Abstract

Soybean contains high protein that the yield can be increased as  intercrops in oil palm plantation. The purpose of this research was to study the application of compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) to physical characteristic and production of soybean as intercrops among in oil palm plantation. The research was conducted in oil palm plantation, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from February to May 2014. The resecarch carried out experiments used a randomized block design, as treatment is the application of compost of OPEFB that consist of 4 levels (0, 5, 10 and 15 tons/ha), each of treatment repeated 3 times. The effect of each treatment was known Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The result of this research showed that the application of compost of OPEFB with a dose of 5, 10 and 15 tons/ha effected to physical characteristic of soil such as: expedite permeability, increase the water content and the infiltration rate, but not effected to the bulk density and pore space total. The application of compost of OPEFB 5 tons/ha increase the number of pods, pod percentage pithy, weight of 100 seeds and yield per plot are not significant compared with without compost. The increase the dose of compost of OPEFB to 10 to 15 tons/ha has no effected on all parameter.   Keywords: Soybean, compost of oil palm empity fruit bunches, physical characteristic of soil

Abstract

This research aims to study the composition of the mixture of compost of oil palm empty fruit bunch (Compost of OPEFB), boiler ash and trichoderma on the growth aud yeilds of soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) in oil palm plantations on peatlands. The experiment was conducted in the Kualu Nenas village, district of Kampar, Riau Province. Experiments used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 9 treatments, A (without treatment), B (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB)/plots, C (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB + 156 g boiler ash)/plots, D (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB + 312 g boiler ash)/plots, E (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB + 468 g boiler ash)/plots, F (1,56 kg compost of OPEFB + 3.12 g trichoderma)/plots, G (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB +156 g boiler ash + 3.12 g tichoderma)/plots, H (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB + 312 g boiler ash + 3.12 g trichoderma)/plots, I (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB + 468 g boiler ash + 3.12 g tichoderma)/plots each repeated three times. The parameters observed were plant height, number of primary branches, flowering age, number of pods, number of pods pithy, and dry seed weight per plot. The results show that the treatment of H (1.56 kg compost of OPEFB + 312 g boiler ash+3,12 g trichoderma)/plots increased of plan height, plowering age, number of pods, number of pods pithy, and dry seed weight per plot, significantly compared with no treatment, but not significant compared to the other treatments. Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the higher multi-purpose crop in the plantation sector in Indonesia, especially Riau Province. To support the growth and development of oil palm seedlings needed a good planting medium that serves as a place of growth and development of roots and place the plant absorb nutrients and water. One of them is the provision of boiler ash and phosphate as well as utilize the peat soil as a medium. This study aims to determine the effect of boiler ash and rock phosphate on the growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in the main nursery. The design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor is the provision of boiler ash treatment with 4 levels. The second factor is the natural phosphate treatment with 4 levels and each unit is repeated 3 times. The study states that increased doses of boiler ash and rock phosphate given to plant oil palm seedlings showed no significant effect on plant height increase, in the number of leaves, the increase in diameter tubers, plant dry weight and ratio root crown.   Keywords: Abu Boiler, Phosphate, Oil Palm

Abstract

This research analyses the changes of the chemical character of rice field soil when the maximum nutrient uptake by the rice after the application of mixture oil palm empty bunches compost with boiler ash. This research was implemented Kacamatan Kampar Timur, Kabupaten Kampar and started in Desember 2012-July 2013. The chemical character of the soil was analysis in soil research center in Bogor.Completely randomized design which consists of four treatments. 1) F0 (without compost TKKS and boiler ash) 2) F1 (5 tons of compost TKKS/ha+500 kg of boiler ash/ha) 3) F2 (5 tons of compost TKKS/ha+750 kg boiler ash/ha) 4) F3 (5 tons of compost TKKS/ha+1000 kg boiler ash/ha) each treatment was repeated three times and obtained 12 experimental units. For soil chemical character research (pH, C-organik, N-total, C/N, P-Bray 1, K-dd, Ca-dd, Mg-dd, Na-dd, KB dan KTK) just taken 2 repeated that was repeated 1 and 2 for each treatment. Data of saoil chemical character from laboratorium analyses result was represented descriptive way.Generaly the results showed that the application of a mixture oil palm empty bunches compost with boiler ash on the ground tends to improve the chemical properties of rice field soil when the maximum nutrient uptake of paddy (48 days after planting), especially at treatment F2 for the parameters pH, KB, K-dd, Ca-dd and Mg-dd. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of the research were to study the effect of the application of ameliorant dregs in peatlands on the growth of rice and Pb, Ni, Cr and Se contents of shoot rice. The research was conducted on peatlands in Tanjung Air Hitam village, Kerumutan district, Pelalawan-Riau, from Agust 2012 to April 2013. The experiment used Split Plot Design and three replications, varieties of rice (Payo Besar and Inpari 12) as main plot and ameliorant of dregs consisted of: 1,25; 2,5 and 5 ton per hectare as the sub plot. The result of research showed the application of dregs 1,25 ton per hectare increased the plant height, maximum tiller number and weight of dry shoot. The Pb and Ni of shoot rice were very low and Cr and Se were not measurable. Keywords : Peatland, Dregs, Rice, Heavy Metals.

Abstract

This research aims to determine to the effect of ameliorant dregs the growth of rice plants and the accumulation of heavy metals Pb, Ni, Cr and Se. This study was conducted at Agriculture Faculty greenhouses, University of Riau and also Soil Laboratory, and Campus Bina Widya km 12.5 Kelurahan Simpang Baru, Pekanbaru lasted from August to December 2012. This study was carried out experimentally  used Completely Raandomized Design (CRD), consists of 4 treatment (0, 20, 40, 60 ton/ha). The result shows that the application dregs 20 tons/ha increased plant height, maximum number of tillers, grain weight and pithy rice. Ameliorant dregs dosing with doses of 20, 40 and 60 ton/ha reveal small influence on the accumulation of heavy metals (Se and Cr) even may not be detected at all the presence of heavy metals (Pb and Ni)  the grain so there is poison in rice plants. Abstract

Maize production technologies that are available on the fertile land has been able to increase prodnctivityfrom 5.0 to 10.0 tons of dry beans per hectare, but the technology on marginal lands such as peatbinds are notyet avaihibte so its productivity is veiy low. Dregs is alkaline and conuins essential macro and mkro nutrientsso it has potential to be applied as fertilizer and ameliorant in peat The research aimed to study the growth andproduction of sweet com, with application of iregs as ameiiorant and phosphorus source. Peat soil wasobtained from experiment plot, faculty- of ^ricuHure in Rambo Panjang village, Kampar and firqpi was obtainedfrom PT RAPP Kcrinci, Riau. Experiments used completely randomized design of factorial 4x4 which werearacliorant dregs (0, S, 10 and 15 tons/ha) and source of phosphate (SP-M, FA Huinan China, ChristmasIsland and Petrokimia Gresik) and each treatment was repeated 3 times. Dregs characterization resultsshowed that solid waste is not identified as waste according to Rcgulatkin No. B3. No. 18 Jo. 8S Year in 1999.Dregs Applications of 5 tons / ha increased dry weight of straw and crop production of 93-97% and 106-l<3*^ respectively on each source of phosphate compared with no application of dregs. Tbe highest dryweight of straw and production of about 150-260% were obtained at dregs application of 10 tons / ha whiledregs application of 10 tons / ha resulted in the highest production of about 150-260%.

Abstract

The research aimed to study the application of the combination of compost of palm oil empty fruit bunches (POEFB) with boiler ash and oil palm mill liquid waste (LW) of oil palm industry to growth and yield of soybean as intercropping in oil palm plantation that have been produced in the peat land. The research was conducted at oil palm plantation (6 years old) at Kualu Nenas Village, Kampar Regency, Riau Province from August to November 2013. The research used Randomize Complete Block Design (RCBD) consist of seven treatment (A = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 144 g boiler ash/plot, B = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 288 g boiler ash/plot, C = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 432 g boiler ash/plot, D = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 8.64 ml LW/plot, E = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 144 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml LW/plot, F = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 288 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml LW/plot dan G = 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 432 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml LW/plot) each treatment repeated three times. Parameters observed were plant height, number of prymary branches, number of pods, a percentage of pods pithy, flowering age, dry weight of seed and dry weight of 100 seeds. The result showed that the application of 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 288 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml LW/plot (F) increase plant height, number of pods, a percentage of pods pithy and dry weight of seed significantly compared with the another treatments, but not significantly with the application of 1.44 kg compost of POEFB + 432 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml LW/plot (G) Key Word : Compost Palm of Bunches, Boiler Ash, Liquid Waste, Peat Land, Soybean

Abstract

This research aims to obtain doses of the empty palm bunches of compost and ash of the boiler optimum for growth of soybean plant interposed in oil palm already produce in peat. This research conducted by using draft experimentally random group comprising nine of treatment and three of deut so acquired twenty seven units of the plot experiment. On the first of the plot unit experiment there were twenty plants and taken a sample of plants as many as five plant of the population of the plot at random to observation. Parameters used in this research is tall plant (cm), how many branches primary (strands), age flowering (day), the number pods, the number pods pithy, heavy dry 100 seeds of gram (g) and heavy dry of plot (g). The results showed that the high parameter, the number of primary branches of plants, flowering age, number of pods of pithy and dry weight of 100 seeds showed a different result is outcome real. However, on the parameter the number of pods and heavy dry of plot show a different outcome real. The best treatment in this research is treatment H ( 1,45 kg bunches of empty oil palm + 145 g ashes of the boilers + 2.9 g Trichoderma) of a plot that tends to increase high in plant, speed up the age of flowering, increase the number of pods and dry weight of the soybean plant. Abstract

The research aims to studythe interaction of compostof oil palm empty bunches(OPEB) and bolier ash on growth and yield of soybeans as an intercrop on oil palm plantation. The research was conducted on oil palm plantation area Agriculture Faculty, Riau University carried out at Tampan Subdistrict, Municipality Pekanbaru, from February to May 2014. The research is factorial experiment 4 x 2 andused a randomized block design (RBD). The first factor is compost of OPEB with 4 levels (0, 5, 10 and 15 ton/ha) and second factor isboiler ash with 2 level (2.5 and 5 ton/ha). Eachof treatments combination repeated 3 times. The effect all of treatments combination has knowed by DNMRT test (Duncan's New Multiple Range Test) at 5% level. Parameters measured were plant height, flowering age, time of harvest, totally pods, pithy pod percentage, dry grain weight per plot and weight of 100 seeds. The result of the research showed that the application of compost of OPEB 10 tons/ha and boiler ash           5 ton/ha increased plant height, dried grain weight per plot and weight of100 seeds significantly compared with application boiler ash 2.5 tons/ha without compost of OPEB, but not significantly compared with other treatments.
