Abstract

The focus of this study is to measure the effect of human resource management practice in the employees of hotel sector in Batam City. Samples were taken from 299 hotel employees of 5 a four-star hotel in the district of Batu Ampar. The Research data that has been collected is analyzed using Partial Least Squares Path Modelling (PLS-SEM) program version 3. Results from this study showed first, recruitment has a significant effect on employee performance. Second, the selection has a significant effect on employee performance. Third, the training doesn’t have a significant effect on employee performance. Fourth, compensation doesn’t have a significant effect on employee performance. Fifth, promotion doesn’t have a significant effect on employee performance.Keywords: Recruitment, Selection, Training, Compensation, Promotion, and Employee Performance.

Abstract

Agama akhir-akhir ini menjadi perbincangan hangat setelah banyaknya aksi kekerasan yang dilakukan atas nama agama. Kekerasan itu berawal dari tuduhan tentang kafir dan Islamnya seseorang hingga berakhir dengan pemaksaan agama atau bahkan pengrusakan dan pembunuhan. Beberapa lembaga pemerhati keragaman melaporkan bahwa Jawa Barat adalah zona merah bagi kebhinekaan. Tulisan ini memotret pandangan dan sikap para pelajar dan santri tentang pluralisme. Hal ini dimaksudkan untuk melihat dua hal. Pertama, bagaimana pandangan mereka tentang pluralisme sekaligus dasar teologis yang melatar belakangi pandangan tersebut. Kedua, apakah pandangan tersebut memberi pengaruh pada sikap mereka dalam relasi agama atau interagama. Untuk mencapai itu, peneliti mewawancarai secara mendalam beberapa pelajar dan santri dengan melihat latar belakang sekolah, pesantren dan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pandangan santri dan pelajar terhadap keragaman terbagi dua. Ada yang menerimanya sebagai sunnatullah dan karenanya harus disikapi dengan baik. Ada juga yang menolak perbedaan tersebut dengan dasar kebenaran itu tunggal. Namun itu, sikap terhadap perbedaan tidak menunjukkan anarkhisme, baik yang menolak pluralisme apalagi yang menerimanya.

Abstract

In the terms of gender and sexuality, homosexual often has been accused as part of western culture, since Indonesian culture—and Islam—reputedly said it was aganist the western culture that uphold the freedom in many ways. Islam rejected the existence of homosexual. However there were some of them whom is born and raised in the islamic educational environments like Pesantren or islamic universities. This phenomena has become paradox from that thesis which lesbianism is not born from the womb of western culture. Even lesbianism itself is created by their own relational ideas. How the lesbians constructing religiousity over aganist the rigidity of textual commentation is the main question in this journal. And it has been founded that the lesbians feels their sexual orientation differences from early stage. That different kind of perception become their basis of behavior and interpreting life itself. Thus, their construction of religious commentary is not exactly similar with the majorities.

Abstract

The binahong leaves (Andredera cordifolia (Ten) Stennis) contains phytochemical compounds that have the potentialas feed additive. Itused as a supplementary ration that canimprovecarcassqualityofbroilers. The research aimed to study benefit of the binahong leaves powder as a feed additive towards carcass quality ofbroilers. This research was conductedin the farm of Faculty ofAnimal Husbandryand Fishery, Tadulako University, Palu. The used material of this study were 80 DOCbroiler chickens and were placed in an individual cage with a size of 100x 100 x 60 cm. The completely randomized design was applied with4 treatmentsand5replications.The tested treatments were 4 levels of binahong leaf powder mixed into the ration: R0 (ration without leaf powder binahong); R1 (ration with leaf powder binahong 0.5%); R2 (ration with leaf powder binahong 1%); and R3 (raation with leaf powder binahong 1,5%); The results ofvariance analysis showedthat theuse ofleaf powderbinahongasadditivein the ration had significant effect (P<0,05) to percentage of carcass, percentage of chestcarcass component, as well as  percentage of abdominal fat.The average percentage ofcarcassfor the treatmentR0(67,3%), R1 (68,3%), R2 (69,0%) and R3 (69,9%). The average percentage of chest carcass component for the treatment R0 (34,1%), R1 (34,5%), R2 (35,1%) and R3 (35,6%). The average percentage of abdominal fat for thetreatmentR0 (1,49%), R1 (1,46%), R2 (1,13%) and R3 (1,07%). It can be concludedthat theuse ofbinahongleaf powderup1.5% levelasfeedadditivein the rationresulted inthe best resultsonthe physicalquality ofbroilercarcasses.Keywords: abdominal fat,broiler, carcass, leafbinahong powder.

Abstract

Faktor globalisasi, perkembangan teknologi, pertumbuhan ekonomi, kompetisi internasional, masalah lingkungan dan perubahan politik merupakan beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan pentingnya mengembangkan kemampuan dan pengetahuan untuk sukses di abad ke XXI. Dalam pendidikan, peserta didik perlu dibekali pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperlukan agar dapat berkompetisi dalam menghadapi abad XXI. Peserta didik harus dibekali dengan kompetensi foundational knowledge (to know), humanistic knowledge (to value) dan metaknowledge (to act). Salah satu aspek yang penting dikembangkan yaitu communication and collaboration. Aspek ini merupakan bagian dari kompetensi metaknowledge. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran terkait implementasi pembelajaran IPA melalui penerapan model Susan Loucks-Horsley untuk meningkatkan communication and collaboration peserta didik. Dalam artikel ini akan dikaji beberapa hal diantaranya pembelajaran IPA, Model Susan Loucks-Horsley serta keterampilan abad XXI yaitu communication and collaboration. Setelah memahami uraian mengenai pembelajaran IPA berbasis model Susan Loucks-Horsley diharapkan guru dan calon guru IPA memiliki ide baru dan tambahan wawasan dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran IPA. Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ Along with the times, the needs and demands of society will continue to change. Factors of globalization, technological development, economic growth, international competition, environmental issues and political changes are some of the factors that led to the importance of developing the skills and knowledge to succeed in the XXI century. In education, students need to be equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to compete in the face of the XXI century. Learners must be equipped with the competence foundational knowledge (to know), humanistic knowledge (to value) and metaknowledge (to act). One important aspect is communication and collaboration developed. This aspect is part of competence metaknowledge. This study aims to provide an overview regarding the implementation of learning science through the application of models Susan Loucks-Horsley to improve communication and collaboration of learners. In this article will be reviewed several things including learning science, Model Susan Loucks-Horsley and XXI century skills ie communication and collaboration. After understanding the description of the model-based science learning Susan Loucks-Horsley expected of teachers and prospective science teachers have new ideas and additional insights in implementing learning science.

Abstract

Kedua, apakah pandangan tersebut memberi pengaruh pada sikap mereka dalam relasi agama atau interagama. Untuk mencapai itu, peneliti mewawancarai secara mendalam beberapa pelajar dan santri dengan melihat latar belakang sekolah, pesantren dan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pandangan santri dan pelajar terhadap keragaman terbagi dua. Ada yang menerimanya sebagai sunnatullah dan karenanya harus disikapi dengan baik. Ada juga yang menolak perbedaan tersebut dengan dasar kebenaran itu tunggal. Namun itu, sikap terhadap perbedaan tidak menunjukkan anarkhisme, baik yang menolak pluralisme apalagi yang menerimanya.
