Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran problem posing terhadap kemampuan pemecahan msalah matematis berdasarkan self efficacy siswa MTs. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain yang digunakan adalah the nonequivalent post-test only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII MTsN 03 Kota Pekanbaru. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, angket, dan observasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah soal posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, angket self efficacy dan lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan anova dua arah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, di dapat kesimpulan bahwa: 1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran problem posing dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional di MTsN 03 Kota Pekanbaru, 2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memiliki self efficacy tinggi, sedang dan rendah, 3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan self efficacy terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Kata kunci: problem posing, pemecahan masalah matematis, self efficacy Abstract: The purpose of the research is to findout the effect of using problem posing learning model on math problem solving ability based on students’ self-efficacy at State Islamic Junior High School. This research was quasi experimental research design by using nonequivalent post-test only control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VII at State Islamic Junior High School 03 Pekanbaru. The technique that is used in taking the sample was purposive sampling. Then, the technique for collecting the data was test, questionnaire and observation. The instrument for collecting the data was post-test on mathematical problem solving ability, self-efficacy questionnaire and observation on teacher and students. The technique for data analysis used two ways annova formula. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) there was significant difference on students math problem solving ability by using problem posing model with the students who used conventional learning method at MTsN 03 Pekanbaru, 2) there was significant difference on students math problem solving ability among student having highself-efficacy students, mediumself-efficacy, and low self-efficacy students, 3) there was no significant effect on learning model and self-efficacy toward students math problem solving ability.
