Abstract

Introduction. A village library is a public library that support rural community education activities. The village library should be transformed into a sosial inclusion-based library. The paper aims to explore services and activities of Jendela Dunia Village Library based on sosial inclusion. Data Collection Method. This paper used a qualitatative research method with a case study approach. Data Analysis. The data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations, and library studies. Results and Discussion. The Jendela Dunia Village Library has been run based on sosial inclusion considering aspects of collection development to support the needs of the community with a web-based digital library. Several activities have also been conducted such as organising training of computer, making handicrafts, arts, and gymnastics, organisings innovative KOBOK services, managing mobile reading bicycles, and supporting health literacy through Posyandu and Posbindu. Conclusion. Jendela Dunia Village Library is a sosial inclusion-based library that is creatively managed and has the full support of the village leader. This can be a model for other village libraries in utilizing the potential of the village. Jendela Dunia Village Library also opens training sfor library managers outside the village.

Abstract

The prolonged Covid-19 pandemic during 2020 made all activities blocked, delayed, and even stopped. The people of Batu Palano, Sungai Pua District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, have also felt the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic by limiting their activities and direct contact with people (physical distancing). One of the restricted activities is online school learning for the kindergarten to college level. Online-based school learning does not allow all regions to access it every day. This problem also affects school children in Batu Palano. Most junior high school and elementary school children in Batu Palano do not have gadgets to carry out online learning. So that Bintang Kecil Reading Park in Batu Palano becomes an oasis for school children in accessing its collections to support their online learning activities. This study analyzes the relationship between community reading park Bintang Kecil and library services, whether they have the same services even though they have different titles, and how Bintang Kecil community reading park survives in the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Implementing the management of the Bintang Kecil Reading Park really implements the role of the librarian in serving the users in it. The establishment of the Bintang Kecil Reading Park in Batu Palano Village can be the first step to increase its collection so that in the future it can develop into a village library where not only school children have access to information, but can also provide collection sources. To other people in Batu Palano Village.

Abstract

Libraries in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic have limited library service activities. Telkom University Open Library as a university library makes various efforts and innovations during the pandemic to continue to provide services to its users. The purpose of this article is to find out how to innovate Telkom University Open Library circulation services during Covid-19. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, through data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and literature review. Interviews were conducted virtually with the Head of Administration Service for the Open Library Telkom University. The results of this study Open Library Telkom University has made innovations that help users to be able to access information sources both on-site and online. Circulation services at the Telkom University Open Library have been reopened, but still, apply the applicable health protocols. Innovations made include making reservations before coming directly to the place to avoid crowds. Then the provision of electronic book access services, borrowing and returning books through online transportation services, and paying late returns with a digital wallet. Finally, the innovations carried out by Telkom University's Open Library during the pandemic provide easy access to library materials for its users.Keyword: service innovation; Covid-19; Telkom University Open LibraryABSTRAKPerpustakaan dalam menghadapi pandemi Covid-19 membatasi kegiatan pelayanan perpustakaan. Open Library Telkom University sebagai perpustakaan perguruan tinggi melakukan berbagai upaya dan inovasi di masa pandemi untuk tetap memberikan pelayanan kepada pemustakanya. Tujuan artikel ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana inovasi pelayanan sirkulasi Open Library Telkom University saat Covid-19. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif melalui pendekatan kualitatif, melalui teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, dan kajian literatur. Wawancara dilakukan secara virtual dengan Kepala Urusan Administrasi Pelayanan Open Library Telkom University. Hasil dari penelitian ini Open Library Telkom University telah melakukan inovasi yang membantu pemustaka untuk dapat mengakses sumber informasi baik secara on-site maupun online. Pelayanan sirkulasi di tempat Open Library Telkom University sudah dibuka kembali, namun tetap dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan yang berlaku. Inovasi yang dilakukan antara lain, melakukan reservasi sebelum datang langsung ke tempat demi menghindari terjadinya kerumunan. Kemudian disediakannya pelayanan akses buku elektronik, pelayanan peminjaman dan pengembalian buku melalui jasa transportasi online, dan pembayaran denda keterlambatan pengembalian dengan dompet digital. Akhir kata, inovasi yang dilakukan Open Library Telkom University di masa pandemi memberikan kemudahan akses bahan pustaka bagi pemustakanya.

Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 telah berlangsung selama kurang lebih delapan bulan lamanya di negara Indonesia. Berbagai kegiatan yang seharusnya dapat dilaksanakan secara langsung, harus dialihkan menjadi kegiatan daring, ditunda, atau bahkan ditiadakan terlebih dahulu. Kebijakan pemerintah yang mengharuskan pelaksanaan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar pada masa awal menyebarnya covid-19 di Indonesia mengharuskan berbagai lembaga ditutup, termasuk lembaga pendidikan formal atau sekolah serta perguruan tinggi. Kebijakan mendadak tersebut memberikan berbagai macam hambatan yang cukup besar dalam berbagai aspek. Salah satu bagian yang juga harus menerima hambatan tersebut adalah perpustakaan. Perpustakaan yang berada di sekolah merupakan salah satu bagian yang ikut serta dalam proses penyebaran informasi dan ilmu pengetahuan di lingkungan sekolah. Layanan perpustakaan yang semula dapat dilaksanakan secara langsung dan leluasa, harus dialihkan kepada berbagai alternatif atau bahkan diberhentikan terlebih dahulu. Proses layanan sirkulasi yang terhambat mengharuskan pustakawan untuk memikirkan cara lain untuk memastikan kembali bahan pustaka yang dipinjam oleh pemustaka telah dikembalikan atau belum. Selain hal tersebut, selama masa pandemi covid-19 pemanfaatan media sosial juga menjadi salah satu jalan agar pelayanan di perpustakaan dapat terus dijalankan. Dengan adanya pandemi covid-19 juga, kegiatan yang telah direncanakan jauh-jauh hari juga harus dipikirkan kembali oleh pihak-pihak yang bersangkutan dalam proses penyelenggaraannya. Adaptasi pada kebiasaan baru juga ternyata telah menghasilkan berbagai inovasi di tengah-tengah masyarakat. Meski begitu, kegiatan yang dialihkan menjadi kegiatan daring juga menjadi salah satu alternatif yang dapat dipilih oleh masyarakat agar dapat menekan angka penyebaran covid-19 di Indonesia.
