Abstract

Pengontrolan berbasis mikrokontroler merupakan suatu teknologi elektronika yang memungkinkan suatu sistem dapat dikontrol secara otomatis. Semakin meningkatkannya manusia dalam melakukan perjalanan, terutama dengan menggunakan transportasi darat berupa kereta api. Maka tingkat keselamatan dalam perjalanan perlu diperhatikan. Pada model transportasi kereta api, tingat kecelakaan di palang pintu perlintasan sangat tinggi, disebabkan tidak adanya palang pintu atau palang pintu masih dioperasikan secara manual. Dengan memanfaatkan teknologi mikrokontroler, dibuat suatu prototype pada palang pintu perlintasan kereta api yang akan menutup dan membuka secara otomatis. Prototype ini ditempatkan di pinggir rel kereta api, jika kereta api akan melewati perlintasan maka sensor suara akan medeteksi dan mengirimkan sinyal ke kendali mikrokontroler untuk menutup palang pintu dan menyalakan indikator merah. Jika sensor suara mengalami kegagalan, maka sensor infra merah yang difungsikan sebagai cadangan akan menggantikan fungsi dari sensor suara. Setelah kereta api melewati pintu perlintasan, sensor ketiga yaitu sensor infra merah aktif untuk mengirim sinyal ke kendali mikrokontroler untuk membuka palang pintu dan menyalakan indikator hijau pada traffic light.

Abstract

Brown cane sugar is traditionally produced by small enterprises at DesaBlang Mancung (Ketol District, Aceh Tengah Regency), one of them is Sara Ate Enterpriserun by a group of local young men since 2010. The product is purchased by food industriesin Medan and used as ingredients. However, its price was rather low around Rp. 5000,-per kilogram due to high content solid impurities. In this work, we introduced an improveddesign of solid separation equiment to remove un-dissolved content of the brown canesugar juice. A two stage stainless steel screen was applied to filter solids from the juice.The screen also separated entrained bagasse. The filtrate was then flowed to a settler thatallows further separation of solids such as sand or clay. To minimize possibility ofimpurities entrainment during cooking process, the furnace was also modified by usingconcrete construction. As the result, much better brown cane sugar was produced withmuch lower solid impurities (2.2% w/w) and brighter appearance, thus complying grade IISNI 01-6237-2000 .

Abstract

Soil physical properties strongly interrelate with the soils capability. Strength and carrying capacity of soils, ability fasten water absorb, drainage, penetration of root plant, aeration, and nutrient capture are mainly influenced by physical properties of the soils. Ebony species is classified into family of Ebenaceae that can have 40 m of height with 100 cm of breast height diameter and 4 m of buttress root. The objective of the research is to know the physical properties of the soils in the dale, inclined part, and top of the hill covered by ebony stand at West Kasimbar Village, Kasimbar sub district, Parigi Mautong district trough the period of April to June 2014. The methods of the research are filed orientation, deciding the soils sampling points below the stand and soils analysis in the laboratory. Purposive sampling was used to decide the locations of soil samples that were in the dale of the hill with 92 m of altitude, inclined part of the hill with 122m of altitude, and top of the hill with 130 m of altitude. Research location was in S: 00o07’24.4’’ and E: 199o56’52.5”. The results of the research are the soils textur of the soil samples of the three parts of the hill are similar that is clay. The soils of the dale has 1,39 cm/hour of permeability, the inclined part: 6,08 cm/hour, and the top: 2,36 cm/hour. Soil porosity in the dale is 46,75%, 45,77% in inclined part, and 44,75% in the top. Bulk density of the soils in the dale is 1,41 gr/cm3, 1,44 gr/cm3 in the inclined part, and 1,46 gr/cm3 in the top. Organic matter of the soils is 3,08% in the dale, 2,45% in the inclined part, and 2,76% in the top. Keywords: soil physical properties, stand, ebony.

Abstract

We propose by means of an example of applications of the classical Lagrange Multiplier Method for computing fold bifurcation point of an equilibrium ina one-parameter family of dynamical systems. We have used the fact that an equilibrium of a system, geometrically can be seen as an intersection between nullcline manifolds of the system. Thus, we can view the problem of two collapsing equilibria as a constrained optimization problem, where one of the nullclines acts as the cost function while the other nullclines act as the constraints.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan peningkatan hasil belajar dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa Biologi Universitas Serambi Mekkah Banda Aceh. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Posttest Control Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Semester tiga Prodi Biologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018terhadap 19 mahasiswa.Analisis data eksperimen untuk mengukur hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan uji-t (Independent Sample t-test) dan keterampilan berpikir kritis menggunakan analisis deskripsi persentase, program statistic software computer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan nilai rata-rata N-gain untuk kelas Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBM) adalah 60,64 (sedang) dan kelas konvensional adalah 48,72 (sedang). Hasil uji-t diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 4,61 dan t tabel 2,009 sehingga t- hitung > t- tabel. Hasil penyebaran angket tentang keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata 95% (kategori sangat baik).Maka dapat disimpulkan diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap peningkatanhasil belajar dan hubungan yang rendah denganketerampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada perkuliahan Zoologi Invertebrata di Universitas Serambi Mekkah Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Esterification of glycerol with acetic acid under microwave irradiation in the presence of activated natural zeolite was investigated. Natural zeolite was collected from Ujung Pancu (Aceh Besar) and chemically activated with hydrochloric acid. The reaction was carried out in a stirred glass flask reactor placed inside microwave oven. Experimental variables include microwave transmission time, molar ratio of glycerol to acetic acid, and catalyst loading. XRD profile of activated zeolite showed an increase of Si/Al ratio to 6.042 and the crystallinity decreased slightly by 12.23%, mainly due to dealumination during chemical treatment. Qualitative analysis by FTIR shows that the reaction product obtained by microwave heating contains ester group (triacetin) at wavelength 1706.669 cm-1, while the quantitative analysis by acidi-alkalimetry titration indicates the highest glycerol conversion of 93.033% at the reaction condition of the molar ratio of 1:9, catalyst loading of 3%, and microwave transmission of 10 minutes. The present work suggests that microwave can be utilized as efficient heating technique in esterification of glycerol to triacetin.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the influence of shunt capacitor on losses of interconnection system of Sulselrabar transmission lines. In this study, DIgSILENT Power Factory 15.1 software is used to simulate the power flow in the system under study. There are three conditions applied in this study; real condition, in condition of all capacitors activated and in condition of all capacitors inactivated. Obtained results show that there are differences in the value of the losses among these three conditions, where the lowest losses is occurred at the second condition with 1,69% and the highest losses occurred at the third condition with 1,76%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan kemampuan representasi matematis dan Self Confindece siswa SMP melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang siswa kelas VII. Pengambilan siswa berdasarkan hasil tes dan konsultasi dengan guru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes dan wawancara semi terstruktur. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data kemampuan representasi matematis selama proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL berupa hasil tes individu setiap pertemuan, sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data Self Confidece siswa berupa angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model PBL dapat membantu menumbuhkan perkembangan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa terlihat dari hasil tes individu setiap pertemuan dan hasil wawancara semi terstruktur siswa. Meskipun siswa belum dapat memenuhi semua indikator yang diukur, namun terlihat sebahagian besar siswa telah dapat memenuhi sebahagian besar  indikator representasi matematis yaitu (1) menyajikan data atau informasi dari suatu masalah ke representasi gambar, diagram, grafik atau tabel, (2) menyelesaikan masalah yang melibatkan ekspresi matematis. Hanya satu indikator kemampuan representasi matematis yang tidak terpenuhi yaitu  menuliskan langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah matematika. Kemampuan Self Confindece siswa mengalami perkembangan secara klasikal dan memiliki dampak positif terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran PBL sesuai dengan indikator Self Confindece. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran tentang pentingnya melatih siswa menjawab soal non-routin melalui pembelajaran. Tantangan bagi guru untuk membiasakan siswa merepresentasi dan  melakukan langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah secara sistematis serta memiliki kepercayaan diri dalam menjawab soal. Pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan guru berpengaruh terhadap terbentuknya kebiasaan siswa. Katakunci : kemampuan representasi matematis, self confindece,model PBL This research is to know the development of mathematical representation abilities and self-confidence of junior high school students through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model.This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects used in this research isthe  students of Junior High School at class VII. The students are taking by consultation with the teacher. Data collection was performed using semi-structured tests and interviews.The instrument used to obtain mathematical representation ability data during the learning process by using the PBL learning model in the form of individual test results at each meeting, while the instrument used to obtain students' Self Confidence data in the form of a questionnaire.The results was  showed that learn with the PBL model can help students to grow the development of students 'mathematical representation abilities seen from the results of individual tests at each meeting and the results of students' semi-structured interviews. Although students have not been able to meet all the measured indicators, it appears that most students have been able to meet most of the mathematical representation indicators, namely (1) presenting data or information from a problem to the representation of images, diagrams, graphs or tables, (2) solving problems that involves mathematical expressions. Only one indicator of mathematical representation ability that is not fulfilled is to write steps to solve mathematical problems. The ability of Self Confindece students have developed classically and has a positive impact on the ability of students' mathematical representation of the PBL learning process in accordance with the Self Confindece indicator. This study provides an overview of the importance of training students to answer non-routin problems through learning. The challenge for the teacher is to get the students to represent and take steps to solve problems systematically and have confidence in answering questions. Abstract

In this paper we derived a modification of the model of waves evolution in two-directional spatial coordinates. Using KP equation as the basic model, we improved dispersive property in spatial x coordinate and named it as improved KP (iKP) equation. iKP has an exact dispersion relation in spatial x coordinate. Using this model, we derived second order regular waves and  analyzed the expression of Maximum Temporal Amplitude.

Abstract

Mathematical achievement in problem solving is not yet as expected. This is due to strategies that have not accommodated the situation of students.  Adversity quontient is the state of the student who needs to get the attention of the teacher so that the learning strategy is expected to be appropriate. This research aims to describe the thinking process of MTs Darul Hikmah students in solving mathematical problems in build side spaces of material reviewed from adversity quotient. This research is in the form of qualitative. The subject selection was done by giving questionnaires to class VIII MTsS Darul Hikmah students and obtained by each one person from each adversity quotient group. The subjects in this study amounted to two students. Data collection is done through tests and interviews, while data analysis uses qualitative data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data display and conclusions from each adversity quotient group. The results showed that no class VIII students entered the quitters group and the results of the study also showed that class VIII students consisted of climpers and campers. The process of thinking of MTsS Darul Hikmah students based on adversity quotient varied: students in the climbers category namely 3 of 53 students had conceptual thinking processes, while students in the campers category were 27 of 53 students did not have conceptual, semiceptual, or computational thinking processes.
