Abstract

The developent of madrasa should not depend on financial capital, like infrastructure and media. There is another variabel which has an important role, that is social capital. If the two variables are maximally used by the headmaster, madrasah will increase rapidly, moreover that madrasa has geneologically the big mass basis. Practically, there are many madrasas that have that two modals, but only few of them can manage to be a power to develop madrasa.  One of them is Madrasa Istiqomah Sambas Purbalingga, which uses social capital, espesially trust, as a strategi in developing madrasa, despite the fact that it does not stand under a certain religious organization.  So, the research question of this study is how MI Istiqomah Sambas Purbalingga build and manage the social capital of trust. In addition, this reseacrh will find out a good strategy in developing madrasa and strengthening the social capital. To collect data, the writer performed observation and interviewed some informants and collect some needed documentation. The collected data were then analyzed and connected to the theory used and finally was made conclusion. The conclusion of this research is that social capital of trust was built by philosophical, practical and institutional trust. The inclusive character of madrasa can also help to build trust.

Abstract

It is difficult to say that the diversity in using a language by men and women is just caused by their sexual difference. Thefact show that the factor of social and culture plays more important role and determines how men and women should speak. There are, atleast, three factors that influence in transforming the difference of language expression, that is, the domination or power, the different way oftreating men or women, and socialization. Because of these factors, we find out some expressions, in English language, which representgender inequalities; e.g., asymmetric marked and unmarked term, and semantical derogation.

Abstract

The value education plays an important role to form children’s attitude. But it will be fruitless if it is just taught to the children by speech methode. Some experts claim that the appearing of negative conducts performed by teenagers is caused by the failure of using methode in the education of value. Moral is something practiced in our life, and not just be memorized, because it belongs to affective domain. Therefore, our schools just allocate a little and limited time to internalize it. The result is that the education of value turns to cognitive domain. So, we can see that there are many students with good remark but they act bad deed. Internal ization is regaded as the best way to plant that value.

Abstract

Even though there is no representative data reporting the profile of Indonesian students’ proficiency in English, it seems that English teaching program has been largely unsuccessful. Factually, most of high school graduates just had average reading vocabulary of 1000 words, a number considered too small. This phenomenon needs an appropriate solution. Extensive Reading Program (ERP) may be the answer. Why? Because it can, with “easy and interesting” strategy, motivate students’ interest in reading, increase their language acquisition, and eliminate their negative predisposition on English as either difficult language or bored lesson.

Abstract

The article is a research on entrepreneur-based pesantren(Islamic boarding school). The two main questions proposed in this article include; what characters have the students been accustomed to and how to internalize those characters to the students? So far, pesantrenhas been stereotyped as an institution that creates unemployment. The society considers pesantrengraduates as competent, and even prominent, in socio-religious field but are lacking in the creative economy field and the utilization of natural resources. PesantrenAnwarus Sholihin Purwokerto, in this context, were striving to bridge the competency gap. This research found that PesantrenAnwarus Sholihin Purwokerto has internalized entrepreneurial character through education and training, entrepreneurship motivation, and practices in production and marketing. Processed food products, including fruits and vegetables, were made from plants harvested in the farm. Along with these activities, pesantreninstilled the entrepreneurship characters to the students, including honesty, self-motivation, teamwork, risk-taking, and creative-innovative skill. Entrepreneur-based pesantren can provide both material and moral contribution to the society. Apart from being economically independent to support the students’ needs, pesantrencan also create entrepreneurial characters that will make the students proud of being its graduates, and in turn, help them becomepersistent individuals in the future.
