposed by Thomas Kuhn. Therefore, the model of social mobilization and government policies is an object to get the proper description to results in an obvious solution.

Abstract

Abstract: Haji Mutamakkin was a Javanese cleric in the era of the reigns of Amangkurat IV and Pakubuwono II. Ketib Anom (a palace cleric) ruled that he had violated the Islamic faith by owning a dog named Abdul Kahar and Kamarludin. These two names sounded similar to a Khatib and a Mataram Palace official. This study aimed to discover Haji Mutamakkin's motivations for owning a dog. As a cleric, of course, this was a controversial action and violated the Shari'a. Haji Mutamakkin was described as a controversial figure in Serat Cebolek, in contrast to the opinion of the people around Kajen, who considered him as Allah's guardian. The focus of this is, what was Haji Mutamakkin's motive for naming his two pet dogs? So far, when people talk about Haji Mutamakkin, they only see his Sufistic thoughts, even though there are many sides that have not been revealed, one of which is what we reveal in this research. This study applied a literature with a qualitative descriptive method. This research approach is the study of cultural communication and phenomenological hermeneutics of Paul Ricoeur. This study found that the political transition from Amangkurat IV to Pakubuwono II benefited Haji Mutamakkin. It was proven by granting an amnesty from Pakubuwono II to Haji Mutamakkin, so he was not sentenced to death.The Keraton cleric’s accusations about Haji Mutamakkin's pet dogs did not bother Pakubuwono II; in fact, he believed that Haji Mutamakkin's actions were part of cultural communication and political resistance to Palace officials who only served personal interests, as Patih Danuraja did when he conspired with VOC.

Abstract

This paper discusses the profession of wet nurse or murdhi'at in Mecca during the jahiliyah period, before Islam. This paper explains that there are several factors that caused the Quraysh Arabs to send their children to women called murdhi'at outside of Mecca. The factors described in this paper will provide a new understanding from the perspective of historical studies combined with the study of social change, especially after the Year of the Elephant and the period after it. This paper uses a qualitative method from the historical aspect by collecting literature that explains the murdhi'at or wet nurse in Mecca. The purpose of this study is to reveal the background of the existence of the wet nurse profession or murdhi'at in Mecca.

Abstract

Abstract

Praktik jual beli harus sesuai dengan syariat Islam dengan mengedepankan etika demi terwujudnya keberkahan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisa praktik jual beli jagung pipil kering yang dilakukan oleh tengkulak dan pengepul. Penelitian ini mengunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan sumber data dari tengkulak, pengepul dan peternak kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengumpulan data yang menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengoplosan kualitas jagung dan penimbunan yang dilakukan oleh tengkulak bersifat transparan, pengepul dan tengkulak sama-sama mengerti. Namun penimbangan yang dilakukan oleh pengepul meskipun bersifat terbuka rupanya tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Ada ketidakpastian jumlah penyusutan pada timbangan, tentunya hal ini merugikan tengkulak. Sehingga tengkulak pun juga melakukan kesalahan yang sama ketika menimbang jagung pipil dari petani juga melakukan ketidak jelasan penyusutan timbangan untuk meminimalisir kerugian tersebut. Jelas sekali model jual beli seperti ini tidak sesuai dengan etika bisnis Islam.
