Abstract

Empowerment of women farmers is one of the keys to success that affects the economic pace of farming families. Through the aim of the sustainable food house movement in synergy with the application of the LEISA concept, it is possible to optimize local resources and combine various components in an environmentally friendly farming system. Facts on the ground state that 33.5% of women farmers do not understand the importance of using inputs from within. This study was conducted to describe the empowerment of women farmers and to analyze the factors that influence the empowerment of women farmers as well as to develop strategies to improve the empowerment of women farmers in the application of LEISA for sustainable food houses. Data collection was carried out from April to June 2021. The research sample amounted to 53 people spread over 3 selected Kelurahan. The data in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The conclusion of the study shows that the empowerment of women farmers assessed based on knowledge, attitudes and skills is in the moderate category, while the derivative effect of the dependent variable is influenced by the characteristics of women farmers, biophysical aspects, support for extension services and external factors which mean that women farmers need to be guided and directed synergy as a goal in achieving increased knowledge, attitudes and skills in supporting the implementation of LEISA for sustainable food houses. Strategies to increase women's empowerment in implementing LEISA for sustainable food houses can be done through 1) women's ability to make decisions, 2) use local resources, 3) increase support for extension services, and 4) provide relevant information sources and local government support. in achieving environmentally friendly sustainabl agriculture.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with a majority in rice farming. Every year there is an increase in rice production resulting in an increase in the amount of agricultural waste such as straw. The habits of farmers in Cimalaka Subdistrict, which are burning straw to reduce agricultural waste, have a negative impact on the environment. The content of the elements in straw can be reused for rice plants and can increase soil fertility, therefore a study was carried out under the heading " Farmer Empowerment through Processing Rice Straw Waste into Bokashi Fertilizer for Rice Plants (Oryza sativa L.) in Cimalaka District". The purpose of this study is to describe the level of empowerment of farmers in processing rice straw waste into bokashi fertilizer, analyzing the factors related to empowering farmers through processing rice straw waste into bokashi fertilizer and identifying extension strategies to improve farmer empowerment. The assessment was carried out for 4 months (March-June) in Cimalaka District. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling totaling 52 respondents. The type of data consists of secondary data and primary data. Data obtained through direct interviews and questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed descriptively and partial correlation. The results showed that the empowerment of farmers in processing straw into bokashi fertilizer in Cimalaka District was quite high. Factors associated with empowering farmers through processing rice straw waste into bokashi fertilizer are the level of education, the role of extension workers and sources of information. The strategy that can be done to improve farmer empowerment is through counseling through demonstration of how to make bokashi fertilizer to improve farmers' skills.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis propfil petani muda dalam usaha agribisnis. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Cianjur Jawa Barat dengan pendekatan kuantitiatif dan survai. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 110 orang dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Lokasi penelitian di kabupaten Cianjur. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan kapasitas kewirausahaan pemuda sebagian besar berada pada klasifikasi sedang. Petani muda sebagian besar berpendidikan SMP dan SMA, rata-rata lama usaha 6,1 tahun, sebagian besar tidak pernah mengikuti pelatihan, akses TIK tinggi, persepsi dan motivasi sebagian besar berada pada klasifikasi sedang. Kapasitas kewirausahaan petani muda dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan, akses TIK, motivasi, faktor eksternal dan peranan penyuluhan.

Abstract

In order to increase production and improve the welfare of farmers, the government through the ministry of agriculture and other relevant ministries, annually distributes a variety of assistance to farmers in the form of input subsidies such as fertilizer and direct assistance in the form of seed assistance and agricultural machinery and other forms of aids. To ensure that all assistance is channeled and received appropriately by farmers, accurate data is needed on the number of farmers and their farming conditions. Agricultural extension workers are also expected to have valid data about farmers in their working area, so that they can program counseling well and on target. In order to equip agricultural extension officers with valid and accurate farmer data, as well as providing a farmer database for policy making purposes, it is necessary to develop a farmer database system that can be updated and accessed quickly. For this purpose, Bogor Agricultural Development Polytechnics through lecturer research activities carried out at BPP (sub-district level) and Distan (district level), designed a farmer database model that was implemented in 2016. The development of the Farmers Database System model was designed using an approach of Database Systems Development Lyfe Cycle (Connoly, 2014) with some adjustments. It is hoped that later a valid kecamatan level of farmer database will be used as a reference in making various decisions related to farmers.This paper outlines the concept of a farmer database system model design, possible implementations, constraints, and challenges that will be encountered in its later operation. The output of this research is a complete database design of farmer databases ready to be further developed into a software application by a programmer/developer. For future implementation, it is expected that BPPSDMP can initiate the project.  Dalam rangka peningkatan produksi dan peningkatan kesejahteraan petani, pemerintah melalui kementerian pertanian dan kementerian terkait lainnya, setiap tahun menyalurkan berbagai bantuan kepada petani baik dalam bentuk subsidi input seperti pupuk dan bantuan langsung berupa bantuan benih dan alat mesin pertanian maupun dalam bentuk lain. Guna memastikan bahwa seluruh bantuan tersebut tersalur dan diterima dengan tepat oleh para petani, maka  diperlukan data yang akurat tentang jumlah petani dan kondisi usahataninya.  Para penyuluh pertanian juga diharapkan memiliki data yang valid tentang petani yang ada di wilayah kerjanya, sehingga dapat memprogramkan penyuluhan dengan baik dan tepat sasaran. Guna melengkapi petugas penyuluh pertanian dengan data petani yang valid dan akruat, serta menyediakan database petani bagi kepantingan pengambilan kebijakan, maka perlu disusun suatu sistem basisdata petani yang dapat di update dan diakses dengan cepat. Untuk keperluan tersebut, STPP/Polbangtan Bogor melalui kegiatan penelitian dosen yang dilaksanakan di BP3K/BPP (kecamatan) dan BP4K/Distan (kabupaten), mendesain suatu model database petani yang telah dilaksanakan dalam tahun 2016. Diharapkan nantinya database petani tingkat kecamatan yang valid akan dapat dijadikan acuan dalam pengambilan berbagai keputusan terkait petani. Makalah ini menguraikan konsep desain model sistem database petani, kemungkinan implementasinya, kendala, dan tantangan yang akan dihadapi dalam pengoperasiannya nanti. Output dari penelitian ini adalah rancangan lengkap database petani yang siap dikembangkan lebih lanjut menjadi suatu software aplikasi oleh programmer/developer. Untuk implementasinya kedepan diharapkan BPPSDMP dapat memprakarsainya.
