Abstract

Basic Chemistry II course is a repetition and development of chemistry which have been learned by students in high school. Therefore, the learning outcomes of student at the course Basic Chemistry II was expected in the high category. Through observations and interviews with students was obtained information that most of the students was difficult to understand about the material. It is necessary to increase the quality of learning in order to better and complete student results through class action research by applying problem-based learning. This class action research aims to improve and complete the learning ability of students of study program of Chemical Education FKIP Riau University academic year 2011/2012 in the course of Basic Chemistry II. This study was conducted in three cycles. The increasing of mastery learning outcomes of students from the cycle I to Cycle II was 25% and from Cycle II to Cycle III was 54.17%. Improving the ability of students to learn this by: 1) Teaching takes place in groups of 5 or 6 people. 2) Using instructional media in the form of textbooks, learning2materials and Student Work Sheet. 3) Lecturers encourage student to be active when group activities. 4) Lecturers provide guidance in groups and classical. 5) Time for classical discussion was long.Keywords : Basic Chemistry II, Problem-based learning, Mastery learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to increase student achievement on the subject of colloids in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. Form of research is experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of two classes, XI IPA1 as an experiment class and XI IPA2 as a control class randomly selected after tests of normality and homogeneity. Experiment class was given to applied question card media while the control class was not. Data analysis technique is used t-test. Based on the results of final processing data use t-test formula obtained  tcount>ttable is  3,06>1,67, it means that the applying of question card media can improve student achievement on the subject of colloids in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. The category improvement of student achievement in experiment class was high category with a score gain normalized is 0,73. Keywords : Question card media, Learning achievement

Abstract

Abstract:This research aims to increase student achievementon the subjectstructure atomicinclassXSMAN 1 Pasir Penyu.  This research is a kind of experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted in SMAN 1 Pasir Penyu.The samples of this research were the students of class XMIA 3 as the experimental class and  students of class X MIA 1 as  the control class.Experimental class is a class that is applied active learning method The Learning Cell, while the control class was not. Data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on analysis of data obtained tarithmetic> ttable is 3,24> 1,67, means that the application of active learning method The Learning Cell can improve student achievement on the subject of Structure atomicin class X MIA 3 SMAN 1 Pasir Penyu, increase learning of 14,5%. Abstract

Abstract: This research is about the application of cooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type that has conducted to know the increasing of student’s learning achievement on atom structure and chemical element periodic system topic in class X at SMA N 2 Tambang. This research was experiment by design pretest and posttest. The sample determined nonrandomly after doing normality and homogeneity test of 9 classes as population and then class X.4 as experiment group and X.5 as control group. The experiment group was applied by the application of cooperative learning model Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type. The data analysis technique used was t - test. Based on the tabulation of last data obtained tcount> ttable was 3,33 > 1.68 meant that the application of cooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type could increase the student’s learning achievement on atom structure and chemical element periodic system topic in class X at SMA N 2 Tambang. Abstract

Abstract : It has been done of research with applied the active learning strategy of Football Verbal that aims to improve student learning achievement on the topic of Colloid in class XI science of Senior High School Number1 Kampar Timur. The research is a kind of experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The samples of this research were the students of class XI IPA2 as the experimental class and students of class XI IPA3 as the control class randomly selected after homogeneity test. Experimental class is a class which was given a treatment by applying active learning strategy of Football Verbal in learning process. Data analysis technique used is the t-test with α = 0,05. Based on the result of data analysis, it obtained tcount> ttable which is 3,74>1,67. The results showed that the application of active learning strategy of Football Verbal can improve student learning achievement on the topic of Colloid in class XI science of Senior High School Number 1 Kampar Timur. Abstract

Abstract: The research was conducted because of the low learning achievement of student on the structure of atom and the periodic system of element who has not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) was 75 that have been established in school. The research aimed to improve the achievement of learners on structure of atom and the periodic system of element subject in X class SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. This research was a kind of experimental research with pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted in SMAN 12 Pekanbaru the samples of the research were the students of X MIPA1 class as the experimental class and students of X class MIPA4 as the control class which were determined randomly after doing normality test and the homogeneity test. The learning process of experimental class and control class used scientific approach which was based on the curriculum in 2013. Experimental class was a class which was given the treatment that used mysterious box and cards media while the control class was not. The data analysis technique we used was the t-test, criteria testing H0 accepted if tcount ttabel dk = n1 + n2 – 2 with α = 0,05. Based on the result of data analysis test, we obtained tcount ttabel was 3,81 1,67. It meant that the use of mysterious box and cards media could improve students learning achievement on structure of atom and the periodic system of element subject in X class SMAN 12 Pekanbaru.Key Words : Mysterious Box and Cards Media, Learning Achievement, Structure of Atomand The Periodic System of Element

Experimental class was a class that was given the treatment that used Gallery Walk learning methods while the control class was not. The data analysis technique we used was the t-test, criteria testing H0 accepted if tcount>ttable, dk = n1 + n2 – 2 with α = 0,05. Abstract

Abstract: The research has been done to apply the cooperative learning type Round Table to improve student learning outcome on hydrocarbon subject in class X SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Apit. The research is a kind of experimental research with pretest-postest design. The samples of this research were the students of class X1 as the experimental class and students of class X3 as the control class is determined randomly after the normality test and homogenity test. Experimental class is a class that is applied model of cooverative learning type Round Table, while the control class wasnot treated by cooperative learning type Round Table. Data analysis technique used is the –t test. Based on analysis of data obtained tarithmetic ˃ ttable is 3,16˃ 2,00, means that type of cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcome on the subject hydrocarbon in class X SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Apit. The category of improvement student achievement in experiment class was high category with a gain score normalized is 0,77.Key Words : Cooperative Learning type Round Table, Learning Outcome, Hydrocarbon.

Abstract

Abstrak: Abstract : The student activities sheet based on Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS) for chemistry grade XI senior high school in hidrolize of salt materials has been developed. Method of this research is Research and Development (R & D). The instruments of this research are questioners which are given to the validators. There are three validators, one of validators is lecturer in chemistry university of riau and two validators are teachers of Babussalam senior high school, Pekanbaru. The result of this research shows the validity of student participant exercise sheet is 90,65 %, and category of validity is very high. Based on the result analysis can be concluded that the learning device consist of student activities sheet based on Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS) for chemistry grade XI senior high school in hidrolize of salt materials has been valid and proper.Keywords: Student participant exercise sheet, learning process envisioned Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS), R&D, hidrolize of salt

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to improve  student achievement on the subject oxidation reduction reaction in class X Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Peranap trough the applying active learning Three-Stage Fishbowl Decision strategy. This research was used Randomized control Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research was conducted from October 2014 to June 2015. The population of the research are all of student in X Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Peranap which consists of 4 classes. Samples of this research have two classes there are class X.4 and X.3 were randomly selected. Class X.4 applied active learning Three-Stage Fishbowl Decision strategy as experiment class and  X.3 as control class. The data analysis technique used homogeneity test is by assessing homogeneous variances of sampel, and hypothesis test (t-test) is by assessing comparison of learning achievement between class. Based on analysis hypothesis test with   d f = 35 + 35 - 2 = 68 (α = 0,05) data obtained arithmetic > table is 4,7376 > 1,67. It showed that active learning Three-Stage Fishbowl Decision strategy can improve student achievement on the subject oxidation reduction reactions class X Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Peranap. Based on normalized gain (N-gain) category increased in experiment class by student achievement was categorized in high (0,71) category, while control class categorized medium (0,51) category.
