Abstract

The company's Palm Oil Mill (PKS) that produces the main products are Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) while the byproducts are solid waste in the form of fiber, shells, and Empty Fruit Bunches. Palm oil mill solid waste in the form of fiber and shells has the potential to become fuel for Steam Power Plants (PLTU). Fresh Fruit Bunch (TBS) Material Balance from Palm Oil Mill production output: Shells: 7%, Fiber: 13%, Empty bunches: 22% which can generate the total available Heat Calor of 28.936×106 Kcal / hour, and Total Total Power can be generated as much as 3.9 MW from the Palm Oil Mill Solid Waste which produces a thoughtput of 50 Tons / hour.

Abstract

The use of composite materials in Indonesia, as a nonmetal alternative material has begun to increase. Composite use has grown from water tanks from fiberglass materials, household appliances, children's toys, sports equipment, furniture/interior design to automotive components and aircraft. Many of the advantages of this composite material include hand, strong, anti-corrosion, finely tuned finish. Its mild nature has a direct impact on energy savings. The prospect of composite materials as a non-metal alternative material is rapidly growing and its use. Various types of reinforce used can be influenced by the prices available, so seek alternatives as a commonly used glass fiber substitute woven rowing. The substitute used is a sack of gourds of the same kind as woven rowing, from which the same type of fiber is tried to find its strength by undergoing a pull test. And as a result of the test the mateial can know its power.

Abstract

The bulldozzer is seen as the most efficient heavy equipment unit for mining, specifically dozzing and ripping material. The purpose of this study was to analyze damage due to cracks in the cooler afterwards which caused dust and dirt to enter the air intake system which caused excessive piston, piston ring and cylinder wear liners in the Bulldozer. The research method was conducted using 8-step troubleshooting analysis. The results and discussion are damage due to cracks in the after cooler which causes dust and dirt into the air intake system which causes the piston, piston ring and cylinder liner to wear out excessively. The piston, piston ring and cylinder liner have excessive scratching and wear, so the compression pressure that should be compressed inside the combustion chamber experiences a leak where the air enters the crankcase chamber.

Abstract

One of the main factors in securing an electric power system is the earthing system. The earthing system in the generating unit is closely related to the switchyard. Switchyard earthing system analysis is done by adjusting the grid distance and ground rod length to get the most optimal quality and cost combination. The definition of optimal conditions in this case is limited to circumstances where there is a combination of quality that does not exceed the technical tolerance threshold and has cost efficiency. The analysis of the switchyard earthing system was taken as a case study. Calculation results and analysis concluded that the grid distance of 23 m and the length of the 6 m ground rod is the best choice in the optimization of this earthing system by meeting the safety quality criteria for earth resistance is Rg = 0.13806 Ω less than 0.5 Ω with a minimum cost of Rp. 1,220,104,730.Technical standards are carried out based on IEEE Std 80-2000. Calculations for obtaining technical parameters and costs are carried out one-by-one in the range of grid spacing and length of certain ground rods to determine the optimum point using MATLAB-GUI as a programming tool and MATLAB R2011a as a tool mathematical computing.

Abstract

Quality is a factor that determines the success of a product penetrate the market, in addition to other major factors such as price and service. Quality products will have great competitiveness and high quality level. Products produced from extracts of natural ingredients, one product is Black Tea extract. To maintain customer satisfaction, the company tries to emphasize the value of DPU that occurs. This study aims to analyze the defect reject from the production of Black Tea Extract for a year using SIPOC diagram (Supplier Input Process Output) and Pareto diagram. Result of research is total production during that period equal to 358 batch x 300 Kg = 107400 kg, total reject of 78 batch x 300 kg = 23400 kg, with total reject for Black tea extract 21,79%. Can be known in the process of Black Tea extract reject largest in reject brix out of spec for 93.67% and Reject Tannin out of spec 6.33%. So it can be concluded that the dominant reject of the production process for black tea extract products is reject brix out of spec.

Abstract

Bearing is a mechanical element that resembles a loaded shaft, so that rotation or back and forth motion can be smooth, safe and long lasting. Bearings should be sturdy and durable to allow the shaft and other machine elements to work properly. If the bearing is not working properly then the performance of the whole system will decline or not work properly. For this reason, materials from high-carbon steel bearings should be durable and durable. To obtain the desired properties of the metal, the Heat Treatment process, especially the outer and inner ring, is used. Hardness testing of the outer and inner ring of the bearing is performed after the Heat Treatment process. Testing the violence using the Digital Rockwell Hardness Tester, the value of the violence can be read directly on the scale of the tool. The Heat Treatment process of the outer and inner ring of the bearing can produce the mechanical properties that the manufacturer wants, namely Rockwell hardness 62-64 HRC. If the result of the hardness test is in accordance with the factory standard, then the outer and inner ring meet the manufacturer's quality requirements.
