Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out the effect of Personality on students’ Citizenship Behavior Toward Environment mediated by Procedural Justice. The method used is causal survey by selecting 74 junior high school students in Jakarta randomly. There were four instruments measured, Personality (25 items with a reliability coefficient .859), Procedural Justice (24 items with a reliability coefficient .866), and Citizenship Behavior Toward Environment (26 items with a reliability coefficient .875). Data analyzed by path analysis. The research results showed that Personality and Procedural Justice directly and significantly affected Citizenship Behavior Toward Environment, Personality directly and significantly affected Procedural Justice, then Personality indirectly and significantly affected on Citizenship Behavior Toward Environment mediated by Procedural Justice. Therefore, it can be interpreted that Procedural Justice was a good mediator. Based on those results, it could be concluded that if students’ Citizenship Behavior Toward Environment would like to be improved positively, it’s should be minimized the variations factors such as personality and procedural justice by introducing and implementing procedurally fair environmental education, especially during the pandemic.

Abstract

Wabah Covid-19 yang melanda, memberikan tantangan bagi lembaga pendidikan. Sesuai yang telah di canangkan oleh pemerintah Melalui Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Pemerintah telah melarang semua jenjang pendidikan untuk pembelajaran tatap muka dan memerintahkan untuk pembelajaran secara daring. Penggunaan teknologi digital dapat memungkinkan pelajar hingga mahasiswa dan pengajar melaksanakan proses pembelajaran walaupun mereka ditempat yang berbeda. Pembelajaran jarak jauh atau bisa disebut juga pembelajaran daring merupakan pembelajaran yang menggunakan jaringan internet dengan aksesibilitas, konektivitas, fleksibilitas, dan kemampuan untuk memunculkan berbagai jenis interaksi pembelajaran, ini merupakan solusi pembelajaran ditengah pandemi. Tetapi, dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh masih ada permasalahan yang menjadi hambatan atau kendala dalam pelaksanaannya. Untuk mengetahui itu semua Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan yaitu mengumpulkan data yang tertumpu pada penelaahan kritis dan mendalam terhadap bahan-bahan pustaka yang relevan dan di dapat bahwa kendala yang dihadapi peserta didik dan pengajar dalam proses pembelajaran daring selama pandemic ini masih pada kategori sangat mendasar atau fundamental. Kendala yang sering dihadapi seperti terbatasnya layanan pembelajaran yang diberikan, Kurangnya pemahaman penggunaan aplikasi pembelajaran, dan kendala internet. Ini harus menjadi salah satu hal yang harus diperhatikan baik pemerintah, instansi kependidikan, pengajar dan peserta didik saat mempersiapkan dan melaksanakan pembelajaran online.

Abstract

Sumatran tiger are one of the potential biodiversity populations which continue to decline. One of the few causes of this can occur because of human activities and actions unfavorable to the environment. Therefore, people need to have an attitude of conservation of Sumatran tiger. One of the factors that influence the attitude is knowledge. The study aims to determine the correlation between knowledge with the attitude of the Sumatran tiger conservation. The research was conducted in the village of Batu busuk, West Sumatra in May 2016. The method used was survey method with correlational studies. Data was normally distributed and homogeneous. The simple regression equation is Ŷ = 110,936 + 0.414X. Correlation coefficient obtained is 0,14 which means that there is a correlation between knowledge and towards Sumatran tiger conservation. Knowledge of Sumatran tiger conservation accounted for 1,92% of the behavior towards Sumatran tiger conservation. The result of this study concluded that there was positive correlation between knowledge and attitude of Sumatran tiger conservation.

Abstract

Lab work has become one of the most important activities in learning Biology. Urinalysis requires special treatment because urinalysis using urine as a sample to be analyzed. There have been limitations in implementation of the lab work of urinalysis at high school level. Learning media such as virtual lab work of urinalysis was expected to overcome the limitations. The aim of this research was to develop virtual lab work as learning media of Biology. The research was held at Senior High School 4 Tangerang, using research and development method. Research and information collecting, planning, product development, and try-out and revision were the steps in this research. Instrumen used were questionnaires for need assessment for students, interviews guide for Biology teacher, and questionnaires of feasibility for media expert, material expert, Biology teacher, and students. In the try-out and revision steps, media expert and material expert were involved in feasibility testing, meanwhile Biology teacher and students grade XI at Senior High School 4 Tangerang were involved in field testing. The average percentage of all test products scored 81,76%. The result of this research showed that the virtual lab work of urinalysis could be utilized as one of learning media of Biology for Senior High School grade XI.

Abstract

The analytical thinking skill is a part of the higher order thinking process. The analytical thinking skill is needed to solve a problem in learning process. The analytical thinking has 5 process, there are matching, classifying, analyzing errors, generalizing, and specifying. Group Investigation (GI) model is applied in learning to improve the analytical thinking skill of students in environmental pollution. This research aimed to determine the influence of applying Group Investigation (GI) model on student analytical thinking skill in environmental pollution. This research was held on second semester of academic year 2015/2016 on April until May 2016 in Labschool Kebayoran Junior High School. The kind of this research is a quantitative research with quasi experiment methods. The subject of this research is students in Class VII-B and VII-F Labschool Kebayoran Junior High School. The instrument which used are essay post-test with 15 questions and carried out-learning observations sheet. Based on the result of research, obtained the mean of the analytical thinking skills score test in experiment class is higher than control class, that is 78,46 > 69,43. The prerequisite test shows that data normally distributed and class groups derived from a homogenous population. The hypothesis test uses t-test on 0,05 significant level shows that there is an influence of applying Group Investigation (GI) model on student analytical thinking skill in environmental pollution.

Abstract

Paludarium is one the art of landscape design in a container with visualizing terrestrial ecosystem, aquatic ecosystem, and air ecosystem, so looks like a real in nature. Paludarium can be potential as a media of learning ecosytem. The aims of this research was to develop paludarium as Biology learning media on the subject of ecosystem and know the feasibility of paludarium as learning media. The research was held at Senior High School 38 Jakarta with using research and development method. Analysis of potential and problems, paludarium design, validation design, paludarium revision, paludarium try out were the steps in the research. Paludarium received the average score was 84,2% that achieved good interpretation. The average value to limited field try out (36 students) of the test after using paludarium was 82.77. The average value to wide scale field try out (72 students) of the test after using paludarium was 83.54. The mastery of classical learning to limited field try out after using paludarium was 97.2% and to wide scale field try out after using paludarium was 81.9%. The result of this research showed that the paludarium could be utilized as one of Biology learning media on the subject of ecosytem at senior high school.

Abstract

The future competence of the 21st century requires students to be able to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT). One of ICTs used by students is smartphone. To get the smartphone benefits used by students, a medium of learning is needed in the form of modules on smartphone operating system. Hopefully, it can make the students feel more interested and motivated in learning biology. The purpose of this study was to develop multimedia mobile learning modules based on android operating system which contains biodiversity material for senior high school students of class X. The research was conducted in September 2015 to January 2016. The research method used was a research and development. The validation test results of subject expert, a linguists and media experts testing obtained scores of 84%, 80.57% and 63%. The trial test results of initial and primary use of students was 81,41% and 81,15%. Next result was a trial test from biology teachers with 87.50%. Pre test obtained an average score 83.98 while the post test gained an average score of 87.23. The conclusion of this research and development was the multimedia mobile learning modules of biodiversity material based on android operating system for senior high school students of class X has been developed, got a good interpretation score and increase student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The learning process in schools hasn’t been able to cultivate the habit of thinking in high levels, one of which is creative thinking. This skill can be improved by the-teaching-with-analogies model. The research aimed to know the effect of the teaching-with-analogies model application to students creative thinking. This research was done at Labschool Jakarta Junior High School on May 2014. Samples in the research were VII A, VII B, VII E and VII F with purposive sampling. Samples were decided by simple random sampling, which had 30 students from each class. The methods used quasi experiment with posttest-only control design. Based on calculation, the average score of student in experiment class was 80 and the average score of student in control class was 72. Normality test was tested by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogenity test was tested by F-test. Based on calculation, the data from experiment were normally distributed and homogeny. This research showed that implementation of the-teaching-withanalogies model has affected to creative thinking skills of student on junior high school.

Abstract

Biotechnology includes topic about gene and nuclear cloning is a very challenging subject to study at high school. Without proper Media aid, misconception will more likely to occur among students. The use of Inquiry-based Interactive Multimedia was expected to reduce the misconception about cloning process since it is visualized more clearly. This study was aimed to measure slope misconception of student and to analyze the application of Inquiry-based Interactive Multimedia to minimize student misconception on Biotechnology subject. The research was conducted at MAN 8 Jakarta on May 2012 using a quasi experimental method and pretest-posttest control group design. A total of 40 science students were taken equally from IPA 1 and IPA 2 classes at grade 10 to become experimental and control groups. They were selected by simple random sampling. A test of multiple choice questions with five alternative answers was used as the study instrument. To detect for any misconception, the test result was measured by Certainty of Response Index (CRI). Using this technique, there were 8 % misconception found on the pre-test and 7% on the post-test. As the conclusion, the use of Inquiry-based Interactive Multimedia was effective to minimize student misconception on Biotechnology subject.

Abstract

Slow loris are Indonesia’s primate that is protected and in threat. Slow loris existence in the nature are very thoughtful due to lack of habitat, illegal hunting, and illegal trading. This is because the lack of people awareness about slow loris existence so that it is necessary to held an activity that can improve conservation awareness like Slow Loris Awarenessthat held by Yayasan IAR (International Animal Rescue) Indonesia. The aim of this research was to know the comparison of junior high school student comprehension about slow loris conservation based on participation on Slow Loris Awareness activity. This research was conducted atjunior high school 14 of Jakarta on July 2012. The method of the research was quasi-experiment with nonrandomized control group, pretest-posttest design. The research sample was student of class VIII B and VIII D with 32 students each. The instruments that used were comprehension test question. The analysis prerequisite test was normal and homogen. This research showed that the average of pretest score for experiment class was 61,58 and postest score was 75,18, meanwhile the average of pretest score for control class was 63,05 and postest score was 68,38.The hypothesis was tested using t test showed reject H0, It could be conclude that the comprehension about slow loris conservation on junior high school students who participated in Slow Loris Awareness activity were better than students who did not participate.
