Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of poor student interest in social studies in junior high school Pertiwi Siteba Padang. On the basis of the problem of this research focuses on the factors that affect student interest in social studies class VII SMP Pertiwi Siteba Padang I Semester Academic Year 2013/2014. Study aimed to describe the factors that affect student interest in class VII I Padang SMP Pertiwi Siteba Padang Academic Year 2013/2014, views of the motivations and ideals, the family, the role of teachers, facilities and infrastructure, friend relationships, and mass media. Based on these problems, the method used in this study is the evaluation study. To test the validity of the data the authors used data triangulation. Then the techniques of data analysis in this study using the interactive analysis technique proposed by Huberman Milles.The results showed: the interest of students seen from motivation and ideals associated with serious social studies so that students in learning. Family at home giving attention and some are not considered thereby reducing student interest in social studies. The role of teachers in students interest is very significant, because the teacher is a person who is responsible for the learning process of students. Facilities and infrastructure available in schools to increase interest seen from the availability of books and other state facilities which are in good condition to enhance students interest in learning. Mass media influence on students interest because students. Students have good relationships with friends at school. This increase students interest in learning as socially friends can help when students have difficulties in learning. From the above description be concluded poor student interest in social studies at the high school following the Pertiwi Siteba Padang.

Abstract

The background of this study is to determine the constraints faced by students in the History of Education Program in schools implementing PPLK exercise. This study aims to gain an overview of the constraints History Education Program students in performing PPLK as it is. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Respondents in this study were students of History Education Program is implementing PPLK period from July to December 2013 in the city of Padang Private SMP. The research location is SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang, SMP Pertiwi Siteba Padang, SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang, SMP Taman Siswa Padang, SMP Adabiah Padang dan SMP Semen Padang. Collecting data in this study is the instrument through research by distributing a questionnaire to students PPLK and interviews with officials in the teacher training school. Then the data is processed by an interactive analysis techniques. From the research findings that students PPLK find internal constraints such as: (1) constraints in planning teaching (RPP) is difficult to understand the steps to make the right lesson plan for lesson plans based on the curriculum of character, (2) constraints in the mastery of teaching materials is less IPS integrated understanding of the material, (3) constraints in the selection of instructional methods chosen method is a discrepancy with the condition of the students in the school training, (4) constraint in the selection of instructional media or the media is still a lack of infrastructure to support the PBM in school training, (5) constraints in classroom management is generally unruly students and chide when PBM. Later it was found also external constraints such as the lack of activity, attendance and student socialization PPLK with teachers and school assemblies. From this study it can be concluded that the student suffered History Education Program with internal constraints which are generally caused by a lack of understanding student learning in preparing the device, while the external constraints caused by a lack of ability PPLK students in adjusting to the school environment

Abstract

Buya  Haji Abdul Salam Imam is Islamic religious leaders who started spread of Islam in Dharmasraya. Armed with knowledge gained from the Islamic boarding school and some general science at MTI Bukittinggi, then he started doing the spread of Islam, athoungh just with the simple method. In 1968 he founded the first of Islamic boarding school in Pulai village Sitiung the district. Until the end of his life, he has set up three boarding schools, the name is Pondok Pesantren Pulai, Pondok Pesantren Padang Laweh and Pondok Pesantren Sungai Duo  Dharmasraya Sitiung. It has also been estabilished, namely formal education institutions Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah. Spread of Islam done by Buya  Haji Abdul Salam Imam begins with the conventional recitation eith the recitation sitting (halaqah). Up to the spread of modern managed.

Abstract

This study pupouse to describe  the increase student’s motivation in learning Social Sciences (IPS) by using the method of recitation in the classroom of VIII / A  of Junior High School 1 North Siberut. Recitation is giving the task to students. In this case the author gives the task to make a summary and conclusions of matter. Types of  this research is an action research, then carried out on each cycle of the planning procedure, action, observation and reflection. This research / study was done in two cycles,  each cycle  implemented of  two meetings. The object of research/ study  is class VII/A of Junior High School 1 North Siberut on 2013/2014  in the second semester. The data collected is related to the level of student motivation. Taken from the observation sheet by using a checklist list and the percentage formula. The research showed that by using the method of recitation in learning of Social Sciences ( IPS) especially oin  history subjects can increase students motivation.

Abstract

This research was partly motivated by the history teacher is still teaching method based on applying the old habits , the teacher is more likely to use lecture and question and answer , and the teacher used to give the record a lot of the students at SMAN 2 Bayang District South coast . On the basis of the problem of this research is focused on the implementation of learning in introductory activities , core activities and events covering the history of learning social studies in SMA 2 Bayang South Coastal District . This study aims to determine the implementation of core activities , ie the Elaboration of activities undertaken in the process of teaching social studies teacher at SMAN 2 history Bayang South Coastal District . Based on these problems , the type of research used in this study is descriptive evaluative study , to test the validity of the data the authors used data triangulation . Then the techniques of data analysis in this study using the interactive analysis technique proposed by Huberman Milles , which consists of data collection , data reduction , data display and conclusion drawing / verification .The results showed , that the history teacher at SMAN 2 Bayang South Coastal District . Teachers have understood the purpose of elaboration activities , but can not fully implement learning activities in accordance with the purpose of elaboration .The results of the study concluded that the implementation of the teaching and learning process in the core activities in the process of elaboration by historical subject teachers at SMAN 2 shadow has not been implemented in accordance with existing guidelines according Permendiknas 41 in 2007 .

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning process is centered social studies teachers , students only listen to what diterang by teachers and less involved in the learning process . Besides the lack of variation in the use of learning methods that fun to be able to attract the attention of students to learn and can enable students to learn. This leads to low yields social studies class VIII SMP N 4 Sutera districts Pesisir Selatan Academic Year 2013/2014 . One strategy that can improve student learning outcomes is the adoption of a strategy Genius Learning . The purpose of this study was to compare the results with the application of social studies students Genius Learning Strategies better than the results of student learning using lecture learning in social studies class VIII SMP N 4 Sutera districts Pesisir Selatan  . This study is experimental . The study was conducted in SMP N 4 Sutera in August-September first half of the school year 2013/2014 . The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP 4 Sutera enrolled in the first semester of academic year 2013/2014 . Sampling was done by cluster sampling in order to obtain class VIII1 as the experimental class and the control class as a class VIII2 . The results showed that students learning outcomes IPS experimental class higher than the control class . Experimental class scored an average is 77.52 while the control class scored an average of 70.86 . hypothesis test with the t-test obtained thitung price ( 2.64 ) > t table ( 1.67 ) so that Ho refused and H1 accepted , this means the hypothesis is accepted . It can be concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes of students who use the learning method Genius leraning the lecture method of teaching social studies in the eighth grade students of SMPN 4 Sutera districts Pesisir Selatan. Experimental class scored an average of 77.52 is higher than the results of grade social studies students gain control of the average value of 70.86 . Implementation of this strategy will help students to remember , increase understanding and provide new insights on the subject matter . So the application of learning methods Genius Learning in the learning process can improve learning outcomes .

Abstract

This study pupouse to describe the competence of professional teacher social sciences (history) in Junior High School 1 Lembah Gumanti. There are twelve teacher professional competences according to Hamalik O. Emar. In this case the author do observation to the classroom in teacher explain the lesson. After that the author do interview. This research/study was done in three meetings. The object of research/study is the social sciences (history) teachers, the students and the headmaster of Junior High School 1 Lembah Gumanti. The data collected is related to observation study and the interview. The technique of data collecting by collected data, reduction data, display data and make the conclusion. Taken from the observation sheet by using a checklist list. According to the result of the research that the social science teacher of Junior High School I Lembah Gumanti are Professional teacher because they are can do the twelve Professional competence said Hamalik O. Emar. The research showed that by doing the twelve teacher Profesional competence in learning of social Sciences (history) can increase the competence of Profesional teacher.

The thirdinterpretation, istointerpretthe factswiththe factthatoneway of connectingwithotherfactsin accordancewith thehistorical eventsthatincludes the time, place, andevents, the fourthhistoriography, ispresentingresearch resultsin the form ofthesis.The results showed that, first a desire to split the district in Solok regency and form the District Headman Tigo as the definitive districts due to lack of government attention to this area . State of the separated region because there is no adequate transportation access make this isolated area, so it appears the economy, education , health and pilitik . Tigo District Headman two officially bloomed in 2001 . Third , after the subdistrict headman bloomed Tigo , which has lasted for a decade that has not received attention from the government entirely is still being isolated districts in Solok regency . ABSTRACTThis research represent research of study evaluate with analysis qualitative with research in SMPN 14 Field. As for informan in this research cover teachers of IPS amounting to 2 people, student and headmaster of observation technique, document study and interview through RPP. Accuracy of data tested by using data triangulation, of gathered to be data to be analysed with model of interaktif which consist of data collecting, data discount, presentation of data and withdrawal of conclusion. From result of research indicate that, style variation of teach that is: 1). Variation of Voice, pursuant to performed by research is writer seen that variation of voice taken as by teacher in SMP N 14 Field uncommitt better. This matter because of taught items many and ran against time by general examination which closer, 2). Concentration of attention of student emphasis, pursuant to performed a by research is writer seen that emphasis which is learn to uncommitt better. This matter because of teacher assume that emphasis do not too important, because each;every student have guide-book in the form of LKS (Spread sheet Student), 3). Silence dumbness of teacher, pursuant to result of conducted by research is writer, hence silence or dumbness of teacher have walked better, 4). Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe how social studies teachers in the use of instructional media in SMPN IPS 9 Padang. This study aims to determine the type of tool used by teachers in the teaching and learning of history in the SMPN IPS 9 Padang and whether the media are used in accordance with the material presented. Ideally media that can be used in teaching and learning history is a map, images/photographs and documentary films. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with research sites in SMPN 9 Padang. The informants in this study include social studies teachers, amounting to 3 people, the principal and several students through observation, interview and document through the RPP. The accuracy of the materials research was tested by using triangulation, the materials research were analyzed with an interactive model that consists of data collection, data reduction , data display and conclusion. The results showed that the use of tool in teaching social studies in the history of the SMPN 9 Padang generally not been implemented to the fullest, because of the lack of tool  provided by the school. While factors - factors that cause teachers not using media in teaching social studies in the SMPN 9 Padang, among others: the lack of tool provided, even though the teacher is equipped with sufficient material and mature science in college, it can not guarantee that teachers can deliver material with more extensive and complete. Limitations of the media provided by the school teachers also resulted in less use of media in accordance with the material presented. From the above it can be concluded that the use of instructional media in SMPN 9 Padang IPS is not maximized because the teachers do not understand the function of the media and the lack of media in schools.  Key Words: Media, Teaching and Learning
