Abstract

Since a long time ago, Indonesians have already known and utilized medicinal plants to overcome health problems. Tanjungpura University (UNTAN) was a part of the green open space in Pontianak, where there are green vegetation surroundings, whether plants , stakes, poles, or trees. Some of those plants have the potential to come as a medicinal. This research aimed to find the value of medicinal plants’ diversity in Tanjungpura University forestry. The advantage of this research will hopefully provide some knowledge about medicinal plant which later can be managed and preserved in Tanjungpura University. This research was conducted in the secondary forest of forestry faculty and Tanjungpura University Arboretum. This research used survey listen double ply technique as the method. Every surveillance partition have a size of 20 x 20 m, consisting of 8 partition on each forest, made up a total  of 0,64 Ha. Based on the research findings of medicinal plants in secondary Arboretum forest at seedling levels = 1,03, sapling = 0,88, pole = 0,19, tree = 0,97 while the secondary forest of forestry faculty at the seedling level = 0,79, sapling = 0,58, pole = 0,55, tree = 0,86.Keyword : Arboretum, Forest, Medicinal Plants, Species Diversity, Survey Methods.

Abstract

Community local wisdom of peatlands conservation in Punggur Kecil villages is one form of community life culture in peserving peatlands for generation to generation. The purpose of this study is to examine the forms of local wisdom in preserving peatlands, analyzing the obstacles faced by the community in maintaining local wisdom as a supporter of peatland sustainability and analyzing and describing the community to have a role in peatland management. This research was condected in Punggur Kecil village Sungai Kakap sub-district Kuburaya Regency. This research was carried out for 2 weeks effectively in the field. The tools used include writing instruments, questionnaires, calculators, recording devices, cameras, and maps of research locations. The method used is a survey and observation method with direct interview techniques. Sampling is done by using purposive sampling. Based on the results of farming research is part of the local wisdom of Punggur Kecil village community which is also part of their cultural identity in addition to of course as an effort to meet food and economic needs of the family. The form of local wisdom of the people besides farming, namely by making ditches or regulating water systems. Land preparation by peasants on peatland land in traditional culture of the village community using long type machetes. Currently the biggest obstacle to peat is drainage and fires which are usually accompanied by forest conversion. Based on the results of field observations and discussions from the results of reserch conducted in general, the village community managed peatlands well. The results of the research conducted showed that all existing land management models use a mixed system. In the rice fields of the community, they combine rice plants with other holiculture plants such as chili, spinach, yams, leeks, bananas and other types of plants such as coconut, langsat and durian. Local community needs is obtained from agricultural products for their lively hood.Keywords : Peatlands, Peatland conservation, Punggur Kecil Villages.

Abstract

This research had aimed to develop a Natural Science Learning Material with PDEODE strategy to minimize misconceptions of Junior High School students on material structure and function  of plant tissue. The learning instrument is developed by using 4-D model with a try out-design namely one group pre-test - post-test design. The lesson plan has been tried out to 25 students? of VIII-B class SMP Raden Rahmat Surabaya in the odd semester of  2016/2017 academic year. The data collection apply data validation, observation, achievement test, and questionnaire. The research data were analysed descriptively both qualitative and quantitative. The research findings were as follows: (1) The validity of the learning instrument which comprises Lesson Plan, Student Book, Student Worksheet, and a valid Identify Misconceptions Instrument; (2) The practicality of the learning instrument that can be found from: (a) the implementation of the lesson plans that is categorized as ?good?, (b) the students? activities and (3) The effectiveness of the learning instrument that was reviewed through: (a) the decrease misconception student from pretest to postest;; and (b) the response of students? . Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the Natural Science Learning Instrument based Predict-Discuss-Explain Observe-Discuss-Explain (PDEODE) strategy was feasible to minimize of misconceptions student?s Junior High School.

Abstract

Ekstraksi pektin kulit buah naga dilakukan menggunakan metode Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) dengan variasi berat bahan (10, 15, and 20 gram) dan waktu ekstraksi (15, 20, and 25 minute). Ekstraksi dengan variasi berat bahan dilakukan pada waktu ekstraksi 25 menit dan daya 600 W, sedangkan ekstraksi dengan variasi waktu dilakukan pada berat bahan 10 gram dan daya 600 W. Pektin yang diperoleh dianalisis kadar pektinnya menggunakan uji Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) dan diproses menjadi edible film. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yield pektin kulit buah naga  dengan metode MAE  lebih besar dibandingkan metode konvensional. Variasi berat bahan mempengaruhi yield pektin yang dihasilkan, semakin sedikit bahan yang digunakan dalam ekstraksi, semakin besar yield pektin kulit buah naga yang dihasilkan. Yield pektin terbesar (72 %) dihasilkan pada variasi berat 10 gram. Variasi waktu ekstraksi juga memberikan pengaruh terhadap yield pektin, semakin lama waktu ekstraksi semakin besar yield pektin kulit buah naga yang dihasilkan. Yield pektin terbesar dihasilkan pada waktu ekstraksi 25 menit. Pektin hasil ekstraksi dapat digunakan sebagai bahan edible film. Extraction of pectinfrom dragon fruit peel is conducted using Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) method with the variation of the weight of the raw materials are 10, 15, and 20 gram and the time of the extraction are 15, 20 and 25 minutes. Extraction with the variation of the weight of raw material is conducted in 25 minutes using power of 600 W, whereas the extraction with the variation of time is conducted with 10 gram of raw material using power of 600 W. The obtained pectin was analyzed using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and processed into edible film. The result of the research shows that MAE method provides more yield of dragon fruit peel rather than the conventional method. The variation of the weight affecting the amount of the obtained pectin, the less material used in the extraction the more yield of the pectin obtained. The highest amount of pectin obtained when the weight of the material is 10 grams. The variation of time also affecting the obtained result, the longer the extraction time, the yield of the dragon fruit pectin is higher. The highest amount of pectin obtained when the extraction time is 25 minutes. The obtained pectin can be used as material of edible film.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA di kelas V SDN Ginunggung. Tujuan penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran IPA pada materi pesawat sederhana dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran explicit instruction di kelas V SDN Ginunggung. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan model siklus yang di kemukakan oleh Kemmis dan Mc.Tanggar yang meliputi empat tahap yaitu: planning (perencanaan), action (tindakan), observasi (pengamatan), dan reflection (refleksi). Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan jumlah siswa 25 0rang,  Dari hasil tindakan siklus I diperoleh data dari 25 orang siswa, yang belum tuntas 10 siswa atau 40 %,  yang tuntas 15 siswa atau 60%, dengan nilai rata-rata 66,4. Sedangakan pada siklus ke II meningkat diperoleh ketuntasan belajar klasikal 92% dengan nilai rata-rata 80,40. Dari hasil penelitian mencerminkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Explicit instruction pada siswa kelas V SDN Ginunggung dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Physical Work Environment and Non Physical Work Environment on Employee Performance at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Palu City. The method used is an associative method. The type of data used in this study is the qualitative and quantitative data while the data sources used are primary and secondary data. Data analysis technique used is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The result of hypothesis analysis and testing can be concluded that: (1) based on the regression test results obtained Sig.F of 0,000 <0.05, which can be interpreted that the variables of Physical Work Environment and non physical work environment simultaneously affect the performance variables. (2) based on the regression test results obtained the physical work environment variable has significance level t sig. (0,000) <? (0.05) and non-physical work environment has a significance level of t sig. (0.000) <? (0,05), so the variable of physical work environment and non working physical environment partially influence to employee performance.

Abstract

Eceng gondok (Eichornia crassipes) merupakan tanaman yang menjadi limbah perairan dan keberadaannya belum banyak dimanfaatkan. Kandungan selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin di dalamnya dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi biogas melalui proses fermentasi. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh EM4 (Effective Microorganism- 4) terhadap massa, nilai kalor, dan kecepatan pembentukan biogas dari eceng gondok. Percobaan dilakukan dalam anaerobic digester berukuran 4 liter, bahan baku yang digunakan adalah eceng gondok, rumen sapi, dan air dengan variabel penambahan EM4 sebesar 1% dan 0%. Fermentasi dilakukan secara batch dengan pengukuran gas (temperatur, tekanan, dan massa) setiap 7 hari sekali sampai hari ke-35. Sebelum proses fermentasi, dilakukan pengujian terhadap rasio C/N campuran bahan baku. Pembakaran gas dilakukan untuk membuktikan gas yang didapat mengandung metana. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rasio C/N untuk variabel dengan penambahan EM4 1% sebesar 5,33 dan rasio C/N untuk variabel dengan penambahan EM4 0% sebesar 7. Jadi, penambahan EM4 dapat menurunkan rasio C/N. Sementara itu, hasil fermentasinya memperlihatkan bahwa EM4 memperkecil produksi biogas meskipun proses pembentukannya cepat. Massa total biogas yang didapat pada variabel EM4 1% sebesar 1,1 g dan variabel EM4 0% sebesar 1,55 g. Tekananbiogas mengalami fluktuasi (pada variabel EM4 1% sebesar 35,6 cmH2O, sedangkan pada variabel EM4 0% sebesar 40,6 cmH2O). Berdasarkan simulasi menggunakan chemical process simulator software, diketahui heating value biogas sebesar 39.180 kJ/kg. Water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) is a plant that becomes waste and its existence has not been widely used. Content of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin in it can be converted into biogas through a process of fermentation. Study examines the effect of EM4 (Effective Microorganism-4) on the mass, heating value, and the rate of formation of biogas from water hyacinth. An experiments were performed in anaerobic digesters size of 4 liters, the raw material used is water hyacinth, cows rumen, and water with variable of EM4 addition of 1% and 0%. Fermentation was carried out in batch condition with gas measurement (temperature, pressure, and mass) every 7 days until the 35th day. Before fermentation, the C/N ratio of raw material mixture was analyzed. The gas was burnt to prove that the obtained gas containing methane. Results showed that the C/N ratio for the variable with the addition EM4 1% is 5.33 and C/N ratio for the variable with the addition EM4 0% is 7. Thus, the addition of EM4 can reduce C/N ratio. Despite the formation process is rapid, the results showed that EM4 reduce the biogas production. Total mass of biogas obtained at variableEM4 1% is 1.1 g and variable EM4 0% is 1,55 g. Biogas pressure is fluctuated (at variable EM4 1% is 35.6 cmH2O, EM4 0% is 40.6 cmH2O). Based on simulation using the chemical process simulator software, it is known that biogas heating value is 39,180 kJ/kg.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah beban kerja, lingkungan kerja dan motivasi mempunyai pengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian adalah jumlah seluruh pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan sebanyak 42 orang. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS), dan proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beban kerja, lingkungan kerja dan motivasi secara simultan memiliki pengaruh cukup kuat dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan sebesar 51%. Jika motivasi meningkat diikuti dengan memperhatikan beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja, maka akan meningkatkan kinerja pegawai Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan

Abstract

The objective of this research is to extract essential oil of sweet orange peel (Citrus sinensis) using vacuum microwave assisted hydrodistillation (VMAHD) method. The operation condition was at various orange peel mass (50, 100, and 150 g) and extraction times (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 min). The volume of water as solvent was about 300 mL. Before extraction, analysis of oil content in orange peel was conducted using solvent extraction by soxhlet method with 100 mL of n-hexane and 20 cycles number. The analysis resulted in the oils of sweet orange peel is about 3.2% v/w. Effect of extraction in vacuum conditions is studied by comparing the result of extraction in vacuum pressure to extraction at atmospheric pressure. The boiling temperature in atmospheric pressure was 80 oC and in vacuum pressure decreased to 50 oC. Thus oil yield in vacuum pressure is greater than at atmospheric pressure for 8 min of time. The experimental data showed that the oil yield is influenced by time; the longer time of extraction, oil yield obtained tends to be increased. In the material’s mass variation, oil yield tends to be decreased in percentage with increasing mass of material. The VMAHD method results on the oil content of 0.22% v/w yield obtained materials, test oil density of 0.84 g / mL, and essential oil dissolved in alcohol 70%. GC-MS analysis indicates that orange peel oil is composed of Limonene (96.69%), and Pinene (3.31%), which are in the class of sesquiterpenes

Abstract

ABSTRACTLow dose gamma irradiation has been applied to improve seed germination and seedling growth for many agricultural crops, but the technique is still limited to be used on tree species. The purposes of this research was (1) tostudy the effect of seed irradiation and storage periods on the germination of tembesu seed, and (2) to determine theeffect of seed irradiation to the seedlings growth. The first experiment was designed in Completely RandomizedDesign (CRD) in a factorial with two factors, i.e. irradiation doses and storage periods. The second experiment usedthe Completely Randomized Design with the treatment of irradiation doses. The results showed that for increasingseed storability, the fresh seeds can be radiated by dose maximum 120 Gy. The best height and diameter seedlinggrowth obtained at dose 30 Gy, it was confirmed by seedling growth enhancement up to 205.84% of height and133.33% of diameter. The irradiation at doses 30 Gy can improve seedling quality of tembesu. ABSTRAKIradiasi sinar gamma dengan dosis rendah telah banyak digunakan untuk memperbaiki perkecambahan benih dan pertumbuhan bibit untuk banyak tanaman pertanian, namun teknik ini masih terbatas untuk diaplikasikan pada jenis- jenis tanaman hutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mempelajari pengaruh iradiasi benih dan periode simpan terhadap perkecambahan benih tembesu, serta (2) mengetahui pengaruh iradiasi benih segar terhadap pertumbuhan bibit tembesu. Percobaan pertama menggunakan Rancangan Faktorial dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 2 faktor, yaitu faktor iradiasi dan faktor periode simpan. Percobaan kedua menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan perlakuan dosis iradiasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan daya simpan, benih segar dapat diradiasi dengan dosis maksimal 120 Gy. Hasil iradiasi terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi dan diameter bibit jenis tembesu dicapai pada dosis 30 Gy, dimana perlakuan ini dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi sebesar205,84% dan diameter sebesar 133,33%. Iradiasi sinar gamma 30 Gy dapat meningkatkan kualitas bibit jenis tembesu.
