Abstract

This research had been conducted in April up to June 2014 in LaboratoryofParasite andFish Diseases,Faculty of Fisheriesand Marine Sciencesof RiauUniversity. This research aims to find out the type of bacteria pathogenicpotentially infect slice of fish in the Kampar River, Teratak Buluh Village in RiauProvince. The adventages of this research is to provide the types of bacterialpathogens that potentially attack the slice of fish in the public water of Riau. Themethod applied in this research is survey methode by taking some samples in thefield ( in Kampar River ) and then analyzed in the laboratory. And the result isthere are five species of bacteria found namely Aeromonas sp, Basillus sp,Pseudomonas sp, Stapyhilococcus sp, and Edwardsiella sp.Keywords: Bacterial pathogens, Fish slice

Abstract

This research was conducted on 12nd May until 23rd July 2015. The aims of thisresearch was to determine the best dose of mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostanaL.) simplicia addition in feed to increase non-specific immune responses in Africancatfish (Clarias gariepinus). This research used Completely Randomized Design(CRD) with one factor, five treatments and three replications. The treatments wereaddition of mangosteen rind simplicia in feed with different concentration i.e : Kn(without addition of mangosteen rind simplicia and without infected with A.hydrophila), Kp (without addition of mangosteen rind simplicia and infected with A.hydrophila), P1 (addition of mangosteen rind simplicia 2 g/kg of feed and infectedwith A. hydrophila), P2 (addition addition of mangosteen rind simplicia 4 g/kg of feedand infected with A. hydrophila) and P3 (addition of mangosteen rind simplicia 6 g/kgof feed and infected with A. hydrophila). The results showed that mangosteen rindsimplicia in feed of treatment P3 on the best dose (6 g/kg of feed) and it can beincrease of non-specific immune responses in African catfish.Key words : Garcinia mangostana L., Clarias gariepinus, A. hydrophila,Simplicia, Differentiation of Leukocytes

Abstract

This research was held in June-November 2015 in Parasites and Fish Diseases Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau Pekanbaru. This research aimed to determine survival rate of Pangasius hypopthalmus that are immersed in curcumin (Curcuma domestica V) and infected by Aeromonas hydrophila. This research used five treatment such as; Kn (negative control): were not immersed of curcumin and were not infected A. hydrophila, Kp (positive control): were not immersed of curcumin and infected by A. hydrophila), P1: immersed with curcumin 0,5g/L, P2 immersed with curcumin 0,7g/L and P3: immersed with curcumin 0,9 g/L. The fish were immersed with curcumin for two minutes each once a week and they were reared for 28 days. The result showed P1 ( immersion with curcumin solution in a dose of 0,5 g/L) were the best treatment with survival rate of 93,33% and total of leucocytes 16,1167x104 cell/mm3. It was concluded that curcumin can be used for prevention of A. hydrophilla and increase the survival rate of Pangasius hypopthalmus.Key words: Pangasius hypophthalmus, Curcumin, Aeromonas hydrophila

Abstract

This research was conducted in June-August 2016. The purpose of this study was todetermine the effect of feeding feed enriched curcumin turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val)to the picture of the red blood cells (total erythrocytes, hematocrit, and hemoglobinconcentration) Pangasiushypophthalmus and infected by Aeromonas hydrophilla. Thedesign used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, the level 5treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were feeding enriched curcuminextract withdifferent dose i.e Kn = negative control (feeding without being given curcumin extract andwere not infected byAeromonashydrophilla); Kp = positive control (feeding without beinggiven curcumin extract and infected byAeromonashydrophilla); P1 = addition of curcuminextract in feed at a dose of 0.3 g/kg; P2 = addition of curcumin extract in feed at a dose of0.5 g/kg; and P3 = addition of curcumin extract in feed at a dose of 0.7 g/kg. The resultsshowed that feeding enriched curcuminextract against of Pangasiushypophthalmus at adose of 0.7 g/kg (P3) is the best dose for Pangasiushypophthalmuswith a total oferythrocyte 1.87x106 cells/mm3, hematocrit 35.33 %, and hemoglobin concentration of 7.66g/dl after infected byAeromonashydrophilla and generate growth in absolute weight of 3.66g and a survival rate of 100 %.Keywords:Curcuminextract, Pangasius hypophthalmus, Aeromonas hydrophila, Totalerythrocytes,

Abstract

ABSTRAKDaun mangrove Rhizophora sp. memiliki kandungan antimikrobial seperti tanin, alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin. Penyakit Motile Aeromonas Septicaemia disebabkan oleh bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila yang dapat menyebabkan kematian 100 % dalam kurun waktu tiga hari. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik dari ekstrak daun Rhizophora sp. mengobati penyakit MAS (Motile Aeromonas Septicaemia) dilihat dari gambaran eritrosit ikan jambal siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus).Metode yang dilakukan adalah eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor empat taraf perlakuan. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah ikan jambal siam yang terinfeksi A. hydrophila berukuran 13-15 cm, sebanyak 120 ekor. Dosis yang digunakan untuk pengobatan adalah 1300 ppm, 1600 ppm, 1900 ppm, dan kontrol tanpa pengobatan. Pengobatan dengan cara perendaman di dalam larutan ekstrak daun Rhizophora sp. selama 5 menit dilakukan dua kali dengan selang waktu 24 jam. Parameter yang diukur antaralain; total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, nilai hematokrit, dan kelulushidupan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun Rhizophora sp. mampu mengobati ikan jambal siam yang terinfeksi MAS (Motile Aeromonas Septicaemia) dengan metode perendaman. Dosis yang terbaik 1600 ppm ditandai dengan rata-rata total eritrosit 290 x104 sel/mm3, kadar hemoglobin 9,30 g/dL, nilai hematokrit 29,66 %, dan kelulushidupan ikan uji pascapengobatan 84,61%. Kata kunci: Rhizophora sp, Aeromonas hydrophila,Hematologi, Pangasius hypophthalmus

This study used an experimentalmethod and histological of the liver and kidney structure of Clarias gariepinus wereanalyzed by descriptive. The treated fishes were fed in three differentconcentrations of fed simplisia mangosteen rind. Kn: (feed control) the fish were notfed simplisia mangosteen rind, P1: The fish were fed simplisia mangosteen rind 2g/kg, P2: The fish were fed simplisia mangosteen rind 4 g/kg, P3: The fish were fedsimplisia mangosteen rind 6 g/kg and fishes were reared for 60 days. Showed that theabnormalities of liver and kidney such us inflammatory cells, haemorrhage,h yp e r t r h o p y and necrosis. Abstract

This research was conducted from November 2016 until April 2017 in the Parasites and Fish Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau and Integrated Chemical Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science of Health Muhammadiyah University of Riau. The aims of this research was to determine the sensitivity of Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract on Pseudomonas sp., the range of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas sp. and know the toxicity of Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract against African catfish, the LC50 test conducted by immersion for 24 hours. This research used an experimental method. The treatment that being used were giving Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract at a concentration of D1 (100%), D2 (90%), D3 (80%), D4 (70%), D5 (60%), D6 (50%), D7 (40%), D8 (30%), D9 (20%), D10 (10%) and Kp : control (cloramphenicol). The results showed showed that Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas sp. at a concentration of 10% with an average of 8,12 mm zone of inhibition. MIC test showed a concentration of 8,5% average number of colonies of bacteria as much as 248,67 × 108CFU/mL can inhibit the growth of Pseudomonas sp. LC50 Xylocarpus sp. leaf extract against African catfish by immersion for 24 hours in the concentration 8,6% (860 ppm).Key words : Xylocarpus sp., Minimum Inhibitory Concentration, Pseudomonas sp., Sensitivitas, LC50

Abstract

The results shown the turmericduring 60 days of maintenance has effect (P<0,05) to thetotal leucocyte and lymphocyte. The best treatment of  P2 (dose 0,7 g/kg).With total leucocyte 10,21 x 104 sel/mm3, lymphocytes 83,66%, neutrophils 6,66%, monocyte 9,66%,, survival rate 92%, and ), absolute weight equal 40,86 g.
