Abstract

Abstract Autonomic neuropathy in diabetes mellitus impact the feet to losing their natural ability to moisturize the overlying skin, so that the skin of the feet becomes dry, cracked, and prone to infections (ulcers). This activity aims to enable people with diabetes to be able to do foot exercises and cutaneous stimulation with VCO so that the skin moisture in their feet increases. Foot skin moisture was measured by a Skin Moisture Analyzer at ten right foot points before and after four weeks of diabetes people doing foot exercises and cutaneous stimulation with VCO. Average foot moisture before foot exercises and cutaneous stimulation with VCO of 38.93 then increased to 49.55. Paired t test proved that there was a significant increase in foot skin moisture after activity (t = -4.66 and significance value = 0.00). All people with diabetes are advised to continue their activities.Key words: Skin Moisture, Foot Exercises, Cutaneous Stimulation

Abstract

This research was observational analysis with case control approach using purposive sampling technique. The sample collected was 134 respondents consist of 67 cases and 67 controls. Effect of independent and the dependent variable in this research conducted with chi squre test and multiple logistic regression. The results of this research indicated that there is a association between nutritional status (OR=5.167), low salt diet (OR=21.147), antihypertensive medication adherence (OR=11.659), and physical activity (OR=5.273) with controlled blood pressure (p=0.000). On the other hand, the variable smoking habit (p=0.070, OR=0.863) and stress level (p=0,863, OR=1.127). The most dominant variable was the lowsalt diet. Based on multivariate analysis was also obtained by the equation Y= -5.315+ 2.326X1+2.756X2+2,225X3+2,585X4. The probability of achieving controlled blood pressure in hypertensive patients without four factors above is 0.5%.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to know the influence of foot gymnastics toward skin moisture on the feet. The method of the research is “Quasy Experiment” with Pre-posttest design without control group each 13 sample was taken by simple random. Skin moisture feet before foot gymnastics = 27.91 % ± 6.28 and after foot gymnastics for six month = 36.04 % ± 8.70. The paired t test can be concluded that foot gymnastics can increase skin moisture on the feet of patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Chronic hyperglycolia in people with diabetes results in changes in intra-cell biochemical homeostasis so that the selendothel and nerves are disturbed. Disorders of blood vessels and nerves result in decreased blood supply to the legs. Decreased blood supply to the legs is characterized by a decrease in the value of oxygen saturation. Efforts are needed to improve oxygen saturation in people with diabetes to prevent diabetic foot disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Foot SPA with the help of wood reflection on oxygen saturation in people with diabetes in South Denpasar. The study was conducted with a quasi-experimental method, pre-test post test with control group design. The study used 2 (two) groups, group I was given treatment in the form of Foot SPA with the help of wood reflection every 2 days 15-30 minutes for 6 weeks, group II (control group) were given foot exercises every 2 days 15-30 minutes for 6 weeks. Saturation data were collected with digital oximetry at the beginning of the study and one day after the treatment period ended. Data were analyzed by paired and unpaired different tests. The results of the statistical independent test of the t test that have been done show that the value of p value is 0,000 (p value 0.05). This shows that there is a significant difference in oxygen saturation of the legs in the diabetics between the treatment groups that are given SPA reflective wooden foot SPA with a control group that is only given diabetic foot exercises. This can also be seen from the difference in the average oxygen saturation of the feet with diabetes in the treatment group by 4.52% and the control group by 0.28%. The results of the analysis showed that the administration of reflex wooden aids on foot was more effective in increasing oxygen saturation of the feet compared to only foot exercises in the control group.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the effect of foot elevation to the blood pressure of the patients with spinal anesthetic. The study design was pre-experimental with static group comparison. 30 samples was chosen by consecutive sampling, 15 samples as control group and 15 samples as experiment group. Result of this study showed the difference of blood pressure before and five minute after spinal anesthetic. Mann-Whitney statistical test was used to analyse the hypothesis of Systolic Blood Pressure mean differences. Independent T-Test was used to analyse Diastolic Blood Pressure and Mean Arterial Pressure mean difference. The result show that the p value was 0,001 for SBP, 0,000 for DBP and 0,000 for MAP. The conclusion shows that there was the significant effect of foot elevation to the blood pressure for spinal anesthetic patients at operating theater Sanglah hospital.

Abstract

Chronic hyperglycemia in diabetes mellitus nonenzymatic glycosylation and excessive glucose to intracellular diffusion leads to structural abnormalities and capillary function as well as peripheral nerve injury. Nerve cell injury and supported by capillary dysfunction lead to neuropathy. Sensory neuropathy results in decreased leg sensation that is easily injured. Recovery of neuropathy is done by improving blood circulation repairing peripheral nerves. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diabetic foot spa on foot sensation in diabetics. The study was conducted with pre test post test with control group design on 45 people divided into 25 people into treatment group and 20 men men in the control group taken with simple random technique at Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat 2017. Treatment group given treatment in the form of diabetic foot spa covers gymnastics foot, foot soak and massage with VCO for 4 weeks, while the control group get foot exercises done by puskesmas. Foot sensation data is measured by Semmes-Weinstein monofilament. The results showed that foot spa ektof increase foot sensation in people with diabetes. It is recommended that people with diabetes can do foot spa in the form of foot exercises, soak feet and dimasase with VCO regularly.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of ROM exercise with rubber ball on hand muscle strength of non hemorrhagic stroke patient. Research with pre-test design post-test with control group. Selection of nonprobability samples of purposive sampling type, 46 samples in RSUD Klungkung and RSUD Bangli. Average hand muscle strength before ROM training with rubber ball 4.5130 after 8.1696, average hand muscle strength before ROM practice without rubber ball 5.7261 after 6.9609. The result of Paired T test of treatment group was obtained p = 0,000 α (α = 0,05) and control group result p = 0,000 α (α = 0,05). The result of analysis of Independent T test value p = 0,000 0,05, concluded that there is influence of ROM exercise with rubber ball to hand muscle strength of non hemorrhagic stroke patient.

Abstract

This study analyzed the influence of heredity and waist circumference of the blood glucose profile (fasting, 2 hours PP, when blood glucose) in high school teenagers. Analytic survey research aimed at observing and analyzing the relationship between variables. The research design used cross sectional design. The linkage between genetic factors with fasting blood sugar levels, indicated by (1) Sig. alpha (0848 0.05). This means that Ho is accepted, genetic factors do not affect fasting blood sugar levels. (2) Sig. alpha (0.002 0.05). This means that Ho is rejected, genetic factors do not affect glucose levels darah2 pp hours. (3) Sig. alpha (0517 0.05). This means that Ho is accepted, genetic factors do not affect blood glucose levels for a while. The linkage between waist circumference factor with fasting blood sugar levels, indicated by (1) Sig. alpha (0327 0.05). It means that Ho is accepted, waist circumference do not affect fasting blood glucose levels. (2) Sig. alpha (0689 0.05). This means that Ho is accepted, waist circumference does not affect blood glucose levels 2 pp hours. (3) Sig. alpha (0322 0.05). This means that Ho is accepted, waist circumference does not affect blood glucose levels for a while.
