Abstract

The background of this research is the low of the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts, so that most of the student’s get the score under Criteria Minimum Masteri (KKM),  the students do not active a long the learning process. The purpose of this research is to sint out the student’s learning activiti a long the application of kooperatif learning type Talking Stick and to now that the student’s understanding mathematical concept by using learning Talking Stick strategi more better than the student’s  understanding of mathematical concepts by using conventional learning in class IX of SMP Semen Padang. The study of this research is experimental, by design random experiment to ward tha subject. The population of this study is student’s of class IXSMP Semen Padang that consist of five classes. The sampel take by using random sampling tecnique.The instrument of this research is the observation paper of student’s activities and the test of understanding mathematical concept. The technique of analyzing data of this research is T-test one hide by MINITAB. So that researcer can conclude that It the students understanding of mathematical concepts by using kooperatif learning type talking stick better than students with an understanding of the mathematical concept learning in class IX conventional SMP Semen Padang.Keywords:kooperatif Learning, Class Concern, Understanding Concepts

Abstract

Students comprehension of mathematical concepts are relatively low is underlying done this research. The purposes research is to increase students comprehension of mathematical concepts with models of cooperative learning Type group investigation with the media three charts in seventh grade. This type of research is the study of the random experiment with the design of the subject. From the results of the study concluded that students comprehension of mathematical concepts with Cooperative Learning Type Group Investigation and also Three Charts Media  models has increased.

Abstract

The study of this research is experimental, by design random experiment to ward tha subject. The population of this study is student’s of class eighth SMPN 1 Tigo Nagari that consist of six classes. The sampel take by using random sampling tecnique. The instrument of this research is the observation paper of student’s activities and the test of understanding mathematical concept. The technique of analyzing data of this research is T-test one hide by MINITAB. Based on the analizing data, the researcer know that basth of the sampel class have normal distribution and homogeneus  in α=0,05. Hypothesis test the researcer get P-value=0,008 smaller than α=0,05, so hypothesis of this peaser is acceped. So that researcer can conclude that It the students understanding of mathematical concepts by using Aktive learning type Class Concern better than students with an understanding of the mathematical concept learning in class VIII conventional SMPN 1 Tigo Nagari.

Abstract

The background of research causes of  students do not courage to question the teachers and  student less  understanding of mathematical concepts. This study aims is to determine students math concept comprehension with Questions Students Have strategy and quiz better than math concept comprehension with conventional learning. The research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design. Population is students in the class VIII SMPN 23 Padang. The instrument used is examination with reliability 0,81. To test hypothesis used t-test one side with MINITAB, obtained P-Value 0,000 less than α = 0,05, so hypothesis received. In conclusion, students math concept comprehension with Questions Students Have strategy and quiz better than students math concept comprehension with conventional learning.

Abstract

This research has the background that the progression of students’ concept comrehensions and their mathematical concept comprehensions are still low. The purposes of this research are to know: 1) the progression of concept comprehension of VIII-grade students of SMPN 2 Lengayang by applying the active learning strategy with ICM type in mathematical learning in an experimental class, and 2)  whether the students’ mathematical concept comprehension by applying the active learning strategy with ICM type is better than that by using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 2 Lengayang.This is an experimental research. The population in this research is the VIII-grade students, who were registered in the year 2013/2014. The selected samples were VIIIa-class as an experimental class and VIIIb-class as control.  The instrument used in this research is tests of concept comprehension in the form of essay with reliability of 0.594.Based on the results of data analysis on the students’ mathematical concept comprehension for both sample classes, it is obtained that the average concept comprehension for the experimental class is 74.24 and for the control class 60.62. The results of hypothesis tests show that P-value is 0.003 on the real level of        α = 0.05, and because P-value < α, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Then, it can be concluded that the students’ mathematical concept comprehension by applying the active learning strategy with ICM type is better than that by using the conventional one for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 2 Lengayang.

Abstract

The background of this research is students mathematical concept comprehension is low. The type of this research is experimental research by design randomized trial on the subject. Population in this study were all of the students in the class VIII SMPN 6 X Koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok. The technique in taking the sample is randomly, as an experimental class VIII3 and a control class VIII2. The istrument that researcher used in this study is the analysis of learning quiz and essay from for final test. The data obtained in the analysis by using a normality test, homogenity test and t-test. The analysis of the data found that the mean score of quiz for the first meeting is 82.05, second meeting is 84.11, third meeting is 80,84 and forth meeting 89.21. The mean score of the final test was found that 72.02 in experimental   class. It  was  better  than  the mean  score  of  control  class  60.61.t-test in this research by using one way with software MINITAB get P-value equal to 0,017, it means that less than α = 0,05, this the hypothetical in this study received. In conclusion by applying cooperative learning techniques of  Two Stay Two stray is accompanied quiz better than the students concept comprehension by using conventional learning students of class VIII SMPN 6 X Koto Singkarak with a 95% confidence level

Abstract

The research was background by the result of the students’ value is low, students’ activity is not effective and the students afraid to extend their idea and their opinion about lesson material that just was learned. The research has purpose to know: 1. how students learning activity in mathematics subject by apply active learning method type Giving Question and Getting Answer faith Quiz at grade VIII students of SMPN 1 Pancung Soal. 2. does the score mathematics that apply active learning method type Giving Question and Getting Answer faith Quiz be better than conventional method. Kind of the research is experimental research. To take the sample by using random sample, VIII.2 as experimental class and VIII.3 as control class. Can conclude that the score of students’ mathematics subject by using active learning type Giving Question and Getting Answer faith Quiz be better than the score of learning that apply conventional method.

Abstract

Background of this research is the low of solution of the teachers’ effort to solve the students’ problem in learning mathematic at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang. The purposes of this research: 1) to know how the improvement of the students at ability to solve the students’ problem in learning mathematic at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang using cooperative learning model type CIRC. 2) to know what is the achievement the students’ to save the students’ problem in learning mathematic at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang by using cooperative learning model type CIRC better than using conventional learning. The type of this research is experimental research. The result of the hypothesis testing is P-value 0,000 lower than α 0,05, so the hypothesis of the result is accepted. It can be concluded that the students’ ability to solve the students’ problem in learning mathematic by using cooperative learning model type CIRC better than conventional learning at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang.

Abstract

Based on background knowledge of this research was understanding of mathematical concept still low and their habit was waiting the answer from their friend. This research is to determine whether students’ understanding of concept mathematics by using SQ3R methode better than students’ understanding of concept mathematics by using conventional strategy at VIIIA and VIIIC SMPN 10 Padang. Type of this research was experiment. Population of this research was students at VIIIA and VIIIC SMPN 10 Padang, and sample of this research was students class VIIIC as experimental class and VIIIA as control class. Post-Test was as instrumentation in this research, with reliability 0.991. From the data analysis get mean score from students’ achievement in experimental class was 84.85 that high rather than in control class that was 67.44. Data analysis was done by using hypothesis testing. Tcalculated= 6.03 and ttable= 1.70.  so hypothesis was acceptable. So, we can conclude that students’ understanding of concept mathematics that used Quiz Team methode better than conventional strategy at VIIIA and VIIIC Grade of SMPN 10 Padang.

Abstract

 This research did based on the students’ problem at grade VII SMPN 29 padang in learning mathemathics which make the students get overwhelmed in finishing the task if the teacher give different exercise with the example given by the student.The type of this research is experimental research in which the research subjects are chosen randomly. The sampling methods did randomly. There are two classes that become tha sample they are VII7 as exerimental class and VII6 as control class.The instrument used by the researche is quiz and mathematics concept comprehension test by using essay form  with the reablility test is .the data analysis that is used is one side t test. Based on the result of data analysis it is known that both of sample classes is normal and homogen distribution in the real degree α = 0,05. the result of hypothesis testing got from P-value = 0,001 is lower than α = 0,05, therefore the hypothesis, in this research, is accepted
