Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of the growth of oil palm seedlings with various media volume in the main nursery. The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study lasted for 7 months starting in January 2012 until July 2012. The research was carried out experimentally by using completely randomized design consisting of three (3) treatment with 6 (six) replicates that contained 18 experimental units. Each unit consists of 2 seeds. Total whole plant 36 seedlings were planted in 36 polybags. Treatment is the media volume consists of 3 levels ie: V1 = 8 liter/polybag, V2 = 7 liter/polybag, and V3 = 6 liter/polybag. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaf midrib, stump diameter, crown root ratio and dry weight of seedlings. The results showed that significantly affects the media volume increase in plant height parameters. But non-significantly to the amount of leaf midrib, plant bulbs diameter, crown ratio and dry weight of seedling roots. Keywords: media volume, oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

The purpose of research to study determines the effect multiple doses of biofertilizer contain an active Bacillus sp. and obtain the best dose on growth and productivity of paddy (Oryza sativa L). The research was conducted in Pekanbaru Agricultural Quarantine Laboratory and the experimental field of Agriculture faculty, Riau University beginning December 2013 to May 2014. The experiment was designed a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The research treatments are Ph0 (control), Ph1 (15 ml/plant), Ph2 (30 ml/plant), Ph3 (45 ml/plant) and Ph4 (60 ml/plant). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test on level 5%. The result showed that treatments of Biofertilizer contain an active Bacillus sp. has non-significant among plant height, number of total tillers, tiller productive percentage, harvesting, panicle length and number of grains per panicle. But the application of dose 45 ml/plant showed significant on weight of dry grain and weight of 100 grains. Keywords: Bacillus sp. Biofertilizer and SRI Method.

Abstract

Pakchoy plants is one kind of vegetables that have commercial value and contains nutrients that are essential to the human body so favored by many people. Research is aimed to know the influence compost palm oil frond with decomposer which gives growth and yield good pakchoy held in greenhouse the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau for three months that is October until December 2011. The draft used are thoughts of random complete which consists of three and six deut treatment which D1 (Mikroorganism local), D2 (Trichoderma sp) dan D3 (EM-4). Based on the research has been done suggest that composting of palm frond with some decomposers in plants pakchoy results were not significantly different with plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weigt and root volume. Of this research, the plant pakchoy treated EM-4 decomposers tends to give a higher yield.   Keywords: Compost, Decomposer and Pakchoy

Abstract

The objective of research was to know the growth and production of onion  after giving of ameliorant and nitrogene fertilizer. The research was done in experimentation area Faculty of Agroteknologi Universitas Riau, Rimbo Panjang village, subdistric Tambang, Kampar from March to May 2015. The research was using the Randomized Block Design Factorial with two factors. The first factor amelioran with five levels namely control (A0), dolomite 1,5 ton/ha (A1), calcite 2 ton/ha, oil palm bunch ash 5 ton/ha (A3) and  rice husk ash 15 ton/ha (A4).  The second factor  of nitrogene fertilizer with three levels namely control (N0), urea fertilizer 500 kg/ha (N1) and ZA fertilizer 1095 kg/ha (N2). Parameter observed were plant height, total of leaves, total tuber, rim tuber, fresh weight tuber per plot and dry weight tuber per plot. The result of the research showed that the ameliorant application was significant of rim tuber, fresh weight tuber/plot, and reasonable save tuber weight/plot, but not significant wet the plant height, total of leaves, total tuber. Nitrogene fertilizer showed significant on fresh weight tuber per plot, and dry weight per plot, but not significant the plant height, total of leaves, rim tuber, total tuber. The interaction between ameliorant and nitrogene fertilizer showed that no significant for all parameters. showed significant on fresh weight tuber per plot and dry weight tuber per plot, but no significant the plant height, total of leaves, rim tuber, total tuber.   Keyword : Onion, peat soil, ameliorant and nitrogene fertilizer.

Abstract

Green mustard is its broadleaf vegetable crops that is economically potential because of its high demand . Increased production have tended to use inorganic fertilizers and pesticides excessive. In the now widely circulated one organic fertilizer is cow urine. Giving cow urine on the ground to improve the nature of the soil chemistry, soil physics and biological properties of soil. This research was conducted at the Experiment Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from April to May 2013. Field levels of experimental was arrangenina completely randomized design consisting of 5 fermented cow urine lei U0 : no cow urine, U1 : cow urine 100 ml/l of water, U2 : cow urine 200 ml/l of water, U3 : cow urine 300 ml/l of water, U4 : cow urine 400 ml/l of water. Observations were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, root volume, fresh weight per plant and fresh weight of plant per plot. Application of fermented cow urine to the plant improve palnt growth and all yield components except root volume. Increasing the concentration of fermented cow urine teut to increas crop production. Giving fermented cow urine at concentration of 20% - 40% gives the growth and yield of mustard plant better.  Keyword : Mustar green, Cow urine

Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a commodity that produces vegetable oils are important in beside coconut, nuts and corn. Palm oil plantations in Riau province ranks first in comparison to other plantations such as palm, rubber and cocoa. According to the Stastik Central Bureau in 2011 vast palm oil plantations of Riau reached 2,256,538 ha. Most of the plant is less productive because of age and need rejuvenation. Nurseries is one aspect of agronomy that was instrumental in the early stages of crop management to be cultivated. Planting medium used in palm oil nurseries is topsoil with a thickness of 10-20 cm from the ground. Alternative medium that can be used is marginal soils such as sand. Sand can be used for the planting medium with the addition of organic fertilizer and Arbuskular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF). Mycorrhizae is a form of mutualitik symbiotic relationship between fungi with plant roots, fungi or plants both equally benefit from this association. The research with experiment by methods completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 6 times to obtain 18 experimental units, each unit comprising 2 plant experiments. There treatment is giving of AMF : C0 = Giving AMF with a dose of 0 g/polybag, C1 = Giving AMF with a dose of 10 g/polybag, C2 = Giving AMF with a dose of 20 g/polybag. The results of this study showed that giving of Arbuskular Mycorrhizae Fungi in planting medium is not a real effect on seedling height, leaf length, number of leaves, fresh weight, ratio of dry weight of roots and canopy of palm seedlings. The best treatment was obtained by administration of AMF 10 g/polybags in the nursery medium.   Keywords: Pre Nurseries, Arbuskular Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF), Palm Oil Seed, Growth and Development.

Abstract

The plant of paddy field (Oryza sativa L.) is food plant which very important in Indonesia, because as staple food and availability must fulfilled in year-round. Several factors cause of low production and paddy field productivity including occurs over the land, paddy seed used to local varieties and the use of fertilizer not the recommended. This research aims to know about the best of spacing and fertilizer dose to growth and paddy field production (Oryza sativa L.) with SRI method. This research implemented in rice foundation of horticultural hall land, Kaharuddin Nasution street, Marpoyan desert, Pekanbaru. This research implemented during 4 months who started in january 2013 until april 2013 . The result show that spacing and fertilizer dose in each treatment able to increase a growth and paddy field production with SRI method. By observing the response of paddy after provision of treatment through parameter, it can be concluded that the best treatment is use of spacing 25 cm x 25 cm and Urea Fertilizer 400 kg/ha + Sp-36 200 kg/ha + KCl 200 kg/ha, because able to give a good response to harvest parameter and highest milled rice per plot. keywords : paddy , SRI , fertilizer dose .

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effect of liquid organic fertilizer made ​​from tofu with NPK and to get the best dose for the growth of cocoa seedlings. This research was carried out experiments with liquid organic fertilizer combination treatment with NPK arranged according to completely randomized design ( CRD ) which consists of 6 levels : P1 = liquid organic fertilizer 200 ml +NPK 7,5 g/polybag, P2 = liquid organic fertilizer 400 ml +NPK 7,5 g/polybag, P3 = liquid organic Fertilizer 600 ml + NPK 7,5 g/polybag, P4 = liquid organic fertilizer 200 ml + NPK 15 g/polybag, P5 = liquid organic fertilizer 400 ml + NPK 15 g/polybag and P6 = liquid organic fertilizer 600 ml + NPK 15 g/polybag. Each treatment was repeated four times so that there are 24 experimental units. Parameters measured were seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), stem diameter (cm), the ratio of the root crown and seedling dry weight (g). The data analysis results were significant statistical test followed by Duncun test at 5 % level. Giving a combination of liquid organic fertilizer with NPK significant effect on all parameters observed that seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, crown ratio of dry weight of roots and seeds of cocoa and a combination of liquid organic fertilizer NPK 200 ml with                7,5 g/polybag produces the best cocoa seedling growth . Keywords : cocoa , liquid organic fertilizer , NPK

Abstract

The objectives of this study was todetermine the influence ofsomelivestockurineto the growth of oil palmandgetthe best forthe growth ofoil palminthe mainnursery. Parametersmeasured were: the increment of seeds height, increment of hump diameter, increment ofleafmidrib,root length, root volume, rootcrownratioanddry weightof seedlings. Data were analyzedusingANOVAandfollowed byfurther Different Real Honest (DRH)testat5% level. From the study thathas beencarried out, showthat thegiving ofurineofdifferenttypes oflivestockonoil palm seedshowedsignificant effecton the overall observed parameters. Treatmentgoat urine showedthe best resultsforall parametersobserved. Comparedwiththe growth of oil palmseedstandardseven-month-old,goaturine and sheep urineturnsgivingexceeding thegrowth of oil palmseedinseeds height, hump diameterandnumber ofleaf midrib. Abstract

This research aimed to know the response of Duku explants toward the giving of auxin (2,4-D) and cytokinin (BA) for callus growth. This research was conducted in plants biotechnology laboratory at University of Riau, from January until May 2014. The experimental design used was randomized block design (RBD) which is consisted by 2 factors. First factor is the giving of 2,4-D concentration consisting by 3 levels, they are: A1 = 1 mg 2,4-D/l, A2 = 1.5 mg 2,4-D/l and A3 = 2 mg 2,4-D/l. Second factor is the giving of BA concentration consisting by 3 levels, they are: B1 = 0 mg BA/l, B2 = 0.5 mg BA/l and B3 = 1 mg BA/l. This research observed visually and represented by image. Results of this research showed the duku explant that inoculated with 1-2 mg/l of auxin (2,4-D) concentration and cytokinin (BA) 0-1 mg/l or by giving of the both combinations still not make the callus growth, because half of the explant turning brown and finally die.   Keyword: duku, 2,4-D, BA, in vitro, brown
