Abstract

 ABSTRACT Comparative studies on  nutrient uptake ability of rice plants (Oryza Sativa.L) that represent groups of plants dicotyledonous with long beans (Vigna sinensis) representative of the group of plants monocotyledonous have been conducted. The study was conducted on a community farm located in the Village of Sungai Sapih  Padang, at plants are used as the sample is sokan varieties. The root of leaves and fruit as well as beans, the same parts are used as sample.Morphological observations of roots, leaves and fruit using the SEM showed the difference between the rice and beans. While the homogenity for fruit rice and beans especially almost the same. The results of nutrient measurements performed by ICP - MS, elemental carbon is the largest percentage of nutrients in the two plants in average above 50% in all parts of the plant. The percentage of Ca, Mg and N elements in the leaves of beans is higher than in the rice leaves, otherwise the percentage of Si element is higher in the rice plants. Key words: absorption, nutrients, Oryza sativa, Vigna sinensis, ICP-MS

Abstract

 ABSTRACT A flavonoid aglycone, 5-hydroxy-3,3’,4’,5’,7 pentamethoxy - flavone (Combretol), an antibacterial compound of ethyl acetate extract from the leaves of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa. The structure of this compound was established based on spectroscopic analyses and comparison with the related compound. The structure characterization of this compound will be discussed.  Keywords: Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, flavonoid aglycone, structure characterization

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Tryterpenoid compound (3-hydroxyeupha-7-ene) were isolated from hexane fraction the steam bark of Toona sinensis (Meliaceae). The structures of these compounds were established base on spectroscopic evidence, including UV, IR, 3C-NMR, 1H-NMR, HMBC, HMQC and COSY spectra and literature survey this is new compound in family Meliaceae. Insect activity of the hexane fraction (1.0%) and against Crosidolomia pavonana were tested. The activity of hexane were mortality (37.5%), antifeeding (75.5%). The activity of the 3-hydroxyeupha-7-ene showed mortality (52.0%), Lc50; 0.39847 and Lt50; 5.53931. Keywords: Toona sinensis (Meliaceae), 3-hydroxyeupha-7-ene, Crosidolomia pavonana, Antifeeding, Mortality Lc50 and Lt50

Abstract

ABSTRACT Volatile components from leafs of Toona sinensis (Meliaceae) were isolated by distillation water-vapour method and analyzed using GC/MS. Forty-eight component were identified, and eight major components are Germacrene-D, Germacrene-B, α-Terpinene, α-Humulene, β-Caryophyllene,  α-Elemene, Bicyclogermacrene and α-copaene. Insect activity of the essential oil against Crosidolomia pavonana were tested. The activity of the essential oil with concentration 25% (mortality 73.3%), concentration 50% (mortality 83.3%) and concentration 75% (mortality 90%). Keywords : Toona sinensis (Meliaceae), essential oil, Crosidolomia pavonana, and mortality.

Abstract

Rhodomyrtone, an antibacterial constituent was isolated from the active fraction of theleaves extract of Karamuntiang, Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk. In this presentstudy, the topical cream formula of rhodomyrtone 2% in vanishing cream was evaluated byin vitro and in vivo preclinical test. The in vitro test was peformed against Staphylococcusaureus ATTC 6538 and Staphylococcus epidermidis ATTC 12228 by using disk agardiffusion method, while the in vivo test was evaluated on the surface of skin infection area ofthe rabbit caused by Staphylococcus aureus. Both these tests were guided bychloromphenicol 2% cream as a comparison. The topical cream of rhodomyrtone 2% invanishing cream showed diameters of inhibition zones of 15 mm and 26 mm towardStaphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis respectively. These diffusions werelower than inhibition zones of chloromphenicol 2% cream which has 30 mm and 32 mm forthe same bacterias in the same condition. The in vivo test showed that rhodomyrtone 2%topical cream can reduced that skin infection and did not caused irritation on the testedrabbits.ABSTRAKRhodomyrtone adalah suatu konstituen antibakteri fraksi aktif ekstrak daun karamuntiang,Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait) Hassk. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan uji preklinisterhadap krim sediaan topikal Rhodomyrtone 2% dalam vanishing cream. Uji preklinissecara in vitro menggunakan media agar dan Staphylococcus aureus ATTC 6538 danStaphylococcus epidermidis 12228 sebagai bakteri uji, sedangkan secara in-vivo dilakukanterhadap kulit pada kelinci yang di infeksi dengan Staphylococcus aureus. Kedua uji inimenggunakan krim kloromfenikol 2% sebagai pembanding. Krim sediaan topikalrhodomyrtone 2% dengan basis vanishing cream memberikan diameter hambatan berturutturut15 mm dan 26 mm terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Staphylococcus epidermidis.Difusi ini lebih rendah dibanding sediaan krim kloromfenikol 2% yang memberikan diameterhambatan 30 mm dan 32 mm, masing-masing untuk Staphylococcus aureus danStaphylococcus epidermidis pada kondisi yang sama. Selanjutnya uji secara in vivomenunjukkan bahwa krim sediaan topikal rhodomyrtone 2% dapat mengurangi infeksi kulitdan tidak menimbulkan iritasi pada kelinci percobaan.

Abstract

In this study, researchers used respondents' data, such as gender, age and duration of work of respondents to be able to provide information about the characteristics of respondents. Where from the questionnaire distributed questionnaire as many as 50 respondents using census techniques.Data analysis with parametric and non parametric statistics using SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square) regarding research variables, instrument test, normality test, hypothesis test, and discussion of the results of hypothesis testing and Path Path Analysis. This study uses path analysis (path analysis) to test the pattern of relationships that reveal the influence of variables or a set of variables on other variables, both direct influence and indirect influence. The results of the study are as follows: The effect of the X3 variable on X4 has a P-Values value of 0.047 <0.05, so it can be stated that the influence between X3 and X4 is significant. The effect of the X3 variable on Y has a P-Values value of 0.013> 0.05, so it can be stated that the effect between X3 on Y is significant. The effect of the X4 variable on Y has a P-Values value of 0.030> 0.05, so it can be stated that the influence between X4 on Y is significant. The effect of X1 on X4 has a P-Values value of 0.002 <0.05, so it can be stated that the influence between X1 to X4 is significant. The effect of X1 on Y has a P-Values value of 0.008> 0.05, so it can be stated that the influence between X1 and Y is significant. The effect of the X2 variable on X4 has a P-Values value of 0.035 <0.05, so it can be stated that the effect between X2 on X4 is significant. The effect of the X2 variable on Y has a P-Values value of 0.004 <0.05, so it can be stated that the effect between X2 on Y is significant.
