Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect ofmedium comparison (Topsoil : Effluent) and get the best dose giving NPK fertilizer on oil palm seedling at main nursery. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau on April 2015 until July 2015. This research was arranged on using Completely Rendomized Design (CDR) with two factorial: Factor 1;medium comparison , E0 (10kgTopsoil : 0 kg Effluent), E1 (9 kg Topsoil : 1 kg Effluent), E2 (8 kg Topsoil : 2 kg Effluent), E3 (7 kg Topsoil : 3 kg Effluent), E4 (6 kg Topsoil : 4 kg Effluent). Factor II; N0 (NPK 5 g/polybag), N1( NPK 10 g/polybag), N2 (NPK 15 g/polybag) and replicated 3 times, so abtained 45 unit experiment. Parameter observed were the accretion of plant heigh, accretion of stump diameter, accretion of leaves number, root shoot ratio and dry weight. The result showed that medium comparison(Topsoil : Effluent) and giving NPK fertilizer interaction effect on accretion of leaves number, but not significantly on accretion of plant heigh, accretionof stump diameter, root shoot ratio and dry weight. The best result shows on 6 kg Topsoil : 4 kg Effluent and NPK 15 g /polybag.Effluent treatment on oil palm seedling effect to all parameters, whereas on the NPK giving effect to all parameters except the accretionof stump diameter and root shoot ratio. Abstract

The aim of riset of Nitrogen fertilizer and Palm Oil Empty Bunches (POEB) compost mixture with boiler ash to increase growth and rice yield. Research was conducted at Pulau Rambai village, Kampar, from December 2012 to March 2013. The method used Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) factorial consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the provision of 5 tons of compost and boiler ash which consists of 4 levels that are0, 500, 750, and 1000 kg/ha. The second factor of nitrogen fertilizer with 2 level,(100 kg N/ha and 200 kg N/ha ). On this research obtained 8 treatment combination with 3 replications. Research result indicate that the provision of 5 tons of compost and 1000 kg/ha boiler ash ash followed by N fertilizer significantly different on  plant height, maximum number oftillers, number of productive tillers, grain weight. Abstract

Goverment formed KKPA plantation system to develop palm oil plant in Indonesia, however lack of availability fertile land conduce peatlans as alternative to use as growth media palm oil plant. Peatland has some weakness, that are low soil pH and nutrient, therefore it is required nutrient supply as fertilizer. Implementation of fertilization should pay attention to 5 factors: right kind, dose, frequency, quality and fertilization techniques. This research aims to know implementation of fertilization, cultivation techniques and productivity of palm oil plant KKPA plantation system on peatlands in Rokan Hilir and Siak regency. This research use survey method and determination population in Stratified Random Sampling and number sample of farmer respondents 10% from populations. Variable of observation are seedlings, land preparation, cultivation, palm oil plant maintenance, fertilization and harvesting. The result show that KKPA farmer in Rokan Hilir regency only 39,27% which following fertilization concept while in Siak regency 63,29%. Harvest farmer in Rokan Hilir regency as much as       747,6 kg/ha/month which harvest result in Siak regency as much as              1.126,7 kg/ha/month.   Keywords: Palm oil, KKPA and Fertilization.

Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a plantation commodity which plays important role in economics of Indonesia. Palm oil can grow at various ground type by paying attention to the soil characteristics including soil biology. Soil biology like existence of soil macrofauna depend on availibility of energy such as organic matter and decomposed it, so that can maintain the soil productivity. This research aims to determine the effect of organic matters and to determine the better of organic matters for soil macrofauna and palm oil growth. This research has been conducted at the experimental farm of Agricultural Faculty Riau University on May to August 2015. This research was carried out experimentally by using randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatments (without organic matter, palm oil empty fruit bunch, sawdust and congongrass of 10 kg/plant) and 6 replications, so there are 24 experimental units.The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by further test DNMRT at 5% level. The result showed that the application of 10 kg/plant sawdustgave the best for number of individu, number of type and population densityof soil macrofauna. The application of 10 kg/plant palm oil empty fruit bunch showed the best results for increasing of plant height, increasing number of fronds, increasing of fronds length and increasing of leaves. Organic matter which showed the best result for soil macrofauna was not show the best results for oil palm growth.   Keywords : organic matters, soil macrofauna, palm oil

Abstract

Rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is one of the strategic agricultural commodities for the economy in Indonesia, both in increasing revenue planters, providing jobs for residents, preserve the environment and also as a source of foreign exchange. The use of the subsoil is expected to produce good growth of rubber seedlings which when mixed application of organic fertilizers. Through the use of organic fertilizers is expected to increase the holding power of water, nutrients and repair donated soil aggregates. This study experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replicates so entirely as many as 25 experimental units. Each unit consists of 2 plants as well as a sample, so that the overall number of 50 plants. Data obtained from the results of the study were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) at the 5% level. Parameters measured were seedling height increment (cm), stem diameter increment (cm), in the number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), root volume (ml), seedling dry weight (g) and the ratio of the root crown. The mixture of subsoil with organic fertilizer oil palm empty fruit bunches of the best shows on rubber seedlings (Hevea brasiliensis). Keywords: Rubber, Organic Fertilizer, media on grafting subsoil

Abstract

The purpose of this research to investigated influence of ameliorant mixture (calsite lime, krinyuh green manure and natural rock phosphate) toward some varieties upland rice on Ultisol soil and get the best ameliorant mixture for increase the productivity of upland rice. Research conducted in BiologicalControl Community (Biccom) field, (UPT) research farm in Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University on Bina Widya Campus Km 12,5 Simpang BaruSub-district, Tampan District, Pekanbaru from December 2014 till May 2015. This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design Factorials consist of 3 levels varieties: Inpago 8, Situ Patenggang and Situ Bagenditand 5 levels ameliorants mixture : K0 (without ameliorant mixture), K1 (24,99 lime g+krinyuh green manure 12,49 g/polybag), K2 (lime 24,99 g +  BFA 12,49 g/polybag), K3 (krinyuh green manure 12,49 g+BFA12,49 g/polybag) and K4 (lime 24,99 g+krinyuh green manure 12,49 g+BFA 12,49 g/polybag) and then obtained 15 experimental units with 3 sample each unit. Parameter observed of plant height, maximum tillering amount, flowering time, penicle length, productive tillering amount, harvest time, 1000 grain weight, percentage of grain pithy, dried grain weight, weight dry straw plant and ratio of grain and straw. Resultsanalysis of variancefollowed by Duncantest at 5%. Theresults ofthis research concluded givingmixtureameliorantexhibitdifferentresponsestovarietiesInpago8, Situ PatenggangandSitu Bagenditand allobservationparameters. Givingmixtureameliorant green manure krinyuh12,49g+BFA12,49g/polybag can usedas an ameliorantonUltisoltoincreasegrowthand production ofupland rice. Abstract

The development of mungbean seed is affected by the seed filling process. The objective of this research was to know the effect of phosphate dosage toward quality of mungbeen seed during its development within harvesting time (15, 20, 25, and 30 days after flowering). The research was carried out in Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Riau and Seed Test was carried out in Plant Breeder Laboratory which lasted for three months (September-November 2006). This research used Complete Randomized Block Design with four treatments and three replications and Duncan New Multiple Range Test (5%). The treatments were P1=80 kg TSP/ha, P2=90 kg TSP/ha, P3=100 kg TSP/ha, P4=110 kg TSP/ha. Parameters measured were index value test, first count test, standard germination test, and root and shoot growth test at harvest age of 15, 20, 25, and 30 days after flowering. The application of phosphate of 100 kg TSP/ha provided the best result for quality of mungbeen seed. Key Words : mungbeen, viability, vigor, seed quality
