Abstract

Research giving of filter cake on sawdust medium for the cultivation of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) aims to increase the production of oyster mushroom to the best, and determine the best dose will increase the production. This research has been conducted in the village of Kubang raya of Siak Hulu Kampar district in Riau Province in July through September of 2013 this research was carried out experimentally using a complete randomized design (CRD) comprising administering a dose of 5 treatments in the filter cake: Without giving a dry filter cake (control), giving 20 g / baglog, 40 g / baglog, 60 g / baglog, 80 g / baglog. The data obtained were further tested by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Results of analysis of variance showed that administration can affect the filter cake and enhance the enjoyment of the production. The use of a dose of 60 g of filter cake on sawdust medium gave the highest production of oyster mushrooms is 149.33 g / baglog. Abstract

The oil palm plant (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is one of the commodities star in the plantation subsector. The development of oil palm plantation area in Indonesia, especially in Riau has increased quite rapidly from year to year. This can be seen from the total area of oil palm plantations in Riau which is one of the largest palm oil producer in Indonesia. An increase in demand for processed oil palm products, encourage the district government made effort to improve the well-being of people through the program of economic based oil palm plantations. The objective of the research is to study the technical the cultivation and productivity of oil palm plants by the district government Rohil and Siak. The research has been conducted in Rantau Bais village, Tanah Putih district, Rokan Hilir and Kotoringin village, Mempura district, Siak for 3 months from June 2014 to August 2014. This research use sampling technique survey method, determining of location research purposive and random sampling, descriptive analysis presented in the form of list or tables observation. The results of the research showed cultivation technical in Siak more than reference on the recommendations made PPKS than Rokan Hilir, resulting in differences in productivity in both the district. The highest FFB production in Rokan Hilir is 890.2 kg/ha and the lowest FFB production is 679.7 kg/ha. The highest FFB production in Siak is 1.209.2 kg/ha and the lowest FFB production is 877.5 kg/ha. Keywords: Technical cultivation, oil palm productivity, Rokan Hilir and Siak

Abstract

The research aimed to improve the growth, production of sawi and get better dose. The research carried out in the Technical Services Unit Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from January to February 2014 and conducted experiments used Randomized Block Design (RBD) is P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 (without organic fertilizer, green manure Calopogonium muccunoides 20 ton / ha (3 kg / plot), chicken manure 20 ton / ha (3 kg / plot), green manure  Calopogonium muccunoides 10 ton / ha + ½ urea recommended and chicken manure 10 ton / ha + ½ urea recommended). The parameters measured were plant height, leaf area, leaf number, fresh weight and fresh weight for consumption. The data were analyzed used analysis of variance and continued DNMRT at 5% level. The result showed that 1,5 kg chicken manure + ½ urea recommended and green manure Calopogonium muccunoides 1,5 kg + ½ urea recommended better dose for the growth and production of sawi.   Keywords: urea fertilizer, organic fertilizer, sawi

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effect of liquid waste biogas in the topsoil and subsoil media, and to determine  theappropriate dosage for the growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) plant seeds in main nursery.The research was done in a Completely Randomized Designwith two factors and was replicated three times. The first factor is the liquid waste biogas and the second factor is difference medium layer. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested using Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The parameters observed were the increment of seeds height (cm), leaf number (midrib), tuber diameter (cm), ratio of the root crown (g), dry weight of seedling (g) and quality index of palm oil plant seeds (g).Combination the application of liquid waste biogas with top soil and sub soil were not significantly to all parameters. The combination liquid waste biogas dose of 300 ml/plant with top soil media tends to gave the best results. The application of liquid waste biogas showed the real impact on the leaf number accretion,tuber diameter, dry weight of seedlings and ratio of the root with crown.The application of liquid waste biogas dose of 300 ml/plant showed the best growth increment to oil palm seedlings varieties of topaz aged 3-6 month. Used of top soil media showed the good effect on dry weight of plant seed oil palm age 6 months. Key word: liquid waste biogas, sub soil, top soil and oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of rice husk ash and empty oil palm bunches (EOPB) compost on the growth and production of field rice at hall of oil palm area on peatland. The research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agricultural Faculty University of Riau, Rimbo Panjang, Kampar from June to October 2014. The design used in this research are arranged in a Factorial Completely Randomized Block Design (RBD) consiting of two factor with three replication. The first factor are: Aplication of rice husk ash (S) with 4 dosage level (tons/ha), namely: S0 (0), S1 (2,5), S2 (5), S3 (7,5) and the second faktor are: Aplication of empty full bunch compost (T) with 3 dosage level (tons/ha), namely: T0 (0), T1 (2,5), T2 (5). The data obtained by analysis of variance (ANOVA) was tested further by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The result showed the aplication of rice husk ash 5 tons/ha and empty oil palm bunches compost 5 tons/ha gives the highest yield in vegetative and generative phase, but equal by aplication of rice husk ash 0 tons/ha and empty oil palm bunches compost 5 tons/ha in generative phase. Empty oil palm bunches compost          5 tons/ha without rice husk ash did not differ significantly with the aplication of rice husk ash 5 – 7,5 tons/ha and empty oil palm bunches compost 5 tons/ha at dry weight /plot. Abstract

This research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau started in April to June 2015. This study aims to look at the provision of bio-slurry, nitrogen fertilizer and interactionbetween the provision of bio-slurryandnitrogenfertilizerandto get thebestcombinationforgrowth and crop productionof pakchoy. Field experiment using a completely randomized factorial design, where 0, 2, 4, 6 liters/m2 of bio-slurry as the first factor and 0, 15, 25 g/m2of nitrogen fertilizer as the second factor. This study uses 12 combinations, 3 replications and 4 plant samples. Parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, weight of plants per plot, weight inveterate consumable plants and plant dry weight. Data results are then tested further variance with Duncan multiple test at 5%level. The results showed that the interaction of bio-slurry and nitrogen fertilizer treatment increased the plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, weight of plants per plot, plant fresh weight and dry weight consumable crops. Pakchoy production is highest in the treatment of 2 liters/m2 of bio-slurry and 15 grams/m2 ofnitrogen fertilizer. Keywords: bio-slurry, nitrogen fertilizer,pakchoy

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of the growth of oil palm seedlings and how much nitrogen can reserve by oil palm seedlings on different organic fertilizer sources with some planting medium. This research has done in experimental plantation Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from October until December 2012. This research used completely randomized factorial design with two treatment factors and three replications. The first factor was source of residue effect of different organic fertilizer include P0: without fertilizer, P1: bird’s manure, P2: Sludge fertilizer, P3: liquid organic fertilizer. The second factor was plant medium as T1: PMK soil, T2: Peat soil, T3: the combination of PMK soil and Peat Soil 50:50. The result showed that the best treatment was of residue effect of liquid organic fertilizer in PMK and Peat soil medium because its can be inclined grow up plant height, stump diameter, amount of leaves, root volume, seedling dry weight and the reserve of nitrogen. Treatment of plant medium was not significant for all parameters. Interaction between the two treatments significantly effect plant height, seedling dry weight and the reserve of nitrogen, but non significantly for amount of leaves, stump diameter and root volume. Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine growth and production of baby kailan (Brassica alboglabra L.) with giving Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm and get the best treatment for growt hand production of baby kailan. This research was conducted at the land of the Laboratory of Plants of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau for 2 months. The research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisted of 5 treatments with four replications. The Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm treat ments as follows: P0 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 0 ton/ha, P1 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 3 ton/ha, P2 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 6 ton/ha, P3 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 9 ton/ha and P4 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 12 ton/ha. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and further test DNMRT at 5% level. Parameters observed were: plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, plant fresh weight per plot and weight of crop suitable for consumption per plot. The results showed application of Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm significantly affect to all parameters tested. The treatment of Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 12 ton/ha is the best concentration for all parameters tested. Keyword : Brassica alboglabra L., tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm

Abstract

Dragon fruit (Hylocereus costaricensis) is one of fruit trees that grow well in Indonesia, so it has a great chance to be developed. These opportunities must be balanced with the supply of seed. Cuttings material and Growth Regulator Substance (GRS) concentration a factor that must be considered in the cultivation of seedlings  because it will affect the growth of it in the field. The research was conducted at  dragon fruit plantation Tameran village Bengkalis regency. The time used in this research lasted from August to December 2012. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 3 x 3 factorial with 3 replication. The first factor is the length cuttings, which is 20 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm. While the second factor is the GRS concentration, which is 6 g/10 ml, 9 g/10 ml and 12 g/10 ml. The parameters measured were the time appeared root, root length, number of roots, root volume, time appeared shoot, shoot length, number of shoots seedling fresh weight gain and dry weight of seedlings. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested by further testing (DNMRT) level of 5%. Results shows of the best dragon fruit seedlings growing on a combination between the 30 cm long cuttings with 9g/10 ml GRS concentration. Keywords: Dragon fruit, long cuttings, GRS concentration.

Abstract

Soybean has the high social economic velue and its part more strategic in the human life. The request of the seed and the production of soybean to be increasing along with the growth of society and the concumption per capita and also the increasing of the food nutrition of society condition. One of the effort to increase the productivity of soybean plant can using the manures. By giving Janjang dust of oil palm as the manure can increase the calium stock in the ground/land and then it can increase the calium absorbtion by plant. The act of cultivation/agriculture rubbish like the Janjang dust of the oil plam as manure can increase the production cost and also the plant management goodly and its cost is cheaper than KCl manure or the others calium manures. The purpose of this research to know the effect of the giving of Janjang dust of oil palm and to determine the good dose toward the growth and the production of the soybean plant. This research is done in the technician unit experiment of cultivation/agriculture faculty of Riau University. This research is started from November 2009 until February 2010. This research is done by using the complete random design (RAL) that consist of six treatments and four test, so it is gotten twenty four experiments. Every the Janjang dust treatment that given are A0= without janjang dust of oil palm, A1= 0,08 gram per plant (32 kg/ha), A2= 0,16 gram per plant (64 kg/ha), A3= 0,24 gram per plant (96 kg/ha), A4= 0,32 gram per plant (128 kg/ha), and A5= 0,4 gram per plant (160 kg/ha). The measured parameter is the high of plant (cm), the number of the effective leguminusae (fruit), the age of plant begin to flower (HST), the age of harvest (HST), the number of primary branch (fruit), the percentage of polong bernas (%), the weight of 100 dry seed (gram) and the weight of the dry seed (gram). The result of this research shown that the Janjang dust of oil palm treatment with dose 0,4 gram per plant (160 kg/ha) give the good effect for plant (cm), the number of the effevtive leguminusae (plant), the age of harvest (HST), the number of primary branch (fruit), the percentage of polong (%), the weight 100 dry seed and the weight of dry seed per, if seen by the growth and the production sides.   Keyword: Soybean Plant, Oil Palm,
