Abstract

The transition between childhood and adulthood is the period of puberty. An important event in puberty is rapid body growth, the appearance of secondary sex features, menarche, and psychic changes. Menarche is too early to be associated with risk factors for some malignant disease such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and myoma. Hyperplasia cholecystitis, incidence of uterine cancer and risk of Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM / Type II) as adults. The consumption of junk food tends to increase from year to year. The habit of consuming junk food among modern teenage children will affect the improvement of nutrition. This is because the fat content, animal protein and trans fat contained in junk food will trigger the release of hormones that affect the occurrence of menarche and the emergence of secondary signs in children faster than normal age. The purpose of this study analyzed the effect of junk food consumption on early puberty incidence in junior high school girls in Jember district. This study was conducted in two stages, the first quantitative observational analytic study with cross sectional design and the second stage of the laboratory using pre experimental design with one shot case study approach for the most frequently consumed food samples. The sample of this research is 88 female teenagers of junior high shool. Data analysis was processed using logistic regression statistic test of significance level p<0,05. Result showed that there was significant effect between junk food consumption pattern on early puberty statistically p = 0,002 < 0,05. From the laboratory test results also showed that the fat content of junk food on average over 20%. The conclusion are consumption habits, consumption time and percentage of fat consumed from junk food affect the incidence of early puberty in female teenagers, while the frequency of consumption does not affect the incidence of early puberty. Abstract

Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) is a well-known method to analyze the flow of acoustic and vibration energy in a complex structure. This study investigates the application of the corrected SEA model in a non-reverberant acoustic space where the direct  field component from the sound source dominates  the total  sound  field rather than  a diffuse field in a reverberant space which the  classical SEA model assumption is based on. A corrected SEA model is proposed where the direct ?eld component in the energy is removed and the power injected in the subsystem considers only the remaining power after the loss at ?rst re?ection.  Measurement is conducted a box divided into two rooms separated by a partition with an opening where the condition of reverberant and non-reverberant can conveniently be controlled. In the case of a non-reverberant space where acoustic material was installed inside the wall of the experimental box, the signals are corrected by eliminating the direct ?eld component in the measured impulse response. Using the corrected SEA model, comparison of the coupling loss factor (CLF) with the theory shows good agreement.

Abstract

According to epidemiological and animal study, the daily intake of garlic have important role in decreasing of cancer prevalence and tumor metastasis. However, mechanism of anti-metastatic of garlic is not fully understood. In the present study, we examined the anti metastatic effect of a brief exposure to boiled garlic extract (BGE) on A549 Lung cancer cells. Cytotoxicity BGE on A549 lung cancer cells was tested using MTT Assay. Migration and invasion scratching wound assay A549 lung cancer cells was tested usingscratching wound assay and agarose dropt explants assay. The growth of A549 lung cancer cell was measured using Colony forming assay. To explore the molecular mechanism and effect of BGE on migration and invasion, western blotting was used to analyze the FAK/Paxillin pathway. We found that BGE inhibits the growth, migration and invasion  of A549 lung cancer cells at 300 µg/mL. Interestingly, BGE inhibits migration and invasion of A549lung cancer cells by decreasing the total of FAK and P-Y397 expression at 6 hours after a brief exposure, but not influence of the paxillin expression. We think the present finding demonstrate a novel anti-metastatic effect of garlic and suggests a certain garlic-derived compounds, BGE may be potential agent for inhibiting migration and invasion through decreasing the total of FAK and P-Y397 expression in the cancer cell.  Keywords: A549 lung cancer cells, boiled garlic extract, FAK mechanism, migration cell
