Abstract

There are more than 350 species of Chromis fish in the world. Its distribution covers tropical and subtropical water areas. Spesific geographical conditions determine fish development.  This study aims to analyze morphometric meristik, and the differences between chromis fish characters in Indonesia and Korea waters. The research methods were consisted of descriptive methods, Kruskal-Wallis, and Mann Whitney test.The result showed the total length of Abudefduf sexfasciatus found in Palabuhan ratu and Pramuka Island water territories are ranged from 9.9 to 10.2 cm and 7.7 to 13.0 cm.This fish has a dorsal fin, caudal fin which consists of 12-17 weak fingers, and ventral fin consists of 1 hard finger and 4-6 weak fingers. Abudefduf vaigiensis’ found in Palabuhan ratu, Buton Island, Sorong, and Korea water has each ranging total length from 6.0 to 10.6 cm, 10.9 -12.3 cm, 11 cm, and 5.0 to 8.6 cm.The differences are in the caudal and ventral fin. Morphometric characters of Abudefduf sexfasciatus found in Palabuhan ratu and Pramuka Island water territories relatively similar. Morphometric characters of Abudefduf vaigiensis found in Korean waters was not significantly different with Palabuhan ratu, Buton Island, and Sorong water territories. Abstract

Salah satu alat tangkap yang dominan digunakan nelayan Lampulo di Provinsi Aceh saat ini adalah purse seine.Penangkapan ikan dengan alat tangkap purse seine banyak dipengaruhi oleh fungsi-fungsi produksi yang mana untukmengatur pengelolaan. Sehubungan dengan pengelolaan tersebut maka dibutuhkan adanya strategi pengembanganyang akan dikembangkan menjadi perikanan yang ramah lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyusun strategipengembangan perikanan purse seine di perairan Lampulo, Provinsi Aceh. Penelitan ini dilaksanakan di perairan Lampulo dengan basis pengambilan data di PPS Lampulo Provinsi Aceh. Waktu penelitian selama 4 (empat) bulan dimulai dari dari bulan Agustus sampai dengan November 2017. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data kondisi perikanan purse seine di PPS Lampulo yang diperoleh berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara langsung terhadap nelayan dan pelaku usaha perikanan purse seine yang terkait. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan strategi terpilih/diprioritaskan untuk mendukung pengembangan perikanan purse seine pelagis kecil di Perairan Lampulo Provinsi Aceh adalah strategi SO dengan opsi strategi : Pelatihan/sosialisasi nelayan terkait teknologi penangkapan yang ramah lingkungan dikarenakan memiliki nilai skor tertinggi (3,01). Sedangkan untuk strategi WO, ST, dan WT menjadi opsi alternatif untuk strategipengembangan perikanan purse seine pelagis kecil di Perairan Lampulo Provinsi Aceh.

Abstract

Squid resources are the fisheries potention has important economic value in South Bangka Regency. Demand for this commodity in both fresh and processed forms is estimated to continue to increase in the future. This study aims to analyze the contribution of squid fisheries, analyze their development bases, and formulate development strategies in South Bangka Regency. This study used descriptive method, LQ analysis, and AHP method. During the period of 2009-2016, the production of squid fisheries in South Bangka Regency averaged 4187.87 tons with a contribution value of Rp87,736,058,000.00 annually. This squid production follows a polynomial pattern y = -192.1x2 + 1624.x + 1745 (R² = 0.289). The base area for squid fisheries development uses: (1) liftnet is Tukak Sadai District, Lepar Pogok District, and Toboali District, (2) boat liftnet is Pongok Islands District, and (3) squid fishing is Simpang Rimba District, Batu Betumpang District, Toboali District, and Lepar Pongok District. While the priority development strategy is the coaching of human resources for squid fisheries (priority I) and improved management of the squid fisheries business (priority II) in each base area.

Abstract

Southeast Aru Islands Marine Conservation Area (SE Aru MCA) has been existed for nearly 21 years, a period that long enough for a timely evaluation about how far improvement of management has been made in the area in question, i.e. whether management has improved situation of local communities and marine resources availability in the area. This study, therefore, aims at assessing management effectiveness and impacts of SE Aru MCA. Results suggest that the MCA, which was originally established as a marine nature reserve (Cagar Alam Laut, CAL) in 1991 and changed status into marine sanctuary in 2009, has not yet produced the expected positive impacts. Assessment using available tools indicated that the management level of SE Aru MCA is at level 1, with percentage of 34.12%, meaning it is still at initiation stage and less effective in terms of management outcomes. Index of conservation area effectiveness with a value of 0.387 shows that the overall conservation area in the 3 categories mentioned above is less effective, therefore conservation effect has not been able to solve area problems. It is concluded that, after more than 20 years exists in the area, few benefits have been produced by SE Aru MCA for local people associated with it and biological resources in it.

Abstract

Approximately 34.1% of marine fish production in Tanjung Tiram, Batubara Regency comes from the waters of Salahnama Island and Pandang Island. The development of fishing effort in environmentally-friendly ways in the appropriate locations can guarantee the continuity of fish production and to provide a space for the development of the other management activities. The study aims to analyze the type of environmentally-friendly fishing effort and determine the location quotient for their developments in the waters of Salahnama Island and Pandang Island. The methods used were descriptive method, scoring analysis, and analysis of location quotient (LQ). The results showed that fish traps, hook and line, gillnet, and falling net were selected as environmentally-friendly fishing efforts. The location quotients for their developments are a) Fish traps in the east waters and north of Salahnama Island; b) Hook and line in the east waters of Salahnama Island and the north waters of Pandang Island; c) Gillnet in the east waters and north of Salahnama Island and the east waters of Pandang Island; and d) Falling net in the west waters of Salahnama Island and Pandang Island. The location quotient for development to their supporters are a) Port in the south area of Salahnama Island and the west area of Pandang Island and b) Fuel installation in the west area of Salahnama Island and Pandang Island. Abstract

In 2018, tuna production in D.I. Yogyakarta reached 371.66 tons, of which 75-82% were captured using the handline. The dominance of the tuna caught has led to the development of the handline that highly dependent on the potential of tuna resources. Investment prospects are also important because they become a reference for investors in investing in the tuna handline busineses. This study aims to analyze the potential of tuna fish resources including the spread of its fishing ground and analyze the feasibility of developing tuna handline buseneses in the waters of D.I. Yogyakarta. The data of this study were analyzed using the Schaefer model, mapping using geographic information system (GIS), and investment feasibility analysis. The potential of tuna fish production in the waters of D.I. Yogyakarta reached 628,53 tons/year, while the average production was 427,32 tons/year, so it is still prospective to be developed. Potential fishing ground for tuna handline was spreaded in the waters of Bantul Regency until the western border waters of Gunung Kidul Regency, and in the eastern waters of Gunung Kidul Regency. The tuna handline was also prospective to be developed its investment in D.I. Yogyakarta. The value of NPV, IRR, ROI, and B/C ratio of tuna handline were very good, i.e., IDR 425,121,064; 36.49%; 9,36; and 1.22 respectively. Abstract

Big pelagic fishing represents main economic resources of coastal communities in Aceh Jaya Regency. But earthquake cycle and tsunami in 2004 have altered a lot of matter, inclusive characteristic of territorial water which is more or less influencing the production of big pelagic fish. This research aim to analyse of the chemical and physical characteristics of territorial water, its influence to the production of big pelagic fish, analyse of elegibility of its development The methods of research are chemistry and physics analysis, curve estimation analysis, and cost-benefit analysis. Territorial water of Aceh Jaya Regency has good category of DO, turbidity, Pb, brightness, current speed, and temperature, and also good enough category of nitrate and TSS. DO and nitrate have positive correlation significantly to the production of big pelagic fish, but it’s not so effective if DO condition very high (> 8,25 ppm), while about nitrate, more effective if nitrate condition > 0,0065 ppm. TSS has positive correlation to the production of big pelagic fish in territorial water of Aceh Jaya Regency, but temperature tend to negativity. Big pelagic fishing (purse seine, gillnet, and trolling line) are eligible to developed in that location, where NPV value of each are Rp 4.021.356.705, Rp 505.226.479, and Rp 375.453.615, and B/C ratio of them are according to standard.

Abstract

Indramayu regency render production rate 54,38% from the total rate production of sea fisheries production in north coastal West Java reaching Rp 216,9 billion per year.  Capture fisheries effort can be developed further with maximizing the positive interaction and anticipate negative interaction of the Capture fisheries effort components.  The research result show that suistainable of fisheries resources and  human quality are the main internal focus of  the capture fisheries industry development (kp = 2,41 by P = 0,042).   While some components that become main interest for external aspect, governmental policy, and industry development performance is influence of culture (kp = 4,39 by P = 0,024), licensing (kp = 1,63 by P = 0,000), and ability in return of invesment (kp = 4,39 by P = 0,024). The height focus in cultural aspect because of Indramayu fishermen easy to follow behavior changing from outside.  From fisherman point of view, the job assurance opportunity must become main focus to development, but  the reasing of fisherman earn consider to be disregarded because the profit sharing from every trip remain high enough during this time. Abstract

Alat tangkap yang digunakan oleh nelayan untuk penangkapan ikan lemuru di Selat Bali, baik oleh nelayan di Kabupaten Banyuwangi maupun di Kabupaten Jembrana terdiri dari beberapa jenis.  Jenis alat tangkap tersebut adalah purse seine (sleret), gillnet, payang, bagan, dan pukat pantai.  Untuk memperoleh pedoman pengembangan alat tangkap, diperlukan suatu kajian dan seleksi terhadap alat yang digunakan.  Kajian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai informasi dalam pengambilan keputusan dan penyusunan kebijakan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan jenis alat tangkap yang baik untuk penangkapan lemuru di Selat Bali, dilihat dari aspek biologi, teknis, sosial, ekonomi, dan aspek ekosistem. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis skoring.  Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa unit alat tangkap yang dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar dan pedoman untuk dikembangkan dalam rangka upaya pemanfaatan sumberdaya perikanan lemuru di Selat Bali yang dilakukan oleh nelayan di Kabupaten Banyuwangi secara berurutan adalah purse seine, gillnet, payang, dan bagan.  Untuk Kabupaten Jembrana secara berurutan alat tangkap yang dapat dikembangkan adalah purse seine, gillnet, dan pukat pantai.  Jika dilihat secara keseluruhan, maka alat tangkap utama yang potensial untuk menangkap lemuru (Sardinella lemuru Bleeker, 1853) adalah purse seine. Namun demikian, hal yang perlu dipertimbangkan bahwa alat tangkap selain purse seine yangdimiliki oleh nelayan kecil tetap dapat diupayakan karena menyangkut kelangsungan hidup nelayan yang menggunakan alat tangkap selain purse seine di Selat Bali. Pembaharuan terhadap  kuota alat tangkap purse seine di masing-masing wilayah melalui keputusan bersamadua Provinsi.  Berdasarkan keputusan bersama tersebut, dapat terwujud pengelolaan sumberdaya perikanan lemuru (Sardinella lemuru Bleeker, 1853) di Selat Bali secara berkelanjutan, ramah lingkungan dan lestari.Kata kunci:  Selat Bali, seleksi alat tangkap, skoring, sumberdaya lemuru, teknologi

Abstract

Co-management merupakan salah satu pendekatan pengelolaan sumberdaya perikanan yang memberi peran besar bagi partisipasi masyarakat dengan fasilitasi oleh pemerintah dan stakeholders lainnya dalam pengelolaan sumberdaya yang dimilikinya.
