Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtained recommendations on the use of innovative building materials from the development of existing lightweight concrete designs, to decrease the building interior temperature. The research used an engineering experimental method on lightweight concrete as material tested. A profile was attached on the outer side of lightweight concrete in order to formed a shadowed effect and expected to make the building indoor temperature go lower. The result indicated that the shadows shaped by profile attached on the outer side of lightweight concrete not fully effectively in decreasing building indoor temperature. The lightweight concrete thickness affected the velocity of solar thermal radiation impact movement that goes into the buildings interior. The formation of profiles on lightweight concrete surfaces can be decrease the room temperature in at least more than 2°C. The shading was more effective if the profile form in vertical formation. The research output was a lightweight concrete prototype that was able to contribute to decrease the building indoor temperature.

Abstract

TERRITORY DISTRIBUTION PATTERNS OF STREET VENDORS IN UNIVERSITAS TANJUNGPURA OPEN SPACE Universitas Tanjungpura/Tanjungpura University (Untan) area, which is part of the open space of Pontianak City, is currently starting to get crowded with people. The increase in the number of visits has been evident since the arrangement of parks directly adjacent to Untan's open space, namely the Bicycle Park. On the other hand, this has a positive impact, namely, the residents and people of Pontianak have an open space area that is comfortable to visit. Still, on the other hand, this open space also invites the informal sector, such as street vendors. This study aims to identify the spatial distribution pattern formed by street vendors along the Untan area, especially the Untan Auditorium road corridor (Jln Moh Isja). What setting factors play a role in it, and the results of this study can be part of the initial recommendations in structuring street vendors in Untan area. The observation method used is Behavior Mapping, place-centered Mapping, using the independent variables, namely the form of space, and the dependent variable, namely the elements of the setting and territory, as research observations. The results of the study found that the street vendors' territorial distribution pattern was along Streets or the road in front of the Untan Auditorium (Jln Moh Isja), which previously had a relatively low level of vehicle traffic or was an alternative route to enter the camel area, and the street vendor space markers used were semi-dark settings. -fixes such as carts, umbrellas, and tents.
