Abstract

Forecast of electrical energy needs in PLN Pekanbaru region in the next 10 years using a combined method is a method formulated by combining several methods such as analysis methods, econometric methods, and trend methods, with sectoral approaches is grouping PLN’s customers into four groups of sectors (house hold, commercial, public, and industrial). This forecast is based on the growth of energy consumption and economic growth. The data used is the historical data from 2001 to 2014. The results forecast of total electric energy needs from year 2015 to 2024 is 9.96% per year with energy needs in 2015 is 1899.99 GWh grow into 4466.52 GWh on 2024 while the peak load Pekanbaru City is 281.68 MW in 2015 and grew into a 662.18 MW in 2024.Keywords: forecasting energy needs, peak load, the trend

Abstract

South Bekasap Area PT. Chevron Pacivic Indonesia was an area that has flash density reach at 1,970 flash/km2/year with IKL level at 136 thunder days per year. The amount of lightning current that strikes phase wires can be minimized by using a ground wire. this is done by adjusting the angle between the ground wire to phase wire to form a region that free from lightning strikes called protected region. In the analysis of protected region, first we must determined the level of lightning protective system needs base on standart that used in Indonesia, called SNI-03-7015-2004. From the analysis of hazard assesment, it was found the level of lightning protection needs at level I with striking distance at 20 meter. Based on data and analysis, then it is known that the distribution line 13,8 kV So.Bekasap has level protection system that is less good. In protective angle method calculations, the single poles (type A, B, and C) have protection region at 33o and double poles (type SAA, SBB, and SCC) at 26o. While based on rolling sphere method, the single poles (type A, B, and C) have protection region at 13o and double poles with double ground wires (type SAA, SBB, and SCC) at 27o.Keywords: protected region, protection system, protective angle method, rolling sphere method.

Abstract

The distribution system is an important part of the electrical energy distribution activities as directly connected to the customers. Therefore, the distribution system is always required to have good reliability. One way to increase reliability is using recloser. Optimal placement of recloser will be able to maximize reliability. The author used a genetic algorithm method in determining the optimal position of recloser. Objective function is combining SAIFI and SAIDI. SAIFI and SAIDI are calculated using section technique method. Simulation calculations using MATLAB (Matrix Laboratory) programming. Testing program conducted on radial distribution network. The result is recloser position within 0.157 km from existing recloser. Reduction of SAIFI after the addition of recloser is 13.23%. Abstract

This paper describes the design and simulation of a dc-dc buck-boost converter using the buck-boost coupled inductor topology to equalize the dc input voltage source to the load voltage with a wide voltage conversion range. The buck-boost converter coupled inductor system with a closed circuit that is controlled by PI control, voltage mode control, and current mode control on the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). This circuit is simulated using the PSIM software, and the outputs are analyzed then compared to a buck-boost converter that does not use a coupled inductor. It is indicated that the buck-boost converter without coupled inductor has an input voltage width in the range of 4-21 Volt result in the output voltage of 14 Volt, while a converter using a coupled inductor has an input voltage width in the range of 3-64 Volt, and it generates the steady output voltage of 14 Volt. Abstract

On this paper, simulation of short circuit fault is performed on electrical power system of Riau. The simulation is performed by using power system analysis software DIgSILENT PowerFactory and use international standard IEC 60909 for short circuit calculation. The simulation is performed by giving three phase fault to 150 kV busses on electrical power system of Riau. The simulation results are three phase short-circuit current, it used to calculate the minimum capacity of circuit breaker and for the selection of circuit breaker. With the selection of circuit breaker according the standard, it can ensure that circuit breaker can work properly as function on break the short-circuit fault and the it’s not causing other damage on system. The final results showed that the minimum value circuit breaker capacity in riau electrical power systetem is variated base on the location of where the circuit breaker applied. The value of minimum circuit breaker on near generator is more greater than the far from generator. The highest value of safe or minimum circuit breaker capacity on Riau electrical system is 18.36 kA and the lowest is 2 kA. Keywords: short-circuit, minimum circuit breaker, DIgSILENT PowerFactory

Abstract

Reconfiguration of distribution network is one way to increase network reliability index of the distribution system. In this research, reliability index is computed using section technique. The optimization of the distribution network is achieved by changing the switches in the distribution network to obtain the most optimal distribution network configuration. The optimization method used in the genetic algorithm. The parameters that generated as a benchmark in determining the optimal distribution network is SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency index) and SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index). The result from reconfigurated of the distribution network had a decrease of SAIFI value i.e 7.8199 % and the decrease of SAIDI value i.e 7.9968 % from before reconfiguration.Keywords : distribution network, genetic algorithm,reconfiguration, reliability,section technique

Abstract

The transformer is widely used, both in the field of electricity and electronics. Use of the power system allows choosing the appropriate voltage and economical for each purposes. To obtain a good and satisfying design it is necessary to use computer software in design process. Abstract

One of the significant purposes of reliability system analyzing is to evaluate the system’s ability to complete the load system requirement. The real problems of assessing the adequacy of the generation and bulk power transmission system about providing a dependable and suitable supply at the terminal stations can be designated as composite system reliability evaluation. The electric power system of Pekanbaru is an isolated system consisting of 4 generations, 12 substations, and 22 transmission lines. The calculated reliability evaluation by using expected energy not supplied indices at each substation in the contingency N-1. The outage of the generation unit significantly affects the EENS value in the hybrid system, the amount of capacity that comes out of the system greatly affects the value of the load that can be served. There is no EENS value when the contingency N-1 of the transmission line is due to the ring system model and the radial system as well as the large current-carrying capacity of the transmission line, so that when a contingency N-1 occurs the transmission line system can still serve all load points. The results of this study show that the EENS value existed at the release of the PLTU tenayan 1 and PLTU Tenayan 2. The EENS value is 2347,5415 MWh/ year or 0.054% of the total energy consumption in 2019 at the Garuda Sakti substation.Keywords: composite reliability, contingency, load curtailment, EENS, ETAP 12.6.

Abstract

Driving circuit function as a source of voltage to drive an electronic circuit. Source of voltage (power supply) created using the switching mode with Flyback converter topology. Component used as the switch is Mosfet. Time to live (on) and off (off) controlled by the circuit mosfet Totempole to accelerate the process on or off of the switch with a frequency of 50 kHz generated by IC SG3524. Switching mode power supply with Flyback converter topology are made to produce a constant voltage of 87 volts. Abstract

Temperature changing has affected to the electrical load consumption. It has considered in the calculation of short-term load forecasting. In this study, ANFIS method was used to forecast short-term load using historical data of electrical load and temperature. From the testing process, the MAPE value has obtained during the procces for daily bunch from Monday to Sunday and Public Holiday is included, i.e. 8.567%; 5.013%; 5.341%; 4.214%; 7.741%; 6.635%; 6.875% and0.022689%, respectively.
