Abstract

Not only the health promotion about Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) examination and servical cancer but also free for VIA examination have been held in Polindes Tanjunganom, but the scope of VIA examination is still in low grade. Health Belief Model (HBM) theory is used to evaluate and explain the differences of individual perception towards preventive behaviors. This study was aimed to analyze the factors correlating with VIA examination in women by HBM. Design used in this study was cross sectional. The population was all child bearing women in Puskesmas Tanjunganom region. Total sample was 50 respondents, taken according to simple random technique. The independent variabels were perceived susceptibility, perceived seriousness, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and cues to action. The dependent variabel was VIA examination. Data were collected by using structured questionnaire and analyzed by using chi square test with level of significance of ≤ 0,05. Results showed that perceived susceptibility had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,026), perceived seriousness had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,004), perceived benefits had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,016), perceived barriers had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,016), and cues to action (p=0,000) had correlation with VIA examination. It can be concluded that HBM has correlation with VIA examination and cues to action has the strongest variabel related to VIA examination. Further studies should involve larger respondents and better measurement tools to obtain more accurate results.

Abstract

Spirituality is one of the most influential dimensions in adolescent development. Adolescent with good spiritual sees life with optimism, clean mind and soul. Environment will affect the spiritual development of adolescents. This research aimed to understanding the adolescent spirituality living around ex-localization. This research used qualitative research design of phenomenology with in-depth interview with semi structured interview and observation. Participants were junior high school teenagers, Moslems living around exlocalization, Kota Surabaya, choose by purpossive sampling. The data analysis in this study using thematic analysis with nine steps Collaizzi. result of this research got 18 theme that is adolescent perception, adolescent behavior, adolescent relationship with parents, interaction of adolescent with society, interaction of adolescent with opposite sex, adolescent knowledge, adolescent relationship with self, autonomy, feeling during worship, SWT, the purpose of human creation, religious analysis, Allah's incomprehension, the timeliness of worship, obstacles, life goals, hopes, spiritual experiences, ways of dealing with problems, lifestyles, self-image. Adolescents who live in an ex-localization will interact with peers and the surrounding community in the neighborhood. These reciprocal relationships affect the spiritual values in teenagers. The existence of the control of parents can control the interaction process that occurs between adolescents with the surrounding community who live in ex-localization so that formed the spiritual character of adolescents.

Abstract

Emergency nursing is a part of competences of profession program aimed to encourage the students to think critically to overcome the nursing problems which threaten the clients' lives. The learning method used in this stage is the experiential clinical learning. However, problems in achieving the learning outcomes still occur recently to result in low outcomes of clinical learning. This study used explanative method to describe the causal relationship among variables. This study involved all nursing students of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery of Unusa. 72 students were taken as the samples by using simple random technique. The endogenous variables were the students' characteristics, observation factors, thinking process, learning behaviors, and experiential clinical learning. The exogenous variables, on the other hand, were the outcomes of clinical learning in emergency nursing in ners students. The results of statistic test with Partial Least Square showed that all indicators and constructs variable were valid and significant. the significance test using structural model (t > 1,96), showed that the students' characteristics affected the observation factor, thinking process, and experiential clinical learning. The variable of observation factor affected the thinking process and learning behaviors. The variable of thinking process affected learning behaviors. The variable of learning behaviors affected experiential clinical learning. In addition, the variable of experiential clinical learning influenced the outcomes of clinical learning in emergency nursing in ners students. Experiential clinical learning model is categorized as a good model and has a prediction value if applied can improve learning achievement of clinical learning in emergency nursing in ners students. The dominant factors of successful experiential clinical learning are the characteristics of the students and learning behavior in ners students.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects about one percent of the population which is also commonly found in Indonesia. Based on the medical records taken from Surabaya Menur Mental Hospital in July until September 2016, the number of patients diagnosed with this disease is 439 patients. The increasing case of schizophrenia is resulted from the lack of support and role of family and their ability in taking care of patients with schizophrenia. This study used quasi-experimental design (pre-post test controlgroup design), purposed to prove the effects of video-based discharge planning using family-centered nursing on the ability of family in taking care of patients with schizophrenia. This study aimed to explore coping strategies used by parents of children with ASD. This descriptive phenomenology study used in-depth semi-structured interviews to explore parents experiences. Six participants were recruited from Pusat Layanan Autis Kota Malang by using purposive sampling. The interviews were digitally recorded and transcribed verbatim. The thematic were analyzed using Colaizi’s phenomenological method. Eight themes were extracted according to the spesific purposes: (1) caring demand; (2) social stigma; (3) level of ASD severity; (4) life stressor of parent as a caregiver; (5) constructive coping strategies: seeking for information, formal support, spiritual approach, relaxation, and positif thinking (6) destructive coping strategies: physical and verbale action; (7) positive life meaning: change of the way of thinking and behavior, and (8) negative life meaning: stress feeling of having ASD children. It can be concluded that both constructive and destructive coping strategies were used by parents when dealing with children with ASD. Futher investigation with parents living in rural areas is needed to explore their constructive coping strategies using phenomenology study design.Key words: coping strategies, parents, autism spectrum disorder

Abstract

Introduction: Pasung intervention of people with mental disorder still happened in the society. “Pasung Free Program” which has already designed in Indonesia since 2014 did not effective to wipe out Pasung behavior. There are still many people who are abused by Pasung behavior in Kulon Progo, Java Island, Indonesia with the various perception of society. The aims of this study examined the public perception of Pasung behavior in people with mental disorders. Method: This study used quantitative method by using symbolism interaction approach. There were 9 people who experienced pasung in their surroundings that became samples. Data was collected by using in-depth interviewing and socio-demographic questionnaire. Method that was used to analyze was analysis method such as 6 stages of Creswell analysis that was suitable with the used method. Result: The result of this study could become a theme. There were 8 themes came from two different perceptions. Perception of society resulted two themes namely 1) opinion about pasung behavior and 2) conclusion about pasung. External perception resulted six themes namely 1) the reason why pasung is allowed, 2) the reason why pasung is not acceptable, 3) pemasungan idea, 4) pemasungan method, 5) the society’s hope about people with mental disorder, and 6) the obstacle of health service. Conclusion: Society perception about mental disorder still not acceptable. Pasung program planning should be in line with free people with mental disorders program. The appearance of pasung behavior related to the increase of people with mental disorders.

Abstract

Prescription drugs abuse in society is becoming a serious problem in the world. This case is caused by avariety of factors both internal and external, especially cultural factors. Various efforts have been done toreduce this problem but have not showed optimal results. This research was conducted to analyze the factorsrelated to drug abuse in the society based on transcultural nursing theory. This research was conducted intwo villages in the South Kalimantan Province of Indonesia, using a correlational research design with across-sectional approach. A total of 125 respondents suspected of abusing prescription drugs, were examinedusing a questionnaire. The sample selection using simple random sampling technique. Prescription drugabuse behavior was measured using a screening test CAGE-AID. The collected data was tested using alogistic regression test. Religious and philosophical factors (p = 0.035); kinship and social factors (p =0.038); cultural and lifestyle factors (p = 0.038); political and legal factors (p = 0.031); and economicfactors (p = 0.015) have a significant relationship with the behavior of drug abuse in the society. Meanwhile,technological factors (p = 0.092) and education (0.062) have no relationship with these behaviors. Easyaccess to drugs and the acceptance of this problem in the society have led to the higher cases of prescriptiondrugs abuse. Counseling related to the use of prescription drugs as well as an increase in rehabilitation andreligious programs need to be improved to prevent further abuse.

Abstract

Indonesian Tuberculosis (Tb) case is the highest third rank in the world. It is caused by disobediencein therapy. Three factors affect medication compliance include predisposing, reinforcing and enablingfactors. This research aims to analyzed factors that affects medication compliance in Indonesian Tbpatients. The study was analytical research. The population were 119 Tb patients in Surabaya Health carecenter, Indonesia. Simple random sampling technique was used to take sample, consist of 93 respondents.The variables of this study were predisposing factors, reinforcing factors and enabling factors. The datawas collected with questionnaires and analyzed with chi square test. The study showed that all factorsrelated to incompliance medication people with Tb, namely predisposing factors: knowledge, attitude,belief (p=0.000), trust (p=0.013, and values (p=0.001); reinforcing factors: family support (p=0.034) andhealthcare personnel support (p=0.022); and enabling factors: healthcare facility (p=0.000) and physicalenvironment (p=.000). The determinants of incompliance medication people with Tb include predisposingfactors (knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, trust and values); reinforcing factors (family and healthcare personnelsupport); and enabling factors (healthcare facility and environment). Tackling incompliance medication onTb should involve private sector, family sector, society/healthcare sector and government sector.

Abstract

People with mental disorders (ODGJ) after pasung are defined as ODGJ who have been freed from confinement and referred to the hospital. One way of handling (ODGJ) is post pasung by involving mental cadres in handling violent behavior in people with mental disorders (ODGJ) after pasung. The purpose of this Community Service is to prepare soul cadres in handling violent behavior during the release of pasung. This community service was carried out in November 2019 with the target of soul cadres in Bangkalan Kokop. The team came from the Nursing Study Program at Stikes Ngudia Husada Madura, and the Faculty of Nursing, Airlangga University and the Kokop Community Health Center. This activity consists of a preparatory stage including an assessment / assessment and techniques for handling violent behavior by mental cadres in releasing pasung patients. Abstrak: Orang dengan gangguan jiwa (ODGJ) pasca pasung diartikan ODGJ yang sudah terbebas dari pemasungan dan dirujuk ke rumah sakit, Salah satu cara penanganan (ODGJ) pasca pasung dengan melibatkan Kader jiwa dalam menangani perilaku kekerasan pada Orang dengan gangguan jiwa (ODGJ) pasca pasung. Tujuan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini yaitu untuk menyiapkan kader jiwa dalam penanganan perilaku kekerasan saat pelepasan pasung. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan pada bulan November 2019 dengan sasaran kader jiwa di Kokop Bangkalan. Tim berasal dari Program Studi Keperawatan Stikes Ngudia Husada Madura, dan Fakultas Keperawatan, Universitas Airlangga serta puskesmas Kokop. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari tahap persiapan meliputi pengkajian/assesment dan tekhnik penanganan perilaku kekerasan oleh kader jiwa dalam pelepasan pasien pasung.

Abstract

Recently, the research analyzes the relationship between religion and spirituality has grown rapidly.Many mental health clinics have implemented interventions on religious and spirituality-based mental disorders. This article aimed to examine the effectiveness of handling mental-based mental disorders from various studies that have been conducted. Methods: The articles used in this systematic review were searched in the SCOPUS, PROQUEST, SPRINGERLINK, SAGE and SCIENCEDIRECT databases which is published between 2016-2020. The keyword used were "mental disorders" or "mental illness" and “spiritual” or “religious”, with the use of the phrase Boolean Operators. The articles selected according to the inclusion criteria include articles stating the effectiveness of spiritual healing for mental disorders, articles that analyzed mental illness patients in RCT, case-control studies and experiment. The articles obtained then were analyzed with the DSVIA conclusion table (design, sampling, variables, intervention and analysis). Results: There were 15 articles that meet the criteria as a systematic review.Thestudy result showed that there was a relationship between religious/spiritual involvement and mental disorders (positive). The findings from previous research indicated that religion play an important role in many situations because religious beliefs and rules affect people's lives. Conclusions:The majority of the previous literature stated a significant relationship between religious beliefs and practices and mental health.
