Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) to the attitude and student cognitive achievement in SMAN 2 Malang. This research applied quasy experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The populations of this research is all student of class X SMAN 2 Malang on academic year 2008/2009. The samples of this research were class X7 as experimental (PjBL) and class X8 as control (conventional). The instrument of this research namely cognitive achievement test and attitude scale questionnaire to river ecosystem. This research data are quantitative data consisted by score cognitive achievement and attitude scale questionnaire to river ecosystem, collected on 14 Maret until 31 May 2009. Data were analysed by bilinear covariant statistical analysis (Ancova), continued with LSD test. The result of this research indicated that there were PjBL toward the cognitive achievement and student attitude to river ecosystem. Students with PjBl having attitude higher 11,65% from conventional students. Beside, students with PjBl having cognitive achievement higher 81,05% from conventional students. Based on this research, the researcher suggest to the teacher that this strategy can be implemented in biology learning. Kata kunci: Project Based Learning, sikap terhadap ekosistem sungai, hasil belajar

Abstract

Lichen is a thallophyte consists of fungus (mycobiont) and alga (photobiont) in a symbiotic relationship. Lichen can grow in a variety of habitats such as trees, on the ground, even in the rock surface. As one of the subjects in the course of thallophyte botany, during this lichen was observed by the students of botanycal labolatory specimen collections that have been preserved. In fact, around on the State University of Malang Collage lichens are found growing in various habitats. Thus, the area of Malang State University Collage can be used as a natural laboratory to improve student’s knowledge about the several of lichen. The study was conducted in June - July 2012 in the area of Malang State University collage area of 453 860 m2. The purpose of research is to determine the diversity of lichens in the area of Malang State University collage and its prospects as a learning resource thallophyte botany subjects. This research is a descriptive exploratory. The method which has been used is modification of Nimis’s method. Lichen diversity studies based on morphological, anatomical and chemical characters. In this research found 10 species of lichen, Acrocordia salweyi, Graphis scripta, Graphis elegans, Pannoparmelia sp., Parmelinopsis subfatiscens, Parmotrema eurysacum (Hue.) Hale, Xanthoparmelia tegeta Elix, Xanthoparmelia xanthofarinosa Elix. Peltigera sp, Physcia aipolia. Based on that result, it was known that lichen diversity in State University of Malang had prospect to be applied as learning resourcesof thallophyte botany subject.  Keywords: lichen diversity, thallophyte botany

Abstract

Abstract: Metacognitive skill is important to develop in students because they are role in form of students to be  independent learners (self-regulated learner)  as one who survives in the 21st century. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of application learning based Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) integrated Nature of Science  (NOS) on improving students' metacognitive skills. The results of the research on the application of learning based IBL integrated NOS in experimental class proved to be able in improving the metacognitive skills of students comparing with the control class based on the significance value p (= 0,000) <? (0.05).Abstrak: Keterampilan metakognitif penting untuk dikembangkan pada siswa karena berperan dalam membentuk siswa menjadi pebelajar mandiri (self-regulated learner), sebagai salah satu tuntutan hidup pada abad 21. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran berbasis Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) terintegrasi Nature of Science (NOS) terhadap peningkatan keterampilan metakognitif siswa. Hasil penelitian penerapan pembelajaran berbasis IBL terintegrasi NOS pada kelas eksperimen terbukti dapat meningkatkan keterampilan metakognitif siswa dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol berdasarkan hasil uji dengan nilai signifikansi p (=0,000) < ? (0,05).

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Berpikir kritis sebagai isu penting terkini telah menjadi fokus dari banyak penelitian di tahun terakhir. Sampai saat ini, banyak usaha telah dilakukan untuk  menunjukkan pentingnya berpikir  kritis  dalam kehidupan masyarakat.   Banyak penelitian telah dilakukan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh berbagai faktor terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji: 1) pengaruh strategi pembelajaran biologi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, 2) pengaruh gender terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan 3) pengaruh interaksi strategi pembelajaran biologi dan gender terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Rancangan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi) Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Malang. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan dengan teknik purposive sample. Sekolah yang dijadikan sampel penelitian yaitu SMAN 7 Malang, SMAN 9 Malang dan SMAN Gondanglegi. Penentuan sampel dengan mempertimbangkan kesetaraan NUN SMP siswa kelas X. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hal-hal berikut. 1) Strategi pembelajaran biologi berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Malang. 2) Gender berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Malang. 3) Interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran biologi dengan gender tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Malang.   Kata kunci:  strategi pembelajaran biologi, gender, kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Trend of Learning of XXI century  is full of skills, one of skills is social skill. In fact, learning by rote is the most applicated in junior high school in Indonesia. One example of junior high school happened in VIIIB class of UM laboratory  school. Module system has been applying there. It causes individual learning so that reduces the social interaction and social skill. One of the solutions for this problem is TGT-GI strategy, it is included to cooperation model of learning.  This research is conducted based on lesson study class action. Aim of the research is to improve student?s social skill by application of TGT-GI strategy in VIIIB Class of UM Laboratory Junior High School. The results of this research shows the average of student?s social skills was 19,34 % increased. In wich 32,44 in the I cycle and 38,71 in the II cycle. Based on this result, it was clocluded that TGT-GI strategy able to improve student?s social skills in VIIIB Class of UM Laboratory Junior High School. Keywords:Social Skill, TGT-GI, Classroom Action Research-Lesson Study

Abstract

Questions serve as an element that can be used to access and stimulate students? thinking ability. This research aimed at analyzing the students? ability to pose Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions during the learning process. This research was a survey research using a descriptive quantitative approach. The samples used in the research were biology education students of UIN Alauddin Makassar and Universitas Muslim Maros, South Sulawesi with the total of 92 students. The instrument used in this research was an observation sheet of questioning skills for the biology pre-service teachers. The results of this research showed that the implementations of RQA, ADI, and RQA integrated with ADI learning strategies were dominated with HOTS questions, while the learning using the conventional learning strategy was dominated with the Lower-Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) questions. The percentages of the HOTS questions in the learning using RQA, ADI, RQA integrated with ADI, and the conventional learning strategy were 60.53%, 55.71%, 64.91%, and 19.35% respectively.  This finding indicates that the RQA integrated with ADI strategy contributes the significant impact in stimulating students? ability in posing HOTS questions in the classroom.

Abstract

Persepsi peserta didik mengenai nilai dari pembelajaran sains secara langsung terkait dengan upaya dan keuletan yang ditunjukkan oleh peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauhmana persepsi mahasiswa dan dosen pada perkuliahan biologi khususnya pada mata kuliah Fisiologi Hewan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan observasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2015 hingga Juni 2016 di Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar; UPRI Makassar, STKIP PI Makassar. Subjek penelitian adalah 349 mahasiswa biologi dan 46 dosen biologi. Hasil angket mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa aspek percaya diri mahasiswa untuk aktif dalam diskusi kelas masih rendah dengan rata-rata perolehan 28.30%; keberanian mahasiswa dalam mengajukan pertanyaan/pendapat dalam diskusi kelas dengan rata-rata 28.70%; hanya sekitar 27.14% mahasiswa yang memiliki persepsi bahwa strategi belajar yang digunakan oleh dosen selama pembelajaran dapat membantu mereka dalam memahami materi Fisiologi Hewan; 79.61% mahasiswa beranggapan bahwa frekuensi penggunaaan metode ceramah oleh dosen sangat dominan dalam perkuliahan Fisiologi Hewan; Sekitar 55.39% dosen masih beranggapan bahwa mahasiswa sulit memahami materi jika tidak dijelaskan secara keseluruhan. Sementara itu, hasil angket dosen diperoleh informasi bahwa sekitar 47.65% dosen mengukur motivasi belajar mahasiswa dan 41.84% diantaranya mengalami kesulitan dalam mengukur motivasi belajar mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajarannya. Data ini kemudian menjadi komponen awal dan mendasar bagi peneliti untuk mengidentifikasi aspek keterbutuhan mahasiswa terhadap perbaikan proses pembelajaran biologi. Abstract

[Title: Higher Order Thinking Skills Assessment]. At present, the scope of transformation seems endless, from cars that park themselves without drivers to the production of cars on location through 3D printing. The wearable technology is controlled by the human mind. The coming era of individuals who can face the complexities of life are individuals who have competencies that cannot be replaced by robots, such as empathy, inspiring skills, and higher-order thinking skills. Severe challenges for education to prepare students to become workers who can adapt to new tasks and processes can be overcome by practising higher-order thinking skills. Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) can be trained in schools through the application of constructivist-based learning models. In education, interrelated models, goals, and assessments are called triangle education anchors. Thus, if you want to learn objectives to achieve higher-order thinking skills, then the implementation of learning (models) and their measurement (assessment) must be managed to achieve these goals.

Abstract

Abstract: Empowering communication skills can be done through an implementation of appropriate learning models. Remap-NHT could potentially improve communication skills through syntax of reading, concept mapping, and discussion. This study aims to determine the influence of Remap-NHT on communication skills conducted in August-December 2019. Samples amounted are 100 students from three classes of XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Malang, each of which has been discussed with Remap-NHT, NHT, and control. Data were analysed using Oneway-Ancova which previously carried out One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Levene's Test of Equality of Error Variances. The results showed that Remap-NHT significantly improved communication skills compared to NHT and control.Abstrak: Pemberdayaan keterampilan komunikasi dapat dilakukan melalui penerapan model pembelajaran yang sesuai. Model pembelajaran Remap-NHT berpotensi meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi melalui sintaks membaca, membuat peta konsep, dan diskusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Remap-NHT terhadap keterampilan komunikasi yang dilakukan pada bulan Agustus-Desember 2019. Sampel berjumlah 100 siswa dari tiga kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Malang yang masing-masing dibelajarkan dengan Remap-NHT, NHT, dan kontrol. Data dianalisis menggunakan Oneway-Ancova yang sebelumnya dilakukan uji prasyarat One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test dan Levene’s Test of Equality of Error Variances. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Remap-NHT lebih signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dibandingkan dengan NHT dan kontrol
