Abstract

The unbalanced load in electric power distribution system always happen and it is caused by single phase loads on low voltage system. The effect of the unbalanced load is appear as a neutral current. These neutral current cause losses, those are losses caused by neutral current in neutral conductor on distribution transformers and losses caused by neutral current flows to ground. In conclusion, when high unbalanced load happened, then the neutral current that appear is also high.

Abstract

Abstract Electrical system Tadulako University has problems voltage drop and load unbalance caused by the distance network connecting the distribution substation and the supplied building is so far. Moreover, the load distribution is irregular resulting in drop voltage and load imbalance. This study is specifically addressed to discuss the problems occurred in Gardu Selatan Universitas Tadulako, where the substation is supplying the load to the Fakultas Pertanian, Fakultas Kehutanan, Fakultas Teknik, Fakultas MIPA, FKIK, and several other new buildings. The method used is to measure the current and voltage on the transformer and also on the panels in the building who experience a voltage drop by using Amperes pliers. The results of the measurements and analysis are that the 185 Volt low voltage drop has passed the standard provisions PUIL where the voltage drop across the low voltage network is 4%. This is because the area supplied by the substation south very wide and long enough network that reaches 804 meters so far has exceeded the provision SPLN maximum of 350 meters. It is therefore necessary to transfer electricity network path between distribution substations closer to the buildings in the supply. To avoid load unbalance it is necessary precision in any additional load on each phase and phase transfer loads to smaller current values measured during peak load.   Keywords: Drop Voltage, Load unbalance, distribution substation.

Abstract

Components that affect the amount of electricity payment is determined by the cost of kwh and therequested amount of power connected to the PLN. The amount of the charges is directly proportional tothe amount of load or wattage is connected while the power associated with the need factor. Factordemand shows the proportion of electricity used from the total available power. The ideal factor needsto be in the range of figures 60% - 80% .. If these values are low, then there is the possibility of a contractmade to PLN's power is too high that will affect the cost burden that must be paid. To serve theelectricity needs in the campus environment, the University of Tadulako mememiliki 29 meter connectedwith a power ranging from 450 VA sd 345 000 VA. Based on data from electricity bills in 2005, new Untadpay as much as Rp 573.544.300 per year or an average of Rp 47.795.358 per month, but based on datautility bills year 2008/2009 Untad has paid of Rp 956.114.955 per year or an average of Rp 79.676.246 permonth. The result showed that some of the resources that exist in the environment are connected Untad is below60% (not ideal), so it must be lowered to reduce electricity costs to be paid each month to the PLN.

Abstract

The amount of electricity bill payment of Universitas Tadulako in recent months has increased to between Rp. 240.000.000,- and Rp. 260.000.000,- per month. This bill payment increases three times compared by the average of electricity bill payment in period 2009 - 2010.  Based on the monitoring and measurement results of the electricity  load in surrounding  Universitas Tadulako, it is found that the increasing of the electricity bill payment is caused by the unbalancing of the load consumption pattern such that resulting in lots of losses, so many electricity consumption in out of the work hours and there is a substation that uses the government group electricity rates which should use social group electricity rates.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much influence the replacement of lighting (fluorescent or TL lamps, incandescent) with energy efficient lighting towards payment of electricity accounts Untad which has now reached an average of Rp 79,676,246 per month. Data on the number and type of lighting used in this study, obtained from the equipment Untad. From the existing data is known that fluorescent lamps 40 watts of power still dominates its use when compared with energy-saving lamps. Spread usage of these lights in the room numbering approximately 708 rooms in Untad environment. The calculation of savings done by looking at the difference in cost between the energy-saving lamps with other lamps for 12,000 hours of lighting the flame. Results showed that by replacing all fluorescent lamps (TL lamps), incandescent bulbs with energy-efficient lighting can reduce electricity Untad payment of Rp 4,396,015 per month or as much as Rp 52,752,180 per year. If adjusted to the age of the lamp will be a savings of USD 253,650,065 while the investment cost of energy saving light bulbs should be issued to replace the entire lamp is only about USD 144.75 million.   Keywords : saving energy,  fluorescent lamp, saving energy lamp.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of energy use and savings opportunities that can be obtained from a room based on IKE value. The intensity of energy consumption (IKE) is a term that used to determine levels of energy consumption in a building. IKE value is calculated based on the number of electric power used by all existing electrical equipment in a room and then divided by the area of the room. To find out how much energy usage level of a room or a building IKE value calculations and compared with the standard IKE value. IKE value will determine the criteria of a room using electricity in this category can be wasteful or not in use electrical energy. When the results were equal to or less than the target IKE, the energy audit activities can be stopped or continued with the hope that IKE values obtained Lower again. The results showed that of the 708 rooms have been evaluated including 136 belonging to wasteful use of electricity, with the savings opportunities that can be done as much asRp 17.686.222 per month.   Keywords : energy audit, energy consumption intensity.
