Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research was the low ability of students mathematical understanding which effect to the lower score of mathematics learning outcomes in junior high school. The type of this research is experimental research and using the static group comparison design. The population in this research were all grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. The sample in this research consists of two class, where the IX1 as an experimental class and the IX2 as a control class. The aim in this research was to know the effect of implementation discovery learning model toward students mathematical understanding ability based on KD 3.7 Create the generalization of the surface area and the volume of curved side geometry (tube, cone, and ball), and KD 4.7 Complete the contextual problems which are related to the surface area and the volume of curved side geometry (tube, cone, and ball), and also the combination of some of the curved side geometries. The instruments in this research were mathematical early ability test and the mathematical understanding ability test (postest). The result of mathematical early ability test was used for determining the sample of class. The postest result was analyzed by nonparametric statistic test of Mann Whitney and the magnitude of the effect was calculated using the Cohen’s formula. The result of the research showed that implementation discovery learning model gave the positive effect toward the mathematical understanding ability. The implementation discovery learning model had a magnitude of the effect for 76% toward the students mathematical understanding ability at grade IX of SMP Negeri 1 Kampar Timur and included in the medium category.Key Words: Discovery Learning, Mathematical Understanding Ability.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the students achievement in learning mathematics especially grade VIII1 of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru under the Mastery Minimum Criteria with percentage of 43,6% on the test about cube, cuboid, prism, pyramid. Beside, this research was based on the low of students learning activity with the percentage of 60,53% of students still looks passive in the process of learning math. This research is a class action research. This research aims to improve the leraning activities students and learning result in mathematics in grade VIII1 of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru by implementation of CTL approach. The analyzed in quantitive showed there is an increase in againts the seven indicators of the activity of student learning. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematic from the basic score with percentage 38,46% to 68,42% on the test I and 81,58% on the test II. Based on the result of this research could be concluded that the implementation of CTL Approach can improve the students learning activity and student’s achievement of learning mathematic in grade VIII1 of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2016/2017.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know  the differences of enhancement in mathematical problem solving ability (MPSA) between the students who received soft skill-based metacognitive learning (SSML) with the students who got conventional learning (CL). This research is a quasi experimental design with pretest-postest control group. The population in this study is the students of Junior High School in Pekanbaru city. The sample consist of 135 students, 68 of them are from the high-level school, and 67 students are from the middle-level school. The instruments are mathematical prior knowledge (MPK) test, MPSA test, instruction observation sheet, students journal about the lesson, and the guideline for interview. The data was analyzed using t-test and two-way ANOVA. The result of data analysis indicates: (1) overall, the enhancement of students' MPSA with SSML approach significantly is higher than those with conventional learning (CL); (2) there is no interaction between the learning approach (SSML and CL) with the school level (high and middle) toward the enhancement of MPSA; (3) there is no interaction between the learning approach (SSML and CL) with MPK (upper, middle, and low) toward the enhancement of MPSA.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the low outcomes study of mathematical  of students class XI MAN 3 Pekanbaru. The purposes of this research are (1) to describe the difference of mathematical outcomes study of students who study through discovery learning (DL) model with student who study through conventional learning with scientific approaching; (2) to describe the improvment of mathematical outcomes study of students who study through discovery learning (DL) model with students who study through conventional learning with scientific approaching. This research is an experimental research (quasi experiment) with The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this research is all students of class XI MAN 3 Pekanbaru. The sample of this research consits of two classes, class XI MIA2 as experiment class and XI MIA1 as control class. The research instruments are mathematical prior knowledge test and matehmatical outcomes study test. Mathematical prior knowledge test score were used to select the sample of this research. Data were analysed by using Independent sample t-test preceded by normality test and homogenity of variances test. The result showed that the difference of mathematical and the improvement of mathematical outcomes study of students who study through DL model is higher than student who study through conventional learning with scientific approaching.  Key Words: Discovery Learning, Mathematical Outcomes Study

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve thelearning process and to improve the student’s mathematical problem solving ability byapplying Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this research are the studentof class VII4 Junior High School 11 Pekanbaru at first semester of academic years2015/2016, which amounts to 38 students. This research consists of two cycles, eachcycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.Data collected through observation and student’s mathematical problem solving abilitytest. Data analysis is done by observation data analysis and student’s mathematicalproblem solving ability data analysis. The action is successful if the scores of teacher’sactivities and student’s activities increase in every meeting, improve the student’smathematical problem solving ability every cycle and improve the classical’smathematical problem solving ability. The result of observation show teacher andstudents activities are improve better than before in every meeting. Based on dataanalisys of student’s mathematical problem solving ability test show the average N-gainof student’s mathematical problem solving ability in first cycle has improve 0,26, itsmean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in low classification and insecond cycle the average N-gain of student’s mathematical problem solving ability hasimprove 0,71, its mean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in highclassification. The average score of classical’s mathematical problem solving abilityhas improve 16,5 in first cycle than beginning test and the average score of classical’smathematical problem solving ability has improve 29,66 in second cycle than first cycle.The result of this research showed that Problem Based Learning improve the learningprocess and increase the the student’s mathematical problem solving ability of classVII4 Junior High School 11 Pekanbaru at first semester of academic years 2015/2016.Key words: Student’s mathematical problem solving ability, Problem Based Learning,Classroom action research

Abstract

Abstract The objective of this research was to find out the influence of applying problem based learning based on soft skills toward increasing students’ creativity in the subject Development of High School Mathematics Curriculum (DHSMC). The method used in this research was Pre-experimental method with the Intec-group comparison design. It was applied to the students who took DHSMC subject in the even semester of the year 2013/2014 for two classes. There were 28 students in the experimental class, who treated by using Problem Based Learning on Based Soft Skills and 25 students in the control group which were taught by using Problem Based Learning. The data of students’ creativity was collected by using questionnaires by Likert Scale, observation, and interview. The aspects of creativity involved flexibility, originality, elaboration, and fluency. The data obtained was normal distributed and has homogen variance. As a result, the data was analyzed through the comparative independent sample that was t-test. The result of the research showed that there was not influence on students’ creativities after teaching by problem based learning based on soft skills and those by problem based learning in taking DHCMC subject.Key words: soft skills, problem based learning, creativity

Abstract

Abstract: This research to improve the learning process and the students mathematical understanding skill by implementation cooperative learning model with the discovery method. The type of this research is classroom action research with two cycles. This research was conducted at class XI MIA 3 SMA Negeri 4 Kundur of the first semester to 24 students on 2019/2020 academic year on matrix material. The research instruments used mathematical learning instruments (syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets) and instruments for collecting data (observation sheets and mathematical understanding tests). Qualitative data were collected by observation technique with observation sheets which aimed to obtain data on the activities of teacher and students. Quantitative data was collected by a test technique using a mathematical understanding ability test kit that aimed to collected students mathematical understanding ability data. Base on the analysis of the observation sheets showed that the quality of implementation of learning process was improved at each meeting. Students have been more active in learning and their participation in increasing knowledge is also getting better. Result of the test indicated that the student’s learning achievement for the first was 48,14 improved in 1st cycle to 60,87 and improved to be 79,73 in 2nd cycle. Students qualification also improved for the 2nd cycle high qualification was 66,7%, medium qualification was 8,3% and low qualification was 25% when compared to 1st cycle that was high qualification was 33,3%, medium qualification was 33,3% and low qualification was 33,3% while the first high qualification was 25%, medium qualification was 12,5% and low qualification was 62,5%Key Words: Cooperative Learning, Discovery Method, Mathematical Understanding Skill

Abstract

Abstract :This study aims to improve the learning process and improvelearning outcomes math class V students of Elementary School 019 Logas in the secondsemester of the 2015/2016 school year by implementing cooperative learning modeltype Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD). The study consisted of two cycles,each cycle consisting of four phases: planning, implementation, observation, andreflection. Each end of the cycle carried out daily tests. Data collected throughobservation and tests in the form of daily tests. Observation is used to collect activitydata of teachers and students during the learning process, while tests are used to collectdata and mathematics learning outcomes will be provided in the form of daily tests. Theresults showed that the activity of teachers and students in learning has been consistentwith the planned implementation of learning. Most of the students to actively participatein the learning process is carried out, such as at the stage of delivering the goals andmotivation of students, the stage of presenting the information, organize students intostudy groups, guiding the group work and study presented the results of the workinggroup, responding to the presentation her friend, evaluate learning outcomes andreward. The results of this study indicate that the application of cooperative learningmodel STAD can improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes mathclass V students of Elementary School 019 Logas in the second semester of the schoolyear 2015/2016.Keywords : learning outcomes, Cooperative Learning, Student Teams Achievement Division(STAD), Action Research

Abstract

This article is based on the limited lecture model for Kapita Selekta Mathematics (KSM) courses.  This article aims to reveal the results of technology validation of the website of the mathematics proficiency course (KSM) on UIN Suska Riau students. This article uses a development research model that uses Sugiyono's research steps but only limited to two stages, namely design stage and product validation stage. The validated aspect of the learning website is graphic feasibility and program feasibility with indicators: 1) the size of the learning website, 2) the design of the learning website, and 3) the design of the content of the learning website. The validation instrument is a questionnaire using Likert scale that is filled by three expert technology experts. Assessment of the validity of the learning web on the aspect of feasibility of the graphics resulted in a total validity value of 3.9 with valid categories. As for the web learning on the feasibility aspect of the program to produce the value of validity as a whole that is 4 with valid categories

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan software pemograman berbasis Pascal untuk mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan perkuliahan Metode Numerik. Pemograman tersebut dapat digunakan mahasiswa untuk mengecek beberapa perhitungan yang telah dilakukan secara manual dan  menyelesaikan masalah rumit yang tidak dapat diselesaikan secara analitis. Penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa yang telah mengikuti mata kuliah Metode Numerik pada semester ganjil 2013/2014 sebanyak 20 orang untuk merancang pemograman dan mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah Metode Numerik pada semester ganjil 2014/2015 sebanyak 58 orang untuk memanfaatkan pemograman dalam perkuliahan. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah modul pemograman Pascal, modul algoritma dari  metode-metode numerik,  dan lembar pengamatan perkuliahan. Penelitian menghasilkan software pemograman berbasis Pascal sebanyak 18 buah meliputi: (1) Metode Bagi Dua; (2) Metode Posisi Palsu; (3) Metode Newton Raphson; (4) Metode Secant; (5) Modifikasi Newton Raphson untuk Polinom;  (6) Eliminasi Gauss Naif; (7) Eliminasi Gauss dengan Pivoting Parsial; (8) Dekomposisi Doolittle; (9) Dekomposisi Crout; (10) Dekomposisi Cholesky; (11) Iterasi Jacobi; (12) Iterasi Gauss Seidel; (13) Interpolasi Beda Terbagi Newton; (14) Interpolasi Beda Maju Newton; (15) Interpolasi Beda Mundur Newton; (16) Interpolasi Lagrange; (17) Aturan Trapesium (Trapezoidal Rule); dan (18) Aturan Simpson (Simpson Rule).   Kata kunci: Pemograman berbasis Pascal, Metode Numerik, Algoritma
