Abstract

ABSTRAK Cucumber is an annual plant that is pervasive belonging to Cucurbitaceae family are widely used as food , cosmetic and drug industry - abatan . Low productivity and quality of cucumber caused less intensive farming techniques , one of which depends on fertilization and treatments performed . The initial step was  to  produce  healthy  seedlings  with  optimal  growth  is  to  find  a  suitable growing media for planting cucumbers . To find the appropriate planting medium with the plant roots need to combine the organic material and adapted to the type of plant . In connection with that have done research that aims to find a suitable planting medium for the growth of cucumber plants . The research was conducted in the village Kajai , Talamau District , West Pasaman . This type of research is experimental , with a completely randomized design ( CRD ) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications . The treatments were A ( soil as a control ) , B ( garden soil + sand ) , C ( garden soil + manure ) , D ( cow manure + sand ) , E ( garden soil + sand + cow manure ) . The data were analyzed with analysis of variance and followed by LSD test at 5% level . The results showed that the use of a combination  of  growing media  can  increase  the percentage  of  live  seeds  , number of leaves and plant height . The best growth results found on the treatment E.

Abstract

ABSTRACTWatermelon (Citrullus vulgaris L.) is one fruit crop is popular because it tastes sweet, crisp and a lot of water content. Requirement of watermelon continues to increase while the production is still low.  Economic value of watermelon is quite high and is expected to increase revenues society therefore to increase the production of watermelon cultivation needs to be done. Watermelon cultivation using organic bio fertilizers other environmentally friendly can also add soil organic matter and very simple acquiring. The objectives of this research is to determine the effectiveness of Bio organic fertilizer for crop production of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris L.)  which includes: fruit weight, fruit diameter and number of pieces. This research has been conducted on farmers field Tunu River Village Sub Domains West Coast South Coastal District from April to June 2013. This type of research is experimental, this study using Cluster Randomized Design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 6 repetitions, each treatment is a control (Urea, NPK, SP36 and KCL), B (Bio Organic 2%), C (4% organic Bio), D (6% organic Bio) parameters measured were fruit weight, fruit diameter and number of pieces. Data were processed using analysis of variance and continued DNMRT test at level 5%. The results were analyzed by analysis of variance after directing that the use of Bio organic fertilizer is not a real effect on crop production covering a total of watermelon fruit, fruit weight and fruit diameter compared dangan use of inorganic fertilizers. From the research results it is advisable for farmers to use organic bio fertilizer in crop cultivated watermelon pupuknya for more economical and environmentally friendly.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAnnona muricata L. is a kind of plant growing and fruiting perennially if the water  demond  is  apparently  sufficed.  A.  muricata  L.  seed  has  averagely  less germination power, however it can be improved by the induction. Coconut water is proved to induct that power because it contains some essences supporting seed growth: auxin, gibberellind and cytokinins. This research was carried out at 13rd January until25th   February in Physiology Laboratory of Biology Departement Unversity of Padang.This is a descriptive research which used six concentrates of coconut water are: 0%,20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% with every concentrate is put on four plastic scuttles. The observation was held six week to find out days when seed started growing and amount of seed germinating. The result showed that germination in 60% appeared in19th      day.  The  writer  summarizes  that  coconut  water  dad  not  be  able  to  inductgermination of A. muricata seed. The result evidenced that from 120 seeds germination, there werw only 7 seeds started growing.

Abstract

ABSTRACT             Chili of cultivation will be attracted for most of farmers because the highest economic value. It influences by the quality of chili it self. Nowadays, the quality of chili’s cultivation is still low. One of the way to solve this problem is partenocarpy. This research aims ti know the effect some cytokinin concentrate to establish the chili’s fruit (Capsicum annum L.). the research has done on February until August in 2013 in Green House of Biology, Science and Math Faculty, UNAND by using RAL (Random design complete) with 6 treatmenst and 4 repetations. The control without, cytokinin concentrate 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm, and 100 ppm. The result of this research shows that giving concentrate 80 ppm is the best in avolding seeds with average 5,25 seeds, 100 ppm for size, diameter, and weight of the chili.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLeaf lectuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is one of the plant have high nutricion, especially mineral to accelerate absorption to decease fever. The research aim to know the effect of paddy straw bokashi fertilizer on growth and yield of leaf lectuce in pollybag. This research was conducted in farmer field in Kayu Tanduk village, X Koto district, Tanah Datar regency from May 2013 until August in 2013. The research was design of this research was a experimental research, with Randomized Completely Design (RCD), with 6 treatment and 5 repitition. Each treatment A control (300 gr manure), B 100gr of paddy straw bokashi/pollybag, C 150 gr /pollybag, D 200 gr/pollybag, E 250 gr/pollybag, F 300 gr/pollybag. To analyze the date, used ANOVA and BNT 5% standard. The result of this research, shows that the paddy straw bokashi fertilizer input have significant effect on fresh weight of plant. But not significantly for quantity of leaf in 5% standard. The researcher conclude that straw was given with 150 gr/pollybag doce forward leaf lectuces saw increasing growth and result.

Abstract

Bunga melati putih memiliki potensi ekonomi dan social yang besar bagi masyarakat Indonesia khususnya dan dunia umumnya. Kebutuhan melati putih terus meningkat, namun produksi bunga melati putih di Indonesia baru mampu memenuhi sekitar 20% dari kebutuhan melati di pasaran dunia. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya untuk meningkat kuantitas dan kualitas produksi bunga. Pemanfaatan Zat Penghambat Tumbuh merupakan salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan produksi bunga melati putih. Salah satu Zat Penghambat Tumbuh yang biasa digunakan adalah paclobutrazol. Sehubungan dengan itu maka dilakukan penelitian dengan judul “ Induksi Pemekaran Bunga (Anthesis) Tanaman melati putih (Jasminum sambac L. W. Ait) dengan pemberian paclobutrazol pada beberapa konsentrasi. “ Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai Juni di greenhouse STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. Rancangan  percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan.  Terdiri dari perlakuanA= control, B=200 ppm, C=400 ppm, D= 600 ppm, E= 800 ppm, E= 1000 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian paclobutrazol pada beberapa konsentrasi tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap waktu muncul kuncup bunga, waktu mekar bunga (anthesis), dan jumlah bunga melati putih

Abstract

Male banana is one of the varieties of bananas that becomes a main commodity of West Sumatra. As a main commodity, then growth, quality and productivity need to be maintained and improved. Soil microbial technology application, such as the development of biological agents of Fungi Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF), is one of the strategies need to be tested and developed to support the development of a national program of healthy banana seedlings as well as issues of pressing environmental preservation based fertilizers and chemical pesticides. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and tissue culture and greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Andalas, Padang. This research used an experimental method arranged in a factorial completely-randomized design consisting of two factors with three replications. Factor A: Dose mycorrhizae (A0 = no inoculation, A1 = 5 g inoculant FMA PU10, A2 = 10 g inoculant FMA PU10, A3 = 15 g inoculant PU10, A4 = 20 g inoculant PU10. Factor B: Timing of phosphate (B0 = 0 HSI inoculant FMA PU10 B1 = 10 HSI inoculant FMA PU10, B2 = 20 HSI inoculant FMA PU10, B3 = 30 HSI inoculant FMA PU10, B4 = 40 HSI inoculant FMA PU10). The research shows that inoculation of inoculant FMA on different doses give a significant effect on the percentage of male banana seedling of root colonization. Where dosing 10 grams (A2) shows that the highest root colonization percentage compared with other treatments equals to 53. 33%. The provision of phosphate on 30th day of  HSI Mycorrhizae shows that the highest percentage of colonization is 45.55%.

Abstract

Penelitian   ini   bertujuan   untuk   mengkaji   pemanfaatan   monosodium glutamat dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman pakcoy (Brassica chinensis L). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, dimana A: control, B- 5 g MSG, C= 10 g MSG, D=15 g MSG, dan E = 20 g MSG. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  secara  statistik  monosodium  glutamat  memberikan  pengaruh  terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan panjang daun pakcoy (Brassica chinensis L). Akan tetapi peningkatan konsentrasi MSG lebih dari 15 g/tan dapat menurunkan rata- rata tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan panjang daun.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji   pengaruh pemberian air   sisa cucian beras terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman pare (Momordica charantia L.). Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2014 di Desa Koto Berapak Kecamatan Bayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.Rancangan   percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian air cucian beras pada  konsentrasi  100%  memberikan  pengaruh  terhadap  tinggi  tanaman  dan jumlah daun namun secara statistik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun tanaman pare.

Abstract

Komba-komba (Eupatorium odoratum) merupakan salah satu jenis tumbuhan yang banyak terdapat di daerah Sulawesi Tenggara dan memiliki khasiat sebagai penolak  nyamuk (repellant). Terdapat dua jenis tumbuhan yang dikenal sebagai komba-komba, yaitu komba-komba berbunga putih dan komba-komba berbunga kuning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui metabolit sekunder yang terdapat dalam ekstrak etanol daun komba-komba berbunga putih dan berbunga kuning dan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antinyamuknya. Daun komba-komba diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96% kemudian didelipidasi menggunakan n-heksan. Ekstrak terdelipidasi diidentifikasi metabolit sekundernya melalui skrining fitokimia secara kualitatif menggunakan reagen spesifik. Sedangkan uji aktivitas antinyamuk ekstrak terdelipidasi menggunakan konsentrasi 5%, 6%, dan 7% untuk menentukan daya proteksinya selama 6 jam. Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan jenis metabolit sekunder dari ekstrak etanol daun komba-komba berbunga putih dan kuning sama, yaitu alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, dan tanin. Uji aktivitas menunjukkan semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak semakin tinggi aktivitas antinyamuk yang dihasilkan. Ekstrak daun komba-komba berbunga kuning dan berbunga putih memiliki aktivitas antinyamuk yang sama, dimana ekstrak 7% memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan dalam bentuk sediaan karena memiliki aktivitas awal 100% dan aktivitas hingga jam ke-6 sebesar 73%.Kata kunci: antinyamuk, Eupatorium odoratum, komba-komba, metabolit sekunderÂ
