Abstract

Liquid wax (wet wax) is a source of heat energy and lighting produced from palm oil to provide illumination where needed. The need for candles is used for lighting the environment, the place, and the heating of the objects for need. The manufacture of liquid candles is to provide the base oil of crude palm oil mixed evenly in the melting point of solid paraffin. Paraffin and CPO are melted together and placed, then cooled. The wax ignition process produces heat and light. Results that can be shown with a comparison between palm oil and solid paraffin will produce hardness, texture, and flame ignition. With 50 grams of paraffin, 50 gr CPO and 1 kg of oxygen (1: 5) of the fuel of 250 gr O2, will produce 1300 gr CO2, 1175gr H2O, -1487,5 gr O2 and 940 gr N2. Different paraffin granules, will produce the same product in energy balance, while the value of N2 remains. Experimental value from mixing CPO and paraffin by 50 gr: 50 gr yielding entropy generation (S gen) and CPO wax exudo of 257.16 kJ / kmol.K and 77,918.67 kJ/kmol and its value decreases based on paraffin administration

Abstract

Refrigeration is the process of absorption of heat from the room with high temperature and transfer the heat to a certain medium. Application of refrigeration is used to maintain the quality of a product, foodstuff, medicine, air conditioning and others. In the world of refrigeration fisheries are used to maintain the quality of the catch so that its economic value and nutritional value is maintained up to the hands of consumers. In general, the main component of refrigeration is divided into five namely compressor, condenser, receiver, expansion valve, evaporator. One of the components that has a role in heat absorption is the evaporator. Evaporator function for evaporation process of refrigeration material. The low-pressure refrigeration vapor is sucked from the evaporator into high-pressure, high-temperature refrigeration vapor. Then through the condenser the steam is condensed (heat exchange) so that the refrigerant vapor becomes high-pressure and normal temperature refrigerant liquids. Heat exchange can be through three ways: by air, water or air + air. After that the liquid refrigerant dropped the pressure on the expansion valve so that the high-pressure refrigerant liquid becomes low. Then on the evaporator component refrigerant material evaporated, in this process the absorption of heat in the product occurs so that the product can be cool temperatures even frozen. The larger the heat is absorbed in the evaporator, then the work on the refrigeration machine is also getting bigger. Based on research in one trip, the heat load at KM. Natuna source reached 147,716.9 kJ / hour. Associated with the fuel consumption of the generator drive motor in a single trip KM. Sumber Natuna reached 2.14 tons.

Abstract

Lubricating oil is a liquid used as a lubricant in a machine to reduce wear due to friction, and as a coolant and silencer, but high temperatures on the engine will damage the lubricant. When the lubricant power is reduced, the friction will increase and then the heat will arise more and more so that the temperature continues to increase. Engine oil should have high viscosity or viscosity, not inflammable not easy to oxidize and not frothy due to high rotation that occurs inside the machine. other than that lubricating oil serves to protect the inside of an engine parts from rust or corrosion caused by liquids in lubricants and acid properties which are the result of high temperature combustion in the machine. The purpose of this research is to know the viscosity and content contained in lubricant oil of Meditran sx plus SAE 15W-40 in hours of use 50,100,150 and 200 hours of machine work with laboratory test method. The results obtained in the laboratory test viscosity of new lubricant oil is 14.55 cSt to the use of lubricating oil 50 hours of machine work, then the use of lubricating oil 100 hours working machine, there has been a decrease in viscosity from 13.15 cSt to 12.85 cSt and on usage lubricating oil 150 working hours fixed viscosity of 12.85 cSt then on the use of lubricating oil 200 hours of work decreased viscosity to 12.62 cSt.
