Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is a useful ability for students to develop and optimize their mathematical abilities. The real situation shows that the importance of the ability of mathematical representation has not been matched by student achievement. This condition can be solved by applying problem based learning model to learning in a context that is familiar to students such as scouts. The aim of this research is to explain the ability of students? mathematical representation through the Problem Based Learning model with scouts context on circle material at SMPN 8 Banda Aceh. This research used qualitative approach with a type of research is descriptive. Data obtained through tests of student? mathematical representation abilities and interviews. The ability of students? mathematical representations was analyzed by utilizing the data obtained in student learning in groups through PBL model and data of result test after the application of PBL model. The achievement of this research is the ability of students? mathematical representation during learning with PBL model in groups is accordance with the ability of students? mathematical representation after applying the PBL model. The mathematical representation ability of high ability students is able to complete all of the indicators of the mathematical representation ability, students who are in the medium ability only complete indicators of visual and symbolic representation, and low ability students only able to complete indicator of visual representation, although not perfectly.

Abstract

Utilization of ethnomathematics which is part and one of learning with a contextual approach is expected to maximize students' mathematical reasoning abilities in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities taught by the PBL model with ethnomathematical nuances. This research was an experimental study with a control group design pre-test-post-test. The research instrument used was a test of mathematical reasoning abilities. Data were analyzed using t-test. The experimental class experienced better mathematical reasoning abilities than the control class. This can be seen from the N-Gain average value of the experimental class of 0.54 with moderate criteria but the control class of 0.24 with low criteria. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, H1 was accepted, namely the increase in mathematical reasoning abilities of students who received learning with the ethnomatic nuanced PBL model better than students who received conventional learning.Pemanfaatan etnomatematika yang merupakan bagian dan salah satu pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual diharapkan dapat memaksimalkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model PBL bernuansa etnomatematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pre-test-post-test. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan penalaran matematis. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Kelas eksperimen mengalami kemampuan penalaran matematis yang lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,54 dengan kriteria sedang tetapi kelas kontrol sebesar 0,24 dengan kriteria rendah. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis, H1 diterima yaitu peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model PBL bernuansa etnomatik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Matematika adalah salah satu disiplin ilmu yang harus dikuasai siswa. Kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa yang kurang menguasai matematika, khususnya materi fungsi komposisi. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah siswa kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu strategi pembelajaran yang dapat melibatkan siswa secara aktif adalah pendekatan  Problem Posing dengan model Reciprocal Teaching. Materi fungsi komposisi adalah salah satu materi yang dapat diajarkan dengan  pendekatan  Problem Posing dan model Reciprocal Teaching. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan  Problem Posing dan  yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching pada materi fungsi komposisi di kelas XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar Tahun Ajaran 2010/2011. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar Tahun Ajaran 2010/2011 yang terdiri dari 150 siswa. Sedangkan sampel adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 yang diambil secara purposive sampling dari lima kelas. Siswa kelas XI IPA1 diajarkan dengan pendekatan  Problem Posing, sedangkan siswa kelas XI IPA2 diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching. Kedua kelas diberikan tes akhir setelah pembelajaran dilakukan. Adapun data yang diperlukan untuk penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui tes, obsevasi aktivitas siswa, dan angket respon siswa. Tehnik analisis data yang diperoleh dari tes dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t dan data dari hasil observasi dan angket dianalisis dengan persentase. Hasil tes diperoleh rata-rata kelas XI IPA1 ;  = 70,7 dan kelas XI IPA2;   = 72,7. Adapun thitung  = 0,45 dan ttabel = 2,02 atau thitung ttabel pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Berdasarkan kriteria pengujian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa pada materi fungsi komposisi melalui pendekatan Problem Posing dan model Reciprocal Teaching di kelas XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar.

Abstract

Student learning activities can be improved by a Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative model using videoscribe. Video scribe learning media could increase students' interest in learning mathematics. This study aims to determine whether the implementation of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type cooperative learning model using videoscribe increase student learning outcomes at a junior high school,  SMP IT Lukmanul Hakim. Data on student learning outcomes was obtained from a posttest and analyzed quantitatively using a t-test. Hypothesis test of learning outcomes data using the t-test with a significant level (α) = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 15 obtained tcount  t table (7.74 1.75). This study concluded that the application of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type cooperative model using videoscribe on Cartesian coordinates material has succecced and the students were engaged in the learning activities.

Abstract

Abstrak             Model pembelajaran ARCS (attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction) merupakan model yang dikembangkan berdasarkan review tentang motivasi dengan tujuan mengaktifkan siswa belajar.Selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung aspek motivasi sangat mempengaruhi hasil belajar. Statistika merupakan salah satu materi pelajaran yang harus dikuasai siswa namun di SMANegeri2 RSBI Banda Aceh hasil belajar siswa rendah. Model pembelajaran ARCS dalam mempelajari materi statistika dapat menjadi alternatif yang dapat diterapkan dengan harapan siswa termotivasi dalam belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar siswa, perhatian (attention), keterkaitan bahan ajar dengan kebutuhan siswa (relevance), percaya diri (confidence), dan kepuasan (satisfaction) siswa pada materi statistika yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran ARCS. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Penelitian ini merupakan pre-eksperimental design  jenis one shot case study. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 RSBI Banda Aceh dengan KKM materi Statistika 75. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IA 1 sebanyak 24 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar, angket motivasi siswa, wawancara, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perhatian siswa, keterkaitan bahan ajar dengan kebutuhan siswa, percaya diri siswa, dan kepuasan siswa dikategorikan baik  untuk setiap pertemuan. Respon siswa pada setiap aspek ARCS dikategorikan positif. Namun ketuntasan secara klasikal belum terpenuhi karena persentase siswa yang tuntas belajar  secara individu (KKM = 75) kurang dari 85%. Demikian pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran ARCS belum efektif.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran ARCS, materi statistika

Abstract

This research aims to find out more about students’ activity and how to improve their learning achievement by using the Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative model type on the subject of 1st Primary Mathematics at Primary Teaching Education (PGSD) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). The subject of this research is the third semester students of room 4 of PGSD Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) in the year of 2018/2019, totaling 22 people. This research utilized a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics with a percentage formula. Based on the analysis data it is known that students’ activity at the first cycle have an average score of 53.6%, the second cycle have an average score of 68.57%, the third cycle have an average score of 89.29%. There is an improvement in students’ learning achievement on whole number operation material by using the STAD cooperative learning model with an average of 45.4% on the first cycle, 66.7% on the second cycle, and 80.5% on the third cycle.Keywords: Learning achievement, whole number operation, STAD cooperative model.

Abstract

The study is done for determining how many students and how the percentage of students who have mastered the material geometry about prism and pyramid, and getting the discriminant function about the mastery of the material. The study population was the entire eighth grade students of SMP Kasih Banda Aceh while the sample were students of class VIII-1 and VIII-8 to 66 students. Based on the research that has been done using the fisher discriminant analysis method, 18,18% of students have mastered the material geometry and 81,82% of students have not mastered the material geometry. It means that from 66 students only 12 students were able to master the material geometry about well- prism and pyramid. The discriminant function that is formed is and .

Abstract

Individuals with low immune systems have a higher impact on the Covid-19 outbreak. Herbal treatment is one of the solutions to reduce the risk of being infected by the virus. However, the public has not yet fully known about herbal medicines in Indonesia. One of the efforts to increase students' knowledge about herbal medicine is by developing numeracy questions in the context of herbal medicine. This study aims to produce valid and reliable numeracy questions in the context of herbal medicine for junior high school students and to find student responses to numeracy questions in the context of herbal medicine. The research method used is a design research type of development study with a Tessmer development model. The results of the study were 16 numeric questions with the context of herbal medicines that were valid in terms of content, construct, and language based on the validator's assessment, while nine of the 16 questions met empirical validity. The numeration question set in the context of herbal medicine has a high-reliability value. Based on the students' responses, the set of questions developed positively impacted students. The teacher can use these questions as an instrument to train students' numeracy ability.
