Abstract

The contents of this thesis concern the existence of ornament Kumudawati at singup Pendhapa Ageng Mangkunegaran, Surakarta. This thesis attempts to identify, comprehend, and explain: Firtsly, life influence of Mangkunegaran palace before all to concepts think Mangkunegara VII; second, about concepts think Mangkunegara VII in initiative making of ornament kumudawati at singup Pendhapa Ageng Mangkungaran; and third about symbolic meaning consisting barbed in ornament kumudawati with Java culture order. Bearing in mind that culture is an element which influences the existence of ornament kumudawati, an overall understanding of the form, role, and meaning of ornament kumudawati is based on a cultural approach, that is a way of looking at culture as a system. Within this framework, culture is construed as aconcept which is used for analysis and at the same time as a model for study. The problems posed in the research for this thesis placed more emphasis on discovering the process and meaning, and for this reason, the paradigm of approach and strategy of reseach used was qualitative descriptive research. A phenomenological perspective with ethnographical dimensions was used. As such, this research is of an emic nature, as it is based on a means of emphatic understanding or verstehen within the framework of indigenous knowledge which is expressed in the from of “thick description”.Keywords: simbolism, ornament kumudawati, Mangkunegaran

Abstract

Red guava fruit is one of superior fruit in Karanganyar regency especially subdistrict of Ngargoyoso. Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur and UD. Putra Jambu has few processed products of red guava fruit since 2005. Red guava fruit juice has not product of this UKM. Readiness of 375 tones/year of red guava fruits only processed as ice cream, stick, paste, kacang nyelip and peyek of red guava leaves. Limitedness of process and packaging process is the main obstruction of diversification of red guava fruit products. Process and packaging process with pectinase enzyme application were introducted by IbM team. Enzyme were used to clarify fruit juice (reduce viscosity and turbidity and increase yield) in order to ease filtration process. Process technique was  appropriate to GMP standart. Introduction included packaging machine, cup sealer and pasteurization to ensure safe products. Product marketing management was improved by new marketing atribut and economic analysis of new products. This effort could increase turnover of UD. Putra Jambu (PUJA) and kelompok tani candi makmur also reinforce economic of Karanganyar regency.

Abstract

Culture is dynamic in the form of humans and vice versa with a value system. One of them is Pawukon, originating from the science of titen and then manifested in the manuscript. In the case of the RadyaPustaka Museum’s collections, inseparable from the history and myths of Watugunung. Interaction and interpretation of analysis are used in historical studies, influences on Javanese people, symbols of Pawukon in the manuscript and the importance of its presence in contemporary society. Mandhasiya and Kuruwelut were chosen as sample of 30 wuku and provided guidance on the existence of the manuscript.Keywords: Kuruwelut, Mandhasiya, Symbol, Wuku

Abstract

The article with the title Iconography Study of Work Dullah “Army Practice of Foreign Occupation“ intended to seek the textual and contextual meaning of painters Dullah. With the approach of iconography will be obtained meaning that deeper and broader than a work of art. Through this approach, the artwork will be a major concern in reviewing the history of art, nevertheless alsonecessary to understand the contextual and symbolic aspects. At the time of independence, Dullah many immortalize the events related to the struggle of Indonesian nation in seizing and maintaining independence in his works. Dullah even led a group of young artists to paint directly events duringthe occupation of Yogyakarta as an effort documenting the history of the national struggle. One of his very powerful is the “Army Practice of Foreign Occupation“ that depicts cruelty colonizers against the indigenous population. In this case the work Dullah Practice Foreign Occupation Army will findits context as understood by tracing the history of socio-cultural-years 1940-1950an. From the work we can find out how the socio-historical situation of the community when the colonial era.Keywords: Dullah, Iconography, Army Practice of Foreign Occupation.
