Abstract

Implementasi higher order thinking skills (HOTS) dalam pembelajaran sains di SD sangat diperlukan agar siswa mendapat stimulasi untuk berpikir kritis dan kreatif melalui tugas-tugas eksperimen sains. Tugas-tugas kegiatan belajar mengajar perlu diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran berorientasi HOTS dengan disesuaikan pada karakteristik perkembangan berpikir siswa SD, kurikulum, dan disesuaikan dengan hakikat IPA sebagai produk, proses, dan sikap ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran IPA berkategori HOTS melalui penerapan pelatihan partisipatif, terdiri atas tahapan analisis kebutuhan peserta pelatihan, pengkajian materi, merancang tugas pembelajaran IPA berkategori HOTS secara kolaboratif. Subjek yang dilibatkan sebanyak 14 guru SD di Kecamatan Laweyan Kota Surakarta. Desain penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan merancang pembelajaran sains di SD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru-guru SD dalam merancang pembelajaran sains berkategori HOTS setelah mengikuti pelatihan memiliki skor lebih tinggi daripada sebelum mengikuti pelatihan partisipatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunikasi yang terjadi antara guru dengan wali peserta didik dalam membimbing belajar di rumah peserta didik kelas IV SD Negri Karangasem 3 Surakarta. metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Tehnik pengambilan sampel menggunakan tehnik purposive sampling dengan tehnik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, kuisioner, dan dokumentasi. Tehnik uji validitas data dengan cara triangulasi tehnik dan triangulasi sumber. Tehnik analisis data dengan menggunakan model Miles dan Hurberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya komunikasi antara guru dengan wali peserta didik penting dalam proses membimbing belajar dirumah.Komunikasi tersebut akan berjalan baik jika kedua belah pihak sama-sama berperan aktif dalam berkomunikasi, dapat menjadi sumber sekaligus informasi, isi pesan sesuai dengan tujuan, pemilihan media yang tepat, dan umpan balik yang terjadi. Kendala yang dialami wali peserta didik berkaitan dengan waktu dan kesibukan, kendala dalam penggunaan media komunikasi, respon guru yang dirasa kurang cepat, dan wali peserta didik yang merasa kurang mampu dalam membantu belajar. upaya yang dilakukan antara lain menumbuhkan kesadaran pentingnya menyempatkan waktu untuk berkomunikasi, manajemen waktu, meminta bantuan dalam pengoperasian media komunikasi pada orang yang lebih mahir, dan pendampingan kepada wali peserta didik ketika membimbing belajar.kendala dalam penggunaan media komunikasi, respon guru yang dirasa kurang cepat, dan wali peserta didik yang merasa kurang mampu dalam membimbing belajar. upaya yang dilakukan antara lain menumbuhkan kesadaran pentingnya menyempatkan waktu untuk berkomunikasi, manajemen waktu, meminta bantuan dalam pengoperasian media komunikasi pada orang yang lebih mahir, dan pendampingan kepada wali peserta didik ketika membimbing belajar. kendala dalam penggunaan media komunikasi, respon guru yang dirasa kurang cepat, dan wali peserta didik yang merasa kurang mampu dalam membimbing belajar.upaya yang dilakukan antara lain menumbuhkan kesadaran pentingnya menyempatkan waktu untuk berkomunikasi, manajemen waktu, meminta bantuan dalam pengoperasian media komunikasi pada orang yang lebih mahir, dan pendampingan kepada wali peserta didik ketika membimbing belajar.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between parent’s guidance and the application of curriculum 2013 toward student’s attitude of 4th grade primary school students. The form of this research was  quantitative correlation. The sample of this research were the students of fourth grade of elementary school in Ngemplak, sub-district of Boyolali regency academic year 2018/2019.  Data collection techniques are conducted by questioner, observation, and document analysis. Data analysis technique is a quantitative inferensial technique. The conclusion  of this research is ‘there is a positive relationship between parent’s guidance and the application of curriculum 2013 toward student’s attitude of 4th grade primary school students’

Abstract

Abstract. Motivation to learn is a psychological factor that is intellectual in nature, fosters enthusiasm and pleasure to learn. Motivation to learn provides direction, enthusiasm and persistence in learning. The level of student motivation to learn is influenced by encouragement that comes from within and from outside the student. This research is qualitative descriptive. This study describes the causes of low learning motivation in social studies learning in class V elementary school. The research subjects were 30 grade V students. However, the data collected was only 22 students. Collecting data using interviews with class V teachers, grade V students, and using questionnaires to class V teachers, grade V students, and class V students' parents. The findings came from intrinsic factors. The reasons are 1) the demand to study social studies with a lot of material; 2) high embarrassment, less interesting learning activities; 3) less absorbing social studies material because students are lazy to repeat reading; 4) complained, felt pressured because IPS material had to be read a lot; 5) learning motivation is low because the teacher's teaching method is less attractive; 6) The teaching method is less attractive due to the lack of teacher references

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of online learning in Social Science which was implemented in the fifth grades of elementary school as seen from the teacher’s ability to managed online learning, student activities during online learning and the outcomes of student’s cognitive learning. This research was conducted at Soropadan elementary school of Surakarta, from October to December. This research used phenomenological qualitative research method. The subject of this study were the teachers and the students of Soropadan elementary school of Surakarta. The technique of collecting the data used were observation, interview, and document analysis techniques. From those three data, it can be concluded that online learning which implemented in the fifth grades of Soropadan elementary school of Surakarta  in Social Science was less effective. This phenomenon occurs because there was only one from the three indicators that can worked properly. Many factors influence it, such as the limitation of the teachers, the parents’ ability in using or providing the online media, the passive students in the online learning process, also the decrease of the outcomes of the students’ cognitive learning during the online learning. In online learning, not only teachers, students, and schools as determinants of success but infrastructures such as devices, the internet, and the environment of students at home also have an important effect. This infrastructure factor causes low enthusiasm and activeness of students so that cognitive learning outcomes decline. Therefore this research is important for better online learning in elementary school.Keyword: effectiveness of learning, online learning, social studies learning, elementary school

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the basic teaching skills of teachers in the fourth grade social studies subject at SDN Dukuhan Kerten No.58 Surakarta. Basic teaching skills are vital to be possessed and dominated by an teacher in the learning process. This study is a qualitative examination with a descriptive technique utilizing a phenomenological approach. The strategy of taking the subject utilized was purposive sampling method. Teacher, students, and headmaster as a source of data. Data collections using observation, interview, questionnaries, and documentation. The data validity test was using triangulation method. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model to analyze the completion steps in accordance with the indicators of basic teaching skills. The result analyze of the investigation show that the  teacher has dominated 8 basic teaching skills, including: basic and advanced questioning skills, the teacher has paid attention to how to ask questions to students properly and correctly. In affirming skills, the educator has given verbal support. In the application of the skills to variation, the teacher has utilized learning media as pictures to help the learning process. In explaining skills, in explaining the teacher emphasizes the important points to be conveyed on to students. For the skills of opening and closing lessons, the teacher has likewise executed it well, the teacher gives inspiration to follow-up as every day assessments for every exercise. The application of small group discussion guiding skills, the teacher divides students into groups, organizing group discussions, observe and supervise each group, and concentrates of student in the group. In applying the class management skills, the teacher consistently gives oversight to student in the classroom. And on the application of small group and/or individual teaching skills, the teacher has set up great associations with student and parents of student to facilitate the learning process both at school and at home

Abstract

This research aims to describe the learning difficulties in social science of fourth grade students at Soropadan elementary school. The research data collected through document study analysis, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman. Results of the data analysis showed that students experienced difficulties in material diversity in Indonesia, natural resources, economic activities, jobs, and kingdoms during the Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic periods. Form of learning difficulties was difficult to understand the subject matter or the assignment and forgot easily after learn. Difficulties occured because students through that there was a lot of social science material so that it had an impact on incomprehension, lack of interest in social science lessons, lack of parental assistance while learning, limited learning resources, implementation of learning was not going well. Efforts were made to overcome the learning difficulties of social sciences: teacher observed the learning process and outcomes of students, allowed the students to find information in internet, parents thought their children to read materials, include their children to tutoring, students reread materials, asked the parent, and look for information in internet. This research can be used as a guide in minimizing learning difficulties of social science.Keywords: learning difficulties, social science, causative factor, effort, and elementary school

Abstract

This research aims to explain the function of the library, the availability of library book collections, and library management in increasing reading interest for grade 4 students of SD Negeri Soropadan Surakarta. This research is expected to provide positive input to the school in utilizing the school library, as well as efforts to improve the quality of the school library and students' reading interests. This research is qualitative research with descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection is done by observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation studies. Data sources are obtained from principals, grade IV teachers, librarians, and students. Validity of data using source triangulation. Data analysis using Miles and Huberman's interactive analytics model. The results showed that the educational function, informative function, and recreational function of the SD Negeri Soropadan library were felt by more than 50% of the students. Judging from the collection of books that are in accordance with the curriculum, thus helping students' learning. The library is used as a place for students to learn. The availability of adequate books, various types and providing books that are entertaining for students. The availability of book collections in various types and classified libraries. Collection of books oriented and relevant according to the needs of students. The arrangement and arrangement of library materials for students is already interesting. Procurement and development only relies on assistance from the government and other parties. Library management is carried out by teachers not professionals. Library services, such as circulation services, reference services, and reading room services are already running. So it was concluded that the use of the SD Negeri Soropadan library including functions, availability of collections, and management was not optimal in increasing students' reading interest.

Abstract

Kualitas guru di Indonesia menempati urutan terakhir dari 14 negara berkembang. Rendahnya partisipasi guru dalam pengembangan profesinya berdampak pada rendahnya kualitas proses pembelajaran, mutu pendidikan, dan kurangnya karya inovasi yang diciptakan guru. Program pengabdian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menggambarkan implementasi pelatihan karya inovasi berupa modul pembelajaran sebagai upaya peningkatan kemampuan profesionalisme guru SDN Purworejo. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan karya inovasi berupa modul pembelajaran secara berkala. Setelah program pengabdian dilaksanakan, terjadi peningkatan kemampuan dalam pembuatan karya inovasi peserta pelatihan yang ditandai dengan peserta mampu membuat modul pembelajaran secara baik. Hasil pengabdian dapat menjadi wadah pengetahuan baru bagi guru dan pembaca mengenai penyusunan modul pembelajaran. Selain itu, pengabdian ini dapat menjadi alternatif bagi guru untuk semakin terampil menyusun modul pembelajaran yang sesuai kebutuhannya di sekolah dan membantu pengumpulan syarat kenaikan golongan pada aspek kompetensi profesional.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the social studies learning difficulties and the handling efforts of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The approach in this research is a case study. The subjects of this study were 28 students V and it was found that there were 11 students with scores below the KKM. Data collection techniques used in this research are document study analysis, observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles-Huberman interactive analysis model. Activities in data analysis include collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data in this study uses triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that 11 students scored below the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria) on the theme 6, 7, and 8 theme test questions. Material difficulties related to the influence of human interaction and the role of society with the natural environment, names of heroes, arrival and resistance against western nations, British colonials, Dutch colonials, economic activities, and forms of business. Based on the data analysis of the factors that cause students to have difficulty learning Social Sciences because they are not interested, a lot of material, a lot of memorization, difficult questions, easy to forget, limited learning resources in schools, limited use of learning media, lack of parental assistance. The efforts made by the teacher are to give special attention and re-explanation of the material to students who do not understand the material. Efforts made by parents are to remind children to study, provide facilities in the form of the internet, and bring in tutors or include children in tutoring. Efforts made by students are asking teachers, parents, siblings, and tutors for material, looking for material in books and the internet.
