Abstract

TRAINING ON MAKING TELANG FLOWER KOMBUCHA FERMENTED SOAP AS RAW MATERIAL FOR HALAL AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY COSMETICS FOR 5TH SEMESTER PHARMACY STUDENTS IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE CONVENTIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL BIOTECHNOLOGY SKILLS. The efficacy of kombucha as antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer is very open to opportunities to be developed as raw materials for drugs and cosmetics that are environmentally friendly and halal in the perspective of biotechnology. The purpose of this training is to provide the latest insight for 5th semester pharmacy students regarding the potential of telang flower kombucha as a raw material for halal and environmentally friendly cosmetics, thereby increasing conventional pharmaceutical biotechnology skills. The methods used are Preparation of the Training Place, Filling in Attendance List of Participants and Questionnaires, Opening of Training Events, and Implementation and Training of Making Telang Flower Kombucha Fermented Soap. Based on the results of both training activities carried out in classes A, B, D, and E, 5th semester Pharmacy Students, Faculty of Health Pharmacy, Mathla'ul Anwar University, Banten regarding Training on Making Fermented Soap Kombucha Telang Flowers as Raw Material for Halal and Environmentally Friendly Cosmetics to Pharmacy Students Smester 5 In an Effort to Improve Conventional Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Skills, the majority of students do not know much about the potential of kombucha fermentation of telang flower which has potential as a raw material for halal and environmentally friendly cosmetics. This is because they are more familiar with fermented kombucha as a functional drink, cosmetic raw materials from fermented kombucha in the form of bar soap and facial toner.

Abstract

Telang flower kombucha is a probiotic that has the potential to be developed as a functional drink and even an active cosmetic ingredient in the form of hand soap as an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 and its mutations. The purpose of this activity is to provide additional insight to students, especially in the pharmaceutical study program at the Faculty of Health Pharmacy, Mathla'ul Anwar University, Banten, in utilizing the fermented kombucha solution of telang flower as an active ingredient in environmentally friendly hand soap cosmetics. The results of the activity showed that the service participants had increased knowledge or insight about the importance of using conventional biotechnology products as a new breakthrough in the pharmaceutical field. This can be seen from the increase in the pre-test and post-test which have been conveyed a lot during material exposure during pharmaceutical biotechnology lectures and during training. Participants who have attended training on making probiotic handwashing soap from fermented kombucha flower telang solution are more enthusiastic and understand the importance of the benefits of fermenting kombucha flower telang not only in the functional food sector but also in the potential for environmentally friendly cosmetics.

Abstract

REPORT OF OBSERVATION OF BED AVAILABILITY FOR COVID-19 PATIENTS AT HOSPITAL IN BANDUNG CITY REGION BASED ON SIRANAP WEB. This observation aims to analyze the level of accuracy and the real time nature of the data on the SIRANAP web conducted by hospitals in the city of Bandung. We did this observation for 16 days by taking screenshots 3 times every day with a random screenshot schedule. This observed update time is then rounded to the nearest 30 minutes to obtain a data resolution. From these observations, it is suspected that the data from seven hospitals in Bandung on SIRANAP website is inaccurate. Of the seven hospitals in the city of Bandung, only one hospital is categorized as real-time, which are Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, the other six hospitals are categorized as not real-time. Based on the standard deviation of SIRANAP data, seven hospitals in Bandung City have different update times. Therefore, it can also be concluded that the data on SIRANAP has not been able to help the people of Bandung City optimally.

Abstract

The fermented kombucha flower telang (Clitoria ternatea L) is a functional probiotic drink with antibacterial properties. This study aimed to determine and test the antibacterial activity against S. aureus from the formulation of probiotic bath soap preparations fermented kombucha flower telang. This research method was carried out experimentally in an in vitro laboratory. The formulation of probiotic bath soap preparations fermented kombucha flower telang was made with varying concentrations of 20%, 30%, and 40%. The test for antibacterial activity against S. aureus bacteria used the disc diffusion method. The working procedure includes making bath soap preparations and testing the antibacterial activity of the probiotic bath soap preparations fermented kombucha telang flower. The results showed that fermented telang flower kombucha in bath soap had an overall antibacterial activity against S. aureus. The concentration of 40% was the highest in the probiotic bath soap preparations fermented kombucha telang flower with an average inhibition zone diameter of 15.5 mm. The average value of the diameter of the inhibition zone was in a strong category.

Abstract

Telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) is a plant that has long been used in medicine and has been shown to have antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine and test the antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis bacteria. This research method uses laboratory experiments conducted in vitro. The liquid body wash formulation of C. ternatea L. flower ethanol extract was made with various concentrations, namely 10%, 15% and 20%. The liquid body wash preparation was tested for its antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis bacteria using the disc diffusion method. The working procedure includes extraction, preparation of liquid body wash preparations, evaluation of preparations and testing of antibacterial activity of liquid body wash preparations of C. ternatea L flower ethanol extract. The results showed that C. ternatea L. flower ethanol extract had inhibitory zone activity against S. epidermidis bacteria. at each concentration, namely 10% of 3.33 mm, 15% of 3.8 mm and 20% of 6.13 mm. Meanwhile, the results of the evaluation of the preparations of all liquid body wash formulations of C. ternatea L. flower ethanol extract met the standards.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sediaan sabun cuci piring yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L) dari konsentrasi gula 20%, 30%, dan 40% serta menguji daya hambat pada pertumbuhan bakteri patogen baik yang berasal dari bakteri gram positif maupun negatif. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini adalah membuat larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang dengan 3 konsentrasi gula pasir putih yaitu 20%, 30%, dan 40% yang digunakan sebagai zat aktif sabun cuci piring selama 12 hari. Membuat sediaan sabun cuci piring yang terdiri dari basis sabun cuci piring atau kontrol negatif, larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi 20%.30%, dan 40%. Persiapan bahan utama dan pelengkap. Menguji aktivitas antibakteri gram positif maupun negatif dari sediaan sabun cuci piring yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang. Kontrol positif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sabun cuci piring yang telah tersedia dipasaran dan berfungsi sebagai pembanding yang lebih baik daripada kontrol negatif berupa basis sabun cuci piring dan sediaan sabun cuci tangan yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi 20% dan 30%. Analisis data dilakukan secara statistik yaitu ANOVA satu jalur berupa rata-rata diameter zona hambat pada masing-masing sedian sabun dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dilanjut dengan uji pos hoc karena memiliki perbedaan secara signifikan dan bermakna diantara perlakuan. Hasil penelitian telah membuktikan bahwa konsentrasi 40% pada sediaan sabun cuci piring merupakan konsentrasi terbaik jika dibandingkan dengan kontrol positif maupun negatif juga konsentrasi 20% maupun 30% dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri gram positif maupun negatif, sehingga berpotensi sebagai terobosan terbaru pada produk bioteknologi farmasi.
