Abstract

Telah dirancang alat uji kemurnian bahan yang bekerja berdasarkan metode difraksi Fraunhofer celah ganda. Metode ini mempunyai akurasi yang baik, tidak memerlukan bahan uji dalam jumlah banyak serta tidak merusak kemurnian bahan uji itu sendiri (non destructive testing/non contactive testing). Pengujian dilakukan dengan menentukan persamaan indeks bias sebagai fungsi suhu bahan uji, yang diperoleh berdasarkan perubahan pola frinji gelap terang difraksi cahaya yang melewati bahan uji untuk variasi suhu yang diberikan (26 °C hingga 90 °C). Dari persamaan indeks bias yang diperoleh kemudian dapat dihitung indeks bias pada suhu sembarang. Uji kemurnian dilakukang dengan membandingkan nilai indeks bias terukur dengan nilai indeks bias referensi pada suhu tertentu. Uji statistik t-test digunakan untuk melihat tingkat akurasi alat. Pada penelitian ini digunakan tiga buah merk minyak wijen yang ada di pasaran. Dari hasil pengukuran dan perhitungan menggunakan minyak wijen tiga macam (A,B dan C) dapat diketahui bahwa dari ketiga bahan uji yang dipilih maka minyak wijen label B memiliki nilai t hitung yang paling kecil dibandingkan minyak wijen label A dan C, sehingga minyak wijen label B dianggap memiliki kualitas yang paling baik dia antara ketiga minyak wijen yang telah di uji. Abstract

An electronic monitoring system has been created for monitoringpatients condition simultaneously. The temperature was converted to the voltageby a temperature sensor consisting of an NTC (negative temperature coefficient)thermistor and the additional circuit that its output voltage change following thechange of thermistor resistance. The number of temperature sensor circuit isused as much as ten. The coverage of temperature measurements were in therange 35oC to 41oC. The main control system was done by Labjack UE9 workingbased program that created in LabVIEW 8.0 software. The result showed that thesystem works well, seen from the accuracy value reached more than 99%(discrepancy (D) less than 0.6%) and precision levels obtained from three timesretrieval of data also amounts to more than 99% (relative uncertainty (I) less than0.6%).

Abstract

A thermometer with sound output has been developed. The systemconsists of a temperature sensor, a microcontroller, a voice device, and aspeaker. The temperature sensor of DS18S20 will convert the temperature todigital data. The is feed to ATmega8535 microcontroller. On the otherhand, intwelve memory of voice deviceISD2590 is recorded some numerical sound signalfrom zero to nine and word of temperature unit. For reproducing the sound signalthe data from microcontroller will switch on the memory according to it’stemperature quantity. The sound electronic signal is linked to the speaker toproduce sound. The temperature is designed to operate from 24 to 350C.

Abstract

An electronic compass system with sound output have been done. Thesystem was employed HM55B Compass Module Sensor, Microcontroller AT89S51,Operational Amplifier, and IC Voice ISD 2590.The operation of the system wascontroller by the microcontroller. The signal from the compass sensor is feed toATmega8535 microcontroller. On the otherhand, in twelve memory of voicedeviceISD2590 is recorded some word sound signal from the north to the north west.For reproducing the sound signal the data from microcontroller will switch on thememory according to it’s compass toward. The sound electronic signal is linked to thespeaker to produce sound. It was concluded that the system work well since the allparameter were displayed on the monitor simultaneously.

Abstract

Abstract: An electronic system based on Atmega8535 microcontroller for food fishfeding has been done. The system was employed a RTC, a pair infrared LED andphotodiode sensor, DC motor, driver circuit, a microcontroller, and LCD display. Themicrocontroller was programmed with C language and AVR program that suitable forthe device. The system was supported by a RTC device to get the main time basesignal of the system time. All of the system was controlled by microcontroller. Thesignal from the microcontroller is send to LCD and fish food applicator. Abstract

Palm cooking oil refraction index measurement has been done in several temperature using single slit Fraunhofer diffraction method. Ratio between diffraction patterns at the air dan solution medium can be used to determine its refraction index. Using aquades as sample, was obtained refractive index 1.331 with the discrepancy 0.038%. Based on the refractive indexs measured for each temperature were obtained linear equation model: Y=-(0,00145±0,00021)X+(1,54232±0,01757)where  R = -0,97266 and R^2=0,94606. Temperature changes influence strongly to refractive index changes of palm cooking oil sample, changes both inversely. Gradient of 0.00145 indicate that refractive index of palm cooking oil sample decrease slowly, so the quality is still good.   Keywords : Palm Coocing oil, refractive index, temperature, Fraunhofer diffraction method

Abstract

It has been made an electronic system for measurement of sugar cane in solution media. This system uses a pin photodiode as a sensor, laser source, optical fiber, an operational amplifier (Op-Amp), analog to digital converter (ADC) of the Arduino, and computers. The main operation of the measurement system is done by the sensor and controlled by computer. The the photodiode sensor sends a signal to a signal processing unit (op-amp) and converted to a digital signal by the ADC. The digital signal is then forwarded for processing and display (computer). We Concluded that the system working well because of the sugar content information can be simultaneously displayed on the monitor .Keywords: sugar content, pin photodiode, computer

Abstract

ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian pemanfaatan interferometer Michelson untuk menentukan kualitas madu bunga. Uji kemurnian dilakukan berdasarkan pengukuran konstanta Kerr madu yang diperoleh dengan mengukur indeks bias bahan menggunakan interferometer Michelson. Nilai konstanta Kerr 𝑅𝑘 berbeda untuk kandungan gula pereduksi (glukosa dan fruktosa) yang berbeda dari bahan (madu). Diketahui bahwa semakin besar kandungan gula pereduksi maka semakin besar nilai konstanta Kerr. Nilai 𝑅𝑘 yang besar menandakan molekul polar pada konsentrasi madu bunga tersebut lebih mendominasi dari pada molekul nonpolar, dan sebaliknya untuk nilai 𝑅𝑘 yang kecil. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan sampel madu bunga kaliandra, kelengkeng, kapuk dan rambutan. 𝑅𝑘 yang besar diperoleh pada madu bunga kaliandra pada konsentrasi 10% sebesar (1,33±0,02) ×10-12 m2/V2 dan nilai 𝑅𝑘 yang kecil diperoleh madu bunga kelengkeng pada konsentrasi 20% sebesar (3,04±0,07)×10-13 m2/V2. Semakin besar konsentrasi madu yang diberikan pada media sampel maka semakin besar nilai 𝑅𝑘. Ini disebabkan karena meningkatnya konsentrasi akan menghasilkan komposisi madu lebih banyak dari konsentrasi sebelumnya, sehingga secara fisis akan meningkatkan kerapatan bahan sehingga indeks bias bahan semakin besar karena molekul madu dalam sampel semakin banyak. Pengukuran konstanta Kerr dilakukan dengan memberikan variasi medan listrik pada sampel madu uji untuk melihat perubahan jumlah frinji interferensi. Abstract

Blacksmith is a people's business that has been going on for a long time in Indonesia. Based on the experience that has been obtained from time to time and hereditary, the blacksmith industry has been done by the community to meet the needs of agricultural and household utensils. However, observe to this people's business, now it decreases with various causal factors, such as the ease of imported goods on the market with lower prices. Many creative efforts need to be carried out so that these people's businesses remain and increasingly develop, among others by improving the quality of the process of a blacksmith so that their products are quite competitive. This article describes the results of the research in the laboratory regarding the physical processes of heating and quenching under blacksmith, which the results have been applied to community service activities at the Suger Kidul villages in Jember Regency. The study aimed to find the most appropriate procedure for steel tool manufacturing processes so that the blacksmith products have high quality as high hardness. The physical process for blacksmith process is heating and quenching. This study analyzes the proper heat (temperature), proper processing time, and proper media for heating and quenching to produce good harness quality of the product.

Abstract

Abstrak Membran nilon merupakan lapisan semipermeabel yang terbuat dari jenis polimer poliamida untuk memisahkan partikel tertentu dari larutannya. Pada artikel ini, membran nilon berperan sebagai filter untuk penjernihan nira tebu dengan mengkaji kinerja, efektivitas, dan efisiensi membran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan sistem aliran dead-end pada proses ultrafiltrasi menggunakan empat tekanan transmembran yang berbeda yaitu 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, dan 2.5 bar. Konsentrasi nira tebu sebelum dan sesudah proses ultrafiltrasi dikarakterisasi menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Membran nilon dengan variasi massa 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, dan 6.5 gram, menunjukkan fluks air yang sesuai pada rentang 15 – 38 L/m2.jam.bar pada tekanan transmembran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa membran nilon yang memiliki kinerja paling baik adalah membran dengan massa benang nilon 4.5 gram karena memiliki nilai fluks paling besar dan nilai koefisien rejeksi paling kecil. Membran dengan massa benang nilon 6.5 gram memiliki efektivitas dan efisiensi penurunan sukrosa yang paling besar. Sedangkan membran dengan massa benang nilon 4.5 gram memiliki efektivitas dan efsiensi penurunan konsentrasi sukrosa yang paling rendah. Kata-kata kunci: membran nilon, nira tebu, kinerja membran, efektivitas, efisiensi. Abstract Nylon membrane is a semipermeable layer made of a type of polyamide polymer to separate certain particles from the solution. In this article, nylon membrane is presented as a filter for clarification of sugarcane juice concerning study on performance evaluation, effectiveness, and efficiency of the membrane. The experiments were conducted according to the principle of the dead-end in an ultrafiltration process using four different transmembrane pressures of 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 bar. The concentration of sugarcane juice before and after ultrafiltration process was characterized using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. Nylon membranes, which consist of 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5 gram various mass, showed matched water flux in the range of 15 – 38 L/m2.jam.bar at the transmembrane pressures. The results showed that the best performance nylon membrane was a nylon membrane with a mass of 4.5 gram nylon, because it has the largest flux and the smallest rejection coefficient. Nylon membrane with a mass of 6.5 gram has the biggest effectiveness and efficiency in the reduced of sucrose concentration. Meanwhile, nylon membrane with a mass of 4.5 gram has the lowest effectiveness and efficiency in the reduced of sucrose concentration.
