Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between mother andchild communication with depression in adolescents. Samples of this studywere students of ‘Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 02’ Depok(Sleman), Yogyakarta, 17-18 years old and living with parents. The numbersof samples in this study were 90 people. Quantitative analysis was carriedout using quantitative method; data was retrieved using a scale of depressionin adolescent and maternal and child communication scale. Data analysistechniques used was the Pearson correlation. The analysis indicated a highlysignificant negative relationship between maternal communication andchildren with depression in adolescents, with a correlation coefficient (r) =-0.325 with (p) = 0.002 (p <0.01). Maternal communication and childrencontributed in influencing depression in adolescents was 10.5%. Based onresearch that has been done, the researcher concluded that there was ahighly significant negative relationship between maternal communicationand children with depression in adolescents. The better communication isdone on the child’s mother, the smaller the occurrence of depression inadolescents, whereas the lack of communication on the child’s mothers,the greater occurrence of depression in adolescents.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the symptoms of vicarioustrauma and its impact in the lives of volunteers, the factors that causevicarious trauma and expectations for volunteers and government agencies.This study used qualitative research method based on phenomenology asit can reveal the meaning of an event. Based on the analysis result throughinterviews and observation, showed that volunteers who returned fromduty experience vicarious trauma as a result of interaction with multipletrauma victims. There are two main factors causing the occurrence ofvicarious trauma on volunteers are internal factors and external factors.Internal factors include the characteristics (personality) and adversity thatare owned by volunteers and how they performance it. External factorsare type of victim, the social environment and work climate with all kindsof problems.

Abstract

This research was to examine a model of emotion regulation strategy on mothers of ADHD children, if big five personalities have a role on emotion regulation strategy. Quantitative analysis was carried out using AMOS 4.0 software, besides applying observation and interview. Nineteen patients of "Tumbuh Kembang Anak" section in Dr. Sardjito hospital participated in this research. The result of this research showed that: (1) Using structural equation modeling, emotion regulation strategy model that described the role of personality was accepted as model considered fit (chi square=20.268; p>0.05). (2) The result of correlation analysis between personality and emotion regulation strategy showed that the role of personality on emotion regulation strategy was not significant (y =-0,015 p>0,05). Overall, model constructed was able to explain emotion regulation strategy amounting to 2.18%.

Abstract

Kegiatan konseling kelompok dilakukan untuk siswa putri kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Pleret, SMP Muhammadiyah Pleret dan SMP Muhamamdiyah Imogiri,Bantul. Sebelum dilakukan konseling kelompok dilakukan seleksi dengan menggunakan Skala Kompetensi Sosial. Peserta konseling kelompok adalah siswa putri yang memiliki skor kompetensi sosial yang rendah.Konseling kelompok di SMP Muhammadiyah Imogiri dilakukan pada tanggal 25 dan 26 Maret 2018 yang melibatkan 7 orang siswa dalam 1 kelompok. Konseling kelompok di SMP Muhammadiyah Pleret dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 dan 28 Maret 2018 yang melibatkan 7 orang siswa dalam 1 kelompok. Konseling kelompok di SMP MBS Pleret dilaksanakan pada tanggal 29 dan 30 Maret 2018 yang melibatkan 20 orang siswa dalam 3 kelompok. Konseling kelompok terdiri dari sesi pembentukan kelompok, tahap involvement, tahap transisi, tahap terapi dan tahap akhir.Hasil evaluasi dengan menggunakan Skala Kompetensi Sosial menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta mengalami peningkatan dalam kompetensi sosial setelah mengikuti kegiatan konseling kelompok. Selain itu setelah mengikuti konseling kelompok para siswa merasa lega saat mengungkapkan permasalahannya, mampu mengenali dan mengekspresikan emosinya serta mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang cara mengelola emosi, cara mengenali emosi diri serta bersikap asertif.Kesimpulan dari kegiatan yang telah dilakukan adalah konseling kelompok mampu meningkatkan kompetensi sosial pada siswa putri. Kata kunci : konseling kelompok, siswa putri  GROUP COUNSELING  FOR  SEVEN GRADE FEMALE STUDENTS OFSMP MBS PLERET, SMP MUHAMMADIYAH PLERETAND SMP MUHAMMADIYAH IMOGIRI  Alfi Purnamasari, Erlina Listyanti Widuri, Siti MulyaniFakultas Psikologi Universitas Ahmad Dahlan alfi_purnamasari@yahoo.com Group counseling activities were conducted for seventh grade female students of Pleret Middle School Muhammadiyah Boarding (MBS), Muhammadiyah Pleret Middle School and Imogiri Muhamamdiyah Middle School, Bantul. Before group counseling is carried out selection by using the Social Competency Scale. Participants in group counseling were female students who had low social competency scores.Group counseling at Muhammadiyah Middle School Imogiri was conducted on March 25 and 26 in 2018 involving 7 students in 1 group. Group counseling at Muhammadiyah Middle School Pleret was held on March 27 and 28 in 2018 which involved 7 students in 1 group. Group counseling at the MBS Pleret Middle School was held on March 29 and 30 in 2018 which involved 20 students in 3 groups. Group counseling consists of group formation sessions, involvement stage, transition phase, therapy stage and final stage.The evaluation results using the Social Competence Scale showed that most participants experienced an increase in social competence after participating in group counseling activities. In addition, after following the counseling the groups of students were relieved when expressing their problems, being able to recognize and express their emotions and gain knowledge about how to manage emotions, how to recognize emotions and be assertive.The conclusion of the activities that have been carried out is group counseling capable of increasing social competence in female students. Keywords: group counseling, female students

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, the use of the internet is increasingly widespread, especially among teenagers. One of the characteristics of adolescent development is the existence of great curiosity, including in sexual matters that lead to access to pornography. The purpose of this activity is to provide community-based preventive interventions with psychoeducation. The results of the intervention were an increase in understanding about using the internet wisely, the impact of pornography addiction, knowledge about sex education and effective communication.

Abstract

Indonesia is a region that is frequently hit by disasters, especially the earthquake because of geological factors. Earthquake in 2006 in the region of Yogyakarta and Central Java still has problems to this day, the basics of the economy has not fully recovered , disabled people coud not work as usual, people experience a variety of stressors such as income and material stress and emotional stress. The aimed of this study was to find out the effect of cognitive and religious intervention to cope with stress of disaster. The subjects of this study were people in Bantul who exposed to stress due to disasters such as disability and individuals who have low self-confidence because of disabilty. The method of the study was a responsive action research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, focus group discussions, psychoeducation and training. The study found that cognitive and religious intervention has positive impact on recovery of the subject, for example increase on self-confidence of individual and decrease in the mean of SUD (subjective unit disturbances) score of familie’s subject member. The interventions were usefull to improve the future intervention of disabled persons and people who experience stress of family member’s disability.
