Abstract

Essentially, Archipelago Islam isn’t a new rule. Bolding of word “Archipelago” with “Islam” not only affirmation about name but also character to show type or colour from the heterogenous entity. Diversity as one of Archipelago Islam typology is the result of a long struggle between religion and culture; between text and context that complement each other so that Islam spawned a friendly, inclusive and flexible. Start from the historical and epistemological approach, this article try to presents a classical discourse the back sticking around mid- 2015 in line with the holding of the congress two major organizations: NU and Muhammadiyah. Actually, the presence of this article is also want to answer the rumors that accuse Archipelago Islam only synonymous with the Nahdliyin. Thus, Archipelago Islam considered as the new name of traditionalism Islam.

Abstract

This article examines the shift in gender relations in the context of the families of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). By taking an object in Rejotangan District as the most PMI area in Tulungagung Regency, this article uses a symbolic approach to attempts to portray the process of interaction between individuals in the context of PMI families. In this case, the concept of patriarchy is no longer valid. The husband begins to play a role in the domestic sector; cooking, taking care of children and doing everything about the household. While the wife, only has a role to fulfill the family’s living, whether as a housemaid, taking care of elderly parents, or in other sectors abroad. Such matter does not only have implications for material-economic factors but also psychologically and sociologically; there is a complexity of family problems whose impact can lead to the destruction of household relations and the education of their children.

Abstract

Deconstruction is a term identically to the Jacques Derrida’s figure. As one of postmodernsime-post-structuralism figure, he loudly challenges the logocentrism metaphysics of presence, included in the tradition of Semitic religions. This paper—using Derrida’s deconstruction approach—wants to look at the phenomenon of the denial of religious reasoning that has recently occurred in Indonesia. More precisely the phenomenon of “berhala kontemporer”. “Berhala kontemporer” is the attitude of the single truth and condemns the possibility of another truth. The logic used is the binary-opposition; iam right and others are wrong. As if the others were not given the opportunity to simply ask, or digest speech and writing because there was absolutely no room for the others. The author concludes that Derrida’s thinking is still contextually applied in the present era, even as long as there are people who are trapped in rigid logocentrism then deconstruction will never die.

Abstract

The background of this study concern to phenomenon a communication ethics no longer exist in the social media public sphere. Social media, as one of the products of the digital revolution being a free stage to spread anxiety; ethnic, racial, and religious sentiments (SARA) to the legitimacy of the authority of truth. By using critical hermeneutic approach of Jürgen Habermas, this paper attempts to examine the phenomenon of discourse struggle which is dominated by hate speech in religion and hoax on social media for the period 2017-2018 which on average loses communication ethics. The struggle for discourse in social media public sphere shows the existence of strong political penetration by utilizing religious symbols as “weapons” so that the consensus on mutual understanding does not occur.
