Abstract

Abstrak – In this research, a carbon dot has been synthesized using citric acid and polyethylene by heating repeatedly in the microwave. The results of the synthesis were characterized by UV-Vis, FTIR, Photoluminescence (PL) and TRPL spectroscopy. The UV-Vis characterizations show that the sample has shown two peaks with the wavelength 200-280 nm and ~330 nm. This marks the p®p* and n®p* excitation transitions which are characteristic of the carbon dot. FTIR characterization has shown the presence of O-H strain vibration bands, C=O aromatic carbonyl, C-O strain and sulfate strain vibration frequencies on wave numbers 3292, 1623, 1129 and 996 cm-1, respectively. From the PL characterization using excitation laser beams of 320, 420 and 530 nm (violet, blue and green) obtained that the carbon dot samples produced radiation emission at wavelengths of 453, 525 and 590 nm, respectively. The TRPL calculation results show that the average lifetime of the photoluminescence is in the order of 10-9 s, which is characteristic of fluorescence photoluminescence. These results show that a carbon dot has been successfully synthesized with radiadifferent emission characteristics depends on the laser beam.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Telah dilakukan produksi protease dari bakteri termofilik isolat LS-1 yang dikulturkan dalam media cair mengandung natrium sitrat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kondisi optimum produksi protease pada isolat bakteri termofilik lumpur Sidoarjo. Metode: Produksi protease dilakukan pada berbagai waktu, sumber karbon dan nitrogen. Karakterisasi protease dilakukan dengan menggunakan substrat azokasein dengan pengaruh berbagai suhu, pH dan pengaruh ion logam. Hasil:  Produk enzim mencapai maksimum pada 10 jam dengan aktivitas 1,85U/mg protein. Beberapa sumber karbon yang dibutuhkan untuk produksi protease dalam penelitian ini telah dioptimasi. Amilum adalah substrat terbaik, diikuti oleh natrium sitrat, asam sitrat dan sukrosa. Di antara berbagai sumber nitrogen organik dan anorganik NH4NO3 telah diketahui yang terbaik. Studi karakterisasi protease yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan suhu optimum pada 60ºC. Enzim stabil selama 2 jam pada suhu 30ºC, sementara pada suhu 40ºC dan 80ºC, menurun masing masing 16% dan 86% dari aktivitas awal. Pencapaian pH optimum enzim diketahui 8,0. Setelah larutan enzim kasar dinkubasi selama 24 jam pada pH 5,5, 8,0 dan 9,0, terjadi penurunan sekitar masing-masing 49%, 15% dan 63% dari aktivitas sebelumnya. Pengaruh K+, Hg2+ dan Cu2+ pada konsentrasi 1mM sebagai inhibitor kuat sehingga mengakibatkan hilangnya aktivitas. Ion yang berkontribusi mempengaruhi aktivitas adalah Mn2+ dan Ca2+, yang menunjukkan bahwa ion ini memiliki peran fungsional dalam struktur molekul enzim. Kesimpulan: Produksi protease optimum oleh bakteri termofilik isolat LS-1 pada waktu      10 jam. Amilum  adalah substrat terbaik untuk produksi protease. Suhu dan temperatur optimum aktivitas protease masing masing pada suhu 60ºC dan pH 8,0. Aktivitas Protease dipengaruhi oleh ion logam Mn2+ dan Ca2+.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is one type of bacterium that causes skin infections resistant to some antibiotics. This encourages research to find new antibacterials by using substances from natural sources, often called medicinal plants. Aqueous extract of Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) flower (AERF) was selected as one of natural ingredients for antibacterial in gel dosage form, in which sodium alginate was used as a matrix base. In this study, determination of the sodium alginate concentration effects (2.5%, 3% and 3.5%) on the properties of the gel was performed. The characteristics evaluated included pH, viscosity, and dispersive power; that should be met standard requirement and the gel ability to inhibit Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 growths.  A diffusion test method was used to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of the AERF powder against the test bacteria. The study results showed that AERF gel preparation with a composition of 3% sodium alginate and 3% roselle extract had better properties (pH, viscosity, and dispersive power) than the matrix and extract concentrations of 2.5% and 3.5% respectively. It was found that the optimum formula obtained a MIC of 0.04 mg/ml. In line with these results, it is expected that the AERF gel preparation will be stable, safe, and acceptable when used and might be recommended as antibacterial topical dosage form against Staphylococcus aureus. In the future, inhibitory activity against resistant pathogenic bacteria could be evaluated and developed.

Abstract

Coenzyme Q10 berfungsi sebagai antioksidan yang dapat melindungi tubuh dari kerusakan yang dikarenakan radikal bebas. Coenzyme Q10 tidak stabil dan mudah terdegradasi ketika terpapar cahaya sehingga perlu dipilih suatu sistem penghantaran yang dapat memperbaiki stabilitas serta dapat meningkatkan penetrasinya. Nanostructured Lipid Carier (NLC) merupakan salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan penetrasi obat melalui stratum corneum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh HPMC 606 terhadap kadar Coenzyme Q10 yang terpenetrasi pada kulit tikus. Pada penelitian ini dibuat sediaan patch tipe membran menggunakan sistem NLC. Coenzyme Q10 sebagai drug reservoir, sedangkan HPMC 606 sebagai rate controlling membran dengan kadar 20%, 15%, dan 10%. Uji penetrasi Coenzyme Q10 dari sediaan patch secara in vivo dengan menggunakan kulit tikus Wistar. Semakin kecil kadar HPMC 606 yang digunakan (20%, 15%, 10%) ternyata menghasilkan nilai fluks yang cenderung semakin besar (F1 = 15,714±0,257 %/jam ; F2 = 14,778±0,224 %/jam ; dan F3 = 13,765±0,182 %/jam) dan lag time yang semakin cepat (F1 = 0,523±0,029 jam ; F2 = 0,657±0,021 jam ; dan F3 = 0,679±0,016 jam). Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin kecil HPMC 606 yang digunakan sebagai rate controlling membrane, maka semakin besar Coenzyme Q10 yang berpenetrasi, sehingga F1 terpilih sebagai formula yang paling baik.

Abstract

Manggis merupakan buah yang mengandung banyak manfaat sehingga penentuan kandungan dan nutrisi pada manggis merupakan hal yang penting untuk dilakukan. Namun, metode pengujian yang ada memerlukan tahap ekstraksi yang cukup rumit dan membutuhkan kemampuan ahli. Sehingga diperlukan metode yang lebih sederhana seperti spektroskopi UV-Vis dan Fotoluminensi. Pada penelitian ini, analisis lebih dalam menggunakan metode turunan orde kedua spektrum absorbansi dan dekonvolusi spektrum fotoluminensi dilakukan untuk mengetahui senyawa nutrisi pada manggis. Dari hasil analisis turunan kedua spektrum absorbansi didapatkan tiga puncak serapan yaitu puncak pertama dan kedua pada panjang gelombang 220-320 nm yang merupakan serapan dari asam fenolik. Sedangkan puncak ketiga pada panjang gelombang 344-341 nm merupakan spektrum serapan dari antosianin. Analisis dekonvolusi spektrum fotoluminensi didapatkan tiga puncak emisi. Dari ketiga puncak tersebut, terdapat puncak emisi asam fenolik yaitu pada panjang gelombang 480 nm, 467 nm, dan 483 nm. Penelitian ini  berhasil mengidentifikasi kandungan nutrisi dari buah manggis dengan metode spektroskopi dengan analisis yang lebih dalam.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve mathematics learning outcomes for students in grade II elementary schools with the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model by making projects in the form of nail boards in groups. The research conducted was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) in three cycles, with each cycle consisting of one meeting. The stages of each cycle are planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. In the first cycle, the students who completed the evaluation were 37,5%. In the second cycle, students who completed the evaluation were 81,25%. In cycle III, students who completed after evaluating were 93,75%. These results indicate that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model by making projects in the form of nailed boards in groups can improve mathematics learning outcomes for Class II students at SDN 1 Randegan.

Dysmenorrhea is a reproductive health problems that is always felt by some young women during menstruation. Lack of physical activity such as exercise, prolonged stress, consumption of nutritious foods, especially vegetables, is one of the triggers for dysmenorrhea. One non-pharmacological management that is safe to do to reduce dysmenorrhea pain is abdominal stretching exercises. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of abdominal stretching exercises to reduce adolescent dysmenorrhea. This type of research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using a one group pretest posttest approach. The population in this study were all female students at the Wahdah Islamiyah Islamic Senior High School Makassar. The sample is 15 respondents was obtained using a purposive sampling technique. Respondents performed the abdominal stretching technique for 15 minutes every time they felt menstrual pain. The results showed that before being given abdominal stretching exercises an average value of 4.2000 was obtained with a standard deviation of 1.08233. Meanwhile, after being given abdominal stretching the average value was 2.4667 with a standard deviation of 1.06010. The results of the analysis of the paired sample t test obtained a value of 0.000 which means the value of < (0.05). It can be concluded that there is an effect of abdominal stretching on decreasing adolescent dysmenorrhea. Therefore, it is highly recommended for adolescents to do abdominal stretching exercises when experiencing dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

This article aims to find out strategies for increasing voter participation in exercising their voting rights. This topic is important and interesting, because the increase in voter participation has a great influence in conducting elections, especially when accompanied by socialization and voter education which become a strong foundation for building the level of voter participation in using their voting rights as well as possible. This research method is a type of research that uses a descriptive qualitative approach, where this method utilizes qualitative data and is described descriptively. Sources of data in the study were obtained through interviews, observation, and online media (Publish or Perish database, SINTA, and Goggle Scholar). Data collection and data analysis techniques in this study were using interview, observation, and online media techniques (Publish or Perish database, SINTA, and Goggle Scholar) which were carried out by researchers to collect, explore, and collect valid, complete, and relevant information related to the topic of the problem that is the object of research. The author finds that, related to this activity, it is very useful as a strategy to foster a high participatory attitude in using their voting rights as well as possible, because this activity is a step to encourage as an agent of change (agent of change), so that awareness of political rights, democracy, and community participation can be increased again.
