Abstract

During fluid flow through the system piping installation happened many so-called pressure loss as the major pressure loss and minor pressure loss (loss due to fluid passing through a branching). Distribution of the fluid flow in branching is an irreversible process. This irreversibelitas in the application techniques will reduce the performance of a system. Attemps to find out how big the losses incurred by branching pipe is to measure the coefficient of losses incurred. The form of experiments performed was to make three pieces of pipe brnching angles galvanic type medium with 450, 600 and 900. Re variation of 0 to 5,5 x 104. The results showed that the coefficient Of loss for k3-2 branch (45)= k3-2 (60)= K3-2 (90)= (0,07 to 0,39) and k3-1 branch (45)= (0,95- 0,60), K3-1 (60)= (1,08 to 0,85), K3-1 (90)= (1,10- 1,50), for a total coefficint Ktot (45)= (1,02 to 0,97), Ktot (60)= (1,15 to 1,23), Ktot (90)= (1,17 to 1,89).

Abstract

Abstract

Kavitasi adalah merupakan fenomena perubahan zat cair menjadi uap pada saat mengalir. Kejadian tersebut terindikasi dengan timbulnya gelembung uap, vibrasi dan suara bising. Pada pompa, kavitasi dapat menimbulkan turunnya unjuk kerja pompa serta merusak bagian-bagian pompa jika berlangsung dalam waktu yang lama. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik kavitasi pada pompa sentrifugal dengan memvariasikan tekanan isap, bukaan katup dan putaran pompa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa distribusi tekanan pada dinding pompa yang dianggap mendekati tekanan sepanjang shroud impeller membentuk kurva parabola dengan tekanan terendah pada sisi yang terdekat dengan suction eye impeller. Kavitasi akan terjadi seiring dengan turunnya NPSHa sistem dengan menurunkan tekanan isap hingga level tertentu yang juga dipengaruhi oleh putaran pompa dan bukaan katup discharge pompa. NPSHa kavitasi atau NPSHr pompa uji adalah 6.9 meter.Kata Kunci : Kavitasi, Pompa Sentrifugal, Angka Thoma, NPSH

Abstract

In teaching and learning process, teachers found the difficulty to transfer of understanding the material about the current electricity and difference potential to the learners. The understanding of this material classified into difficult materials because its characteristic was abstract. This research was a qualitative reasearch that aims to show the student of physics education competence in explaining the physics concept used analogy in learning of physics. The subject of this reserach was the student of physics education of sixth semester students of Physics Education Program who are taking the course of Physics School II. The techniques of data collection used in the form of written-test, interview, and documentation. The result of the reserach showed that the student of Physics Education Program students in explaning the physics concept using analogy belonged to average category. They used their experience in explaining the abstract physics concept in dinamic electricity material that used analogy, could describe the potential of misconceptions toward the understanding of concept that would be accepted by the learners and could explain the difference of analogy used based on the characteristic of analogy which is not appropriate with the concept. The analogy reasoning pattern that used by the student of physics education in explaining physics concept used analogy was more dominant than that of inductive reasoning pattern. The dificulty factors of student of physics education in explaining the physics concept used analogy were existing at; 1) seeking of the right analogy, 2) connecting the analogy with the concept of dinamic electricity, 3) explaining the appropriate analogy with the concept. The student of physics education difficulties factors may be caused by their less conceptual understanding about physics concept in dinamic electricity. The solution to overcome this problem is candidat teacher needs to improve their understanding about concept of dynamic electricity to simplify acquiring the appropriate analogy and connect the concept of physics material which taught by using the anlogy.

Abstract

Perkembangan  produk industri dewasa ini  yang ada dipasaran sangatlah beragam sehingga mutu dan kualitasnya kurang diperhatikan apalagi banyaknya produk yang serupa dan hampir sama. Untuk dapat mengetahui kualitas dari suatu produk tersebut maka kita harusnya dapat mengetahui apakah produk tersebut sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang diinginkan. Produk yang dihasilkan secara massal apalagi untuk penggunaan umum kurang diperhatikan kualitasnya,sehingga perlu diketahui kualitasnya dengan salah satu cara yaitu menggunakan peta kendali mutu. Kualitas suatu produk akan telihat pada masuknya dalam daerah batas kendali atas dan batas kendali bawah. Abstract

Fluid flow a pipe (internal flow) always happens losses caused by friction between the wall because of the influence of the fluid’s viscosity. High coefficient of friction affect them directly to a substantial reduction of the pressure and eventually to the amount of energy needed to drain the fluid. Application of this research is on the installation of pipeline taps, pertamina’s crude oli supply, installation of sump drainage pipe in the mining regions and many other applications. In this study, will be varied so that the flow rate will be obtained by varying Reynolds number, and will be searched the relationship betwenReynolds and major losses, the speed of the mayor losses that occur with such a relationship will be obtained as a study in fluid mechanics studies From this study indicate that the relationship between Reynolds number the friction factor is which means the greater the speed of the major losses will be greater. The lowest value of friction factor at full valve opening with Re= 1,91 x 105 to the value f = 1,513 x 10-2 and the highest value of friction factor occurs at the valve opening quarter with Re = 4,30 x 104 to the value f= 2,195 x 10-2. The highest major with the value of ∆h= 196,67 mm at a speed v= 19,572 m/s (at full valve opening), the lowest rate of major losses on the value of ∆h= 0 (small) at the speed of v = 2,453 m/s.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi tekanan, kecepatan, serta perbandingan nilai koefisien lift/drag dari keempat airfoil ketika dipengaruhi variasi jarak external flap dengan metode numerik menggunakan software Autodesk CFD.Variasi jarak external flap dilakukan secara vertical sepanjang 2.5 – 7 mm dengan interval 0.5 mm. Selain itu sudut serang (AoA) yang digunakan pada airfoil utama ialah sebesar 5°. Sedangkan pada external flap AoA yang digunakan sama, namun terhadap AoA airfoil utama. Kemudian panjang chord external flap sebesar 20% dari panjang chord airfoil utama dan total nilai bilangan Reynold yang digunakan dalam proses simulasi ialah sebesar 53000.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan distribusi tekanan, kecepatan serta nilai koefisien lift dan drag ketika dipengaruhi variasi jarak hanyalah terjadi pada airfoil asimetris (Gottingen 79 & Naca 23012) yang mana pada airfoil Gottingen 79 perubahan terjadi seiring dengan bertambahnya jarak hingga pada jarak maksimum yaitu 5 mm. Sedangkan pada airfoil Naca 23012 perubahan signifikan hanya terjadi pada satu jarak saja yaitu 4,5 mm. Selain itu perbandingan nilai koefisein lift/drag tertinggi dari keempat airfoil terjadi pada airfoil Joukowski 12% sebesar 26.91. Hal ini dikarenakan nilai koefisien drag yang terjadi pada airfoil Joukowski sangatlah rendah bila dibandingkan pada airfoil lainnya. Selanjutnya perbandingan koefisien tertinggi diikuti oleh airfoil Gottingen 79 sebesar 26.37, lalu airfoil Naca 23012 sebesar 23.22 dan yang terendah pada airfoil Nasa SC 0406 sebesar 10.73.Kata Kunci : Airfoil, External Flap, Koefisien Lift, Koefesein Drag, Metode Numerik, Autodesk CFD

Abstract

Some linguists argue about the definition of reading, WJS Poerwodarminto (1976: 71) says that reading is seen while express an article with the aim to determine its contents. Another opinion expressed by Kastowo (1978: 1) that reading is catching an understanding through writing. Based on the above opinion, the reading reveals not only writing but also understanding the text. The formulation of this research as follows: "Is there an ability increasing to understand the rather long text (150-200 words), manual guide, the meaning of words in a dictionary / encyclopedia through portfolio learning model of the second semester of the fourth grade students of SDN Kebonsari 01 Madiun in the Schooling Year 2011/2012? "study, researchers collaborate with other teachers and the principals. Researchers involved in the study from the beginning to the end of the study. Researcher is trying to see, observe, feel, live, reflect and evaluate learning activities. The stages of research consist of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The study collected data were statistically analyzed using the formula that is mean or average to get accurate results. From the analysis and observations on this study and refers to the hypothesis can be concluded that: there is an increased ability to understand the text rather long (150-200 words), manual guide, the meaning of words in a dictionary / encyclopedia through cooperative learning model of fourth grade students of SDN 01 Kebonsari in the Schooling year 2011/2012.

Abstract

Prototipe mesin uji lelah dengan beban tarik bolak-balik dari jenis mekanis direncanakan dan dibuat. Mekanisme beban awal statis terdiri dari baut, puli-mur, tali dan masa pembeban. Spesimen dipegang dengan pasak-pasak yang dapat dikencangkan. Pegas pembeban dipasang seri dengan spesimen. Beban bolak-balik dibangkitkan dengan engkol atur. Batang-batang penghubung, batang transmisi, bersama-sama engkol atur menyusun mekanisme pembebanan.

Abstract

Kegiatan  yang  sangat  perlu  dilakukan  oleh  setiap  kegiatan    produksi  pada  sistem  produksi  adalah pengawasan kualitas (quality control) didalam pembuatan barang dan jasa  yang dihasilkannya. Usaha Kegiatan  pengawasan  mutu  tersebut  diarahkan  untuk  memberikan  pengawasan  kualitas  terhadap komponen–komponen, proses pembuatannya  serta hasil akhir sehingga diperoleh output yang betul - betul baik. Pelaksanaan dari kegiatan pengawasan untuk ini tentu saja akan menekan besarnya jumlah barang  yang  rusak  (defect  produc)  didalam  proses  produksi.  Hasil  penelitian  berdasarkan  diagram pareto,  sebab  akibat  menunjukkan  bahwa  persentase  cacat  atau  faktor  penyebab  terjadinya kerusakan/pecah kantong zak semen adalah karena  jahitan kantong semen yang tidak tepat,kantong semen yang tipis dan lem perekat yang tidak sesuai
