Abstract

Bunga krisan merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman hias dan penghasil bunga potong. Bunga krisan memiliki berbagai variasi bentuk dan warnanya. Berdasakan jumlah kuntum,  bunga krisan dibagi menjadi dua tipe, yaitu tipe Standar dan tipe Spray. Tipe Standar adalah bunga yang memiliki satu buah kuntum bunga dalam tiap tangkai, seperti Krisan Shamrock, dark red pompom, regal mist, dll. Sedangkan Tipe Spray adalah bunga yang memiliki banyak kuntum dalam satu tangkai dan memiliki diameter bunga sekitar 2-3 cm, seperti Krisan Puma, Salmon, Granada, dll. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) merupakan tahapan yang harus dilalui dalam suatu proses kerja untuk mempertahankan tingkat penampilan atau kondisi tertentu sehingga suatu pekerjaan bisa diselesaikan secara aman dan efektif. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) dibutuhkan untuk menghasilkan panen yang optimal. Dan tujuan dari Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) adalah untuk menjaga keutuhan bunga agar kualitas bunga tetap bagus dan memberikan nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Hasil perancangan Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)  di Nongkojajar adalah pertama proses pemanenan, kedua proses pemotongan tangkai bunga, ketiga proses pembungkusan, keempat proses perendaman, kelima proses penerimaan hasil panen, keenam proses pengemasan, dan ketujuh proses penyimpanan. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kinerja pita tanam organik (PTO) sebagai mulsa pada berbagai variasi tebal dan lebar PTO. Percobaaan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial dengan 3 (tiga) kali ulangan dan dibandingkan dengan kontrol.  Faktor I adalah lebar PTO (L) yang terdiri dari 5 taraf, masing-masing adalah, L1: 4 cm, L2 : 5 cm, L3: 6 cm, L4 : 7 cm dan L5 : 8 cm. Sedangkan faktor II adalah tebal PTO (T) yang terdiri dari 2 ketebalan yaitu T1: 0.5 mm dan T2 : 1.0 mm. Hasil percobaan membuktikan bahwa lebar PTO berpengaruh terhadap evaporasi air tanah. Lebar pita tanam organik 8 cm dengan tebal 1 mm menghasilkan evaporasi paling rendah yaitu 3,467 mm hari-1. Lebar pita tanam organik berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan gulma dan efisiensi penggunaan air. Lebar pita tanam organik 8 cm dapat menghambat pertumbuhan gulma dan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air. Sedangkan tebal pita tanam organik berpengaruh terhadap kadar air dan suhu. PTO dengan ketebalan 1 mm dapat meningkatkan kadar air dan menurunkan suhu. Kata Kunci : Pita Tanam Organik, Mulsa, Tanaman Padi

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the influence of vibration on the physical condition of the fruit as well as to determine the best position of mangoes during transportation. The method used in this research was by performing physical tests of mangoes using a transportation simulation process. The benefit of this research is finding the most effective way to reduce damage during transportation.  This research was using the experimental method with two treatment; i.e. vibration in three levels (2, 3 and 4 cm) and mangoes position as well. The physical condition analysis was emphasized on the fruit pressure value. The result was indicated the significant different between the fruit pressure value before and after transport simulation. The biggest value is vertical position with the former stem below (Va). However, there are no significant difference between upper layer and bellow layer of fruit position.Keywords: gadung mango, physical damage, transport position, vibration

Abstract

Seat is a dominant factor in increasing the healthy and safety for four-wheel tractor operator.  Therefore it is needed to be designed to suit the Indonesian people body’s dimension in general. This study was done to measure the body’s dimension of 100 students at the age of 19 to 30 years old. The data collected from this sample were: genuflection height data, shoulder’s height to sitting position data, pelvis width data, the distance of genuflection to the base data, the distance of the curve central point of vertebrate, and the weight of body in sitting position. The result of this study shows that: the present height of tractor seat base is 35 cm, while the proposed height is 39 cm. The present length of seat base is 34 cm while the proposed length is 51 cm. The present width of the seat base is 34 cm while the proposed width is 41 cm. The present height of back of the seat is 27 cm while the proposed height is 64 cm. The present width of back of the seat is 40 cm while the proposed width is 50 cm. The proposed curved of the back is 33 cm. The load can be resisted is 53 kg. Abstract

The objective of this research is modification of driving engine on soybean seed peeler Orbapas uses an electric motor, and then examination the performance of modified Orbapas. The hypothesis of this study is the greater the speed of rotation Orbapas, will result the greater peeling capacity. The research was done by modification of peeler with add electric motor, gearbox, and holder, then the performance of peeler with 3 speed was tested. Result of this research showed that the peeling capacity increased after modification of Orbapas as followed:15.67 kg/hour at 73 rpm, 19.46 kg/hour at 93 rpm, and 21.9 kg/hour at 119 rpm, compared to original capacity of 14.12 kg/hour at 80 rpm.Keywords: orbapas, peeling capacity, electric motor

Abstract

Occupational health and safety is important to avoid accident in production process. Pabrik Gondorukem and Terpentin (PGT) Rejowinangun is a factory that processes pine latex to produce gondorukem and terpentin that have high levels of workplace accidents. In this study, occupational health and safety evaluation performed by evaluate facility, workroom, working condition, and health and working safety implement at sectioned production process corresponds to behaviour aspect and employ safety default then give remedial recommendation proposal job on work area of that evaluation result. Study result show that amelioration of working location in Pabrik Gondorukem and Terpentin is required to improve occupational health and safety. Dangerous employee behavior such as the employee awareness to wear safety equipment, cleanliness of the area and company safety and health management is need to be improved. Abstract

Panen merupakan tahap akhir dari proses budidaya padi di sawah, salah satu hal yang penting dalam pemanenan padi adalah cara panen. Cara panen dapat digolongkan dalam dua macam yaitu secara tradisional dan mekanis. Secara tradisional panen mempunyai kelemahan  dalam kebutuhan tenaga kerja yang banyak serta kapasitas kerja yang rendah sedangkan secara mekanis harga mesin panen yang mahal serta kondisi lahan pertanian di Indonesia yang bergelombang belum memungkinkan digunakannya mesin pemanen mekanis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang suatu mesin pemanen padi mekanis satu jalur yang sesuai dengan kondisi lahan pertanian di Indonesia, serta mengujinya pada lahan padi siap panen. Dari pengujian dan perhitungan didapatkan nilai tahanan guling dari mesin pemanen padi sebesar 454,133 N dan daya untuk menggerakkan mesin maju sebesar 111,01 Watt. Pada pengujian di lapang mesin pemanen padi menunjukkan unjuk kerja yang baik, dimana batang pengarah dan gigi bintang mampu mengarahkan batang tanaman padi ke titik pemotongan, dan kemampuan pisau yang dengan cepat memotong batang tanaman padi. Salah satu fungsi utama yang kurang tercapai adalah kemampuan konveyor menggeser tanaman padi ke sisi luar dari mesin pemanen. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya kecepatan gerak dari konveyor dan gigi bintang.   Kata kunci: mesin pemanen padi satu jalur, rancang bangun, mesin pertanian

Abstract

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method for evaluating and improving the performance of organizational unit.  In this study, DEA applied to evaluate the performances of mechanized small farms in Madiun regency.  Firstly, 28 farmers that have been surveyed, were evaluated by combined DEA model which integrated all inputs and outputs sets.  Then, two different analyses which had different inputs/outputs set were established; one was cost and revenue analysis and the other was age of hand tractor analysis.  Finally, all index of efficiency in combined model and both separated models were compared.  The results revealed that 11 farmers judged efficient on combined treatment. However, on comparison of separated and combined treatment appeared that only 2 farmers were truly efficient while 9 farmers were judged partially efficient.  Two farmers were truly efficient could be the optimization benchmark in all aspect of farmers performance.  Nine partially efficient farms still had a room for improvement performances. Since inefficient farms should be motivated to achieve standard performance much higher on each aspect of performance on separated model, optimization through combined DEA way was better for 17 inefficient farmers.Keywords: data envelopment analysis, separated DEA model, combined DEA model, hand tractor, efficiency of performance, potential improvement

Abstract

Bioethanol is one alternative to fossil fuel substitutes depleting annually. Bioethanol production using waste material containing cellulose such as rice straw, require special attention in the process of pretreatment to customize the lignocellulose both in terms of structure and size to break up and reduce the content of lignin and hemicellulose. This research has been conducted on the hydrolysis of rice straw using wet milling pretreatment (WMP) and microwave-NaOH method compared to the dry milling pretreatment (DMP) with respect to the content of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. The results showed that the hydrolysis using WMP has a lower content of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin compared to the DMP, since the size of the rice straw affect the mesh lignocellulose content. The larger mesh size of rice straw used, so the lignocellulose content is getting smaller.   Keywords: Bioetanol, Delignifikasi, Pretreatment, Wet Milling, Rice Straw

Abstract

The use of planting bags of organic materials in the field of agriculture is a solution to problems such as stacking plastic bag after the seedling planting is completed and inhibits plant growth due to wrong release of planting bag. Organic planting bag practices can add nutrients to the soil and has the ability to retain water, which supports the growth and development of plants. The purpose of this study is to modify the organic planting bags that have been developed using material compositions and sizes of planting bag. The research was conducted in two phases, namely the manufacture and testing of organic planting bag. Parameters observed in this study is the water content, vertical pressure testing, tensile testing, volume and mass of planting bag. Based on the results of LSD test showed that the combined treatment of combination treatment A6B6 is best used as an ingredient of organic planting bag where the comparison between coconut husk and water hyacinth at 1:7.25. To test the moisture content value obtained was 82.35%, for testing the vertical pressure is 0007 kg/cm2, and for testing the tensile stress is 0067 kg/cm2.Keywords: Organic Plnating Bag, Water hyacinth, Coconut Husk
