Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine growth and production of baby kailan (Brassica alboglabra L.) with giving Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm and get the best treatment for growt hand production of baby kailan. This research was conducted at the land of the Laboratory of Plants of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau for 2 months. The research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisted of 5 treatments with four replications. The Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm treat ments as follows: P0 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 0 ton/ha, P1 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 3 ton/ha, P2 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 6 ton/ha, P3 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 9 ton/ha and P4 : Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 12 ton/ha. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and further test DNMRT at 5% level. Parameters observed were: plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, plant fresh weight per plot and weight of crop suitable for consumption per plot. The results showed application of Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm significantly affect to all parameters tested. The treatment of Tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm 12 ton/ha is the best concentration for all parameters tested. Keyword : Brassica alboglabra L., tricho-compost empty bunch of oil palm

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays var. Saccharata Sturt) is one of the crops which liked by people because it has a good taste, and sweeter than ordinary corn. One of the effort that can be do to improve and increase soil fertility is apply bioslurry organic fertilizer. Bioslurry is the end product of the animal waste processing for biogas energy.  Bioslurry containing elements that need for sweet corn such as N, P, K. This study aimed to know the effect of bioslurry and get the best dose of bioslurry on the growth and production of sweet corn. This research was experimently using a randomized block design (RBD), which consists of 6 treatments and 4 replications. Parameters measured were plant height (cm), number of leaves (pieces), flowers appear male and female flowers (HST), weight cob with husk and without husk (gram), cob diameter (cm) and production per plot (gram). The results showed that the bioslurry fertilizer application significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, flowers appear male and female flowers, weight cob with husk and cob without husk, cob diameter, and production per plot. Application at dose  of  7.5 liters / 4.5 m² give the best results on the growth and production of sweet corn than other treatments.   Keywords: sweet corn, bioslurry fertilizer

Abstract

The development of food production nowadays is only focused on the rice field yard. But in fact, Indonesia still has many potentials to produce the food in the rate of 14%.Indonesian Agriculture Ministry determines “Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari (KRPL)” program which is applied by a women group, named Kurnia Harapan, which is located in Palas, Rumbai, Pekanbaru.This research aims to analyze the implementation of “KRPL” program, to find out the application of yard production system, and to find out the factors which affect the implementation of “Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari (KRPL)”.This research was conducted by using survey method and was analyzed statistically by using multiple linear regression.The research findings show that 83,3% of the implementation is categorized into medium category. The age, the range of the area, the family size and their wages as many as 34,5%, while another is affected by the other factors out of the model.The implementation of productin system has point to the general orientation of “Badan Litbang Pertanian”, but it is not determined yet for multilevel model in this women group.The factors which affect the implementation are the water availability, the medium and infrastructure, the cultivation knowledge, and the information access.   Keywords: Implementation, “Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari (KRPL)”.

Abstract

One alternative land for oil palm cultivation is tidal land, but many abstacles tidal land for the cultivation of plan on agronomic, pattern of wichh the water system and the limitations of physical and chemical condtions, aluminium, low fertility and salinity toxicity. To overcome these problems is necessary for an appropriate processing technologie and efficient, one of them is with the proper fertilizer. Purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of palm fertilizer made by the comunity on tidal land in the district of Rokan Hilir Bangko Pusako. This research was conducted in tidal land and village right Bangko and Bangko districts left Pusako Rokan Hilir. This study uses survey method and technique of determining the population as on object of study usingPurposiveRandom Samplingmethod. Sample size of at least 5% of the total population that is determined proportionally, the data implementation fertilization and cultivation techniques were analyzed kualitatif and are tabulated in table form. Seen from fertilization concept that farmers have not been doing fertilizing with right timing with presentation as 87,5%, the recommended dose 100%, type of fertilizer I needed plant5%,how fertilization100% and quality manner fertilizer 5%, growth resulting oil palm farmers growth sample is not optimal, as yellowing leaves, young leaves, young leaves or shoots broken, drid up old leaves, leaf curl or wrinkle, rods, small hump and draw plant and were cultivated by the optimal growth of plantation service like leaf green, fully, developed leaves, bigger trunk, large tubers and plant are not stunted. Abstract

The research aims to determine the best  dose of the extract for growth and production Mustard Green ( Brassica juncea.L). The experiments conductedin the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from October to December 2011. Research used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications, namely T0: With out giving Tithonia diversifolia extract, T1: 1500 ml/plot, T2: 2000 ml/plot, T3: 2500 ml/plot and T4: 3000ml/plot. Parameters observed that plant height, leaf area, number of leaves, plant fresh weight, plant weight consumed per sample and root volume. The results  showed Tithonia diversifolia extract dose 3000ml/plot is best for the growth and production of  mustard green (Brassica junceae.L). Abstract

The oil palm plant (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is one of the commodities star in the plantation subsector. The development of oil palm plantation area in Indonesia, especially in Riau has increased quite rapidly from year to year. This can be seen from the total area of oil palm plantations in Riau which is one of the largest palm oil producer in Indonesia. An increase in demand for processed oil palm products, encourage the district government made effort to improve the well-being of people through the program of economic based oil palm plantations. The objective of the research is to study the technical the cultivation and productivity of oil palm plants by the district government Rohil and Siak. The research has been conducted in Rantau Bais village, Tanah Putih district, Rokan Hilir and Kotoringin village, Mempura district, Siak for 3 months from June 2014 to August 2014. This research use sampling technique survey method, determining of location research purposive and random sampling, descriptive analysis presented in the form of list or tables observation. The results of the research showed cultivation technical in Siak more than reference on the recommendations made PPKS than Rokan Hilir, resulting in differences in productivity in both the district. The highest FFB production in Rokan Hilir is 890.2 kg/ha and the lowest FFB production is 679.7 kg/ha. The highest FFB production in Siak is 1.209.2 kg/ha and the lowest FFB production is 877.5 kg/ha. Keywords: Technical cultivation, oil palm productivity, Rokan Hilir and Siak

Abstract

The research aims to study the land degradation as impact agricultural biomass production  Sub-district Kuala Cenaku Indragiri Hulu, Riau Province. The research was carried out with methods of soil survey. Based on field observations that guided map and global positioning observation 4 point to the use of agricultural biomass production and 5 points on the production of forest biomass as a control. Based on Government Regulation No. 7/2006, land quality in Kuala Cenaku is not degradation criteria by agricultural biomass production. In General, value of parameters subsidence, pirit, ground water depth, pH, redox, electric conductivity, bulk density and particle density of the agricultural biomass production is higher than the production of biomass forestry. However, the value of the number of microbes, solum thickness, permeability, moisture content and porosity in agricultural biomass production is lower than on the production of biomass forestry. Abstract

The research aimed to improve the growth, production of sawi and get better dose. The research carried out in the Technical Services Unit Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from January to February 2014 and conducted experiments used Randomized Block Design (RBD) is P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 (without organic fertilizer, green manure Calopogonium muccunoides 20 ton / ha (3 kg / plot), chicken manure 20 ton / ha (3 kg / plot), green manure  Calopogonium muccunoides 10 ton / ha + ½ urea recommended and chicken manure 10 ton / ha + ½ urea recommended). The parameters measured were plant height, leaf area, leaf number, fresh weight and fresh weight for consumption. The data were analyzed used analysis of variance and continued DNMRT at 5% level. The result showed that 1,5 kg chicken manure + ½ urea recommended and green manure Calopogonium muccunoides 1,5 kg + ½ urea recommended better dose for the growth and production of sawi.   Keywords: urea fertilizer, organic fertilizer, sawi

Abstract

A research has done on the effect of the combination green manure Azolla pinnata R.Br. with chicken manure toward the growth and production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in the experiment garden of Agriculture Faculty in University of Riau. The aim of this research is to determine or to know the best combination of Azolla pinnata provision of green manure with chicken manure on the growth and production of lettuce in two planting periods. The research was conducted with two planting periods and experimentally by using completely randomized design with seven treatments that consists of : P0 = no treatment, P1 = 5 tons of Azolla + 10 tons of chicken manure, P2 = 5 tons of Azolla + 15 ton of chicken manure, P3 = 10 tons of Azolla + 10 tons of chicken manure, P4 = 10 tons of Azolla + 15 tons of chicken manure, P5 = 15 tons of Azolla + 10 tons of chicken manure, P6 = 15 tons of Azolla + 15 tons of chicken manure. The result of the research showed combination treatment influential significantly affected all parameters and treatment 15 tons/ha of Azolla with 10 tons/ha of chicken manure give a the best result on the all planting. The result of the research showed a decrease in each parameters on the second planting. Key words : Azolla, chicken manure, lettuce
