Abstract

Objectives of this research are to describe the gender dynamics, the influence of lecturers to the student’s interaction and the influence of classmates to the students’ interaction in speaking interaction. The population of this research are the third semester students in Graduate School, Ahmad Dahlan University. Triangulation method is used to address the same set of research. The research found that personalities of group members appeared to affect group dynamics positively. Then, an authoritarian teaching has a negative effect on the classroom climate. The lecturers’ interaction is perceived to affect the students’ interaction in the classroom and on their learning.

Abstract

The researchers intended to know what strategies were used by male and female students in learning speaking, especially at the tenth grade of SMKN Karangpucung and what dominant strategy was used by male and female students in learning speaking. The main question to be answered in this research was concerned with the strategy used by male and female students and what the dominant strategy used by male and female students. The population in this research were 320 students at the tenth grade of SMKN Karangpucung consisting of automotive and accountancy programs, and 32 students were taken as the sample. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions to determine the students' strategies used by every male and female student. This research showed that male students tended to use metacognitive strategies and female students tended to use affective strategies. Therefore, the researchers concluded that metacognitive strategies are more likely to be used by male students and affective strategies are more likely to be used by women students. Surprisingly, metacognitive strategies were dominated by male students, while affective strategies were dominated by female students.

Abstract

Upaya Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dan Kemampuan Potensi Akademik bagi Dosen perlu dilakukan guna membantu mempersiapkan dosen yang akan mendapatkan Sertifikat Pendidik. Semakin meningkat jumlah dosen yang mendapatkan sertfikat pendidik akan memberikan dampak yang baik bagi suatu Perguruan Tinggi. Hal ini juga dapat membantu meningkatkan Proses Pembelajaran yang bermutu. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini menjadi penting dilakukan karena adanya dosen yang tidak dapat memenuhi standar nilai untuk lolos dalam tahapan seleksi setifikasi pendidik.. Kendala yang ditemukan dilapangan adalah rendahnya skor TKDA DAN TKBI yang diperoleh dosen pada saat mengikuti tes, sehingga kalkulasi nilai tidak dapat mencapai standar kelulusan seleksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah dan latihan. Ada tiga tahapan yang perlu dilaksanakan dalam pelatihan ini, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap akhir. Hasil yang didapatkan dari pelatihan ini adalah adanya peningkatan nilai pada saat sebelum diberi materi dan sesudah diberikannya materi pelatihan. Setelah pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dan juga nilai Kemampuan Dasar Akademik.

Abstract

Kelurahan  Tanjung  Baru memiliki potensi terutama untuk usaha rumahan yang belum maksimal dalam pengelolaannya. Hal ini di sebabkan dan tergambar dari tingkat intelektual masyarakat yang berpendidikan diatas SLTP dan mayoritas penduduk kelurahan Tanjung Baru pekerjaan sebagai buruh dan sebagian warga memiliki usaha rumahan seperti pengrajin oven, pembuat kemplang, pembuat kerupuk dan pembuat tahu. Dalam meningkatkan usahan, warga keluarahan tanjung baru belum.Hal ini sangat berpotensi meningkatkan ekonomi warga apabila dikelolah dengan baik dan meningkatkan penjualan melalui konsep digital marketing yang memiliki banyak platform yang sangat bermanfaat untuk pelaku usaha rumahan.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu faktor yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dari kehidupan seseorang, baik dalam keluarga, masyarakat, serta bangsa dan negara. Memasuki tahun 2021 Indonesia masih dalam masa pandemi covid-19. Virus ini telah menyebar hampir keseluruh penjuru Indonesia yang tentunya memberi berbagai macam dampak bagi masyarakat. Salah satu sektor yang terkena dampak dari virus ini adalah sektor pendidikan sehingga kegiatan belajar yang awalnya dilaksanakan secara luring menjadi pembelajaran daring. Bebrapa siswa dan orang tua mengalami kesulitan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran daring khususnya dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris, sehingga pentingnya memunculkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa kegiatan bimbingan belajar gratis pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris khususnya bagi siswa SD, SMP dan SMA dilingkungan RT.005 kelurahan Gunung Terang. Metode yang digunakan adalah teknik survey terlebih dahulu ke Kelurahan Gunung Terang, kemudian dilakukan perekrutan peserta bimbingan belajar gratis yang akan menjadi sasaran.. Didapatkan jumlah peserta yang berminat mengikuti kegiatan ini terdiri dari 13 siswa. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah kegiatan bimbingan belajar gratis bahasa inggris dan secara keseluruhan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berjalan dengan lancar dan memberikan efek yang cukup baik bagi para siswa dilingkungan kelurahan Gunung Terang khususnya di RT 005.

Abstract

Indonesian students studying both at home and abroad, especially those taking the political negotiation course, are very much interested, but they do not understand the many cultural factors that must be taken into account when negotiating with other people from different backgrounds. This study aims to provide an overview of the understanding of Indonesian students of negotiation in intercultural settings. This study presents a literature review with primary data on articles, magazines, reports, and theories. This study indicates that a good cross-cultural understanding can increase the percentage of success in the research negotiation process. Cultural barriers such as the lack of foreign language skills in communication, a sense of ethnocentrism, and prejudice can hinder the study negotiation process.

Abstract

Abstract A difficult reading material has become one of the student problems in comprehending the text. The application of using Authentic Reading Materials is needed for students. This research aims to know the effectiveness of using Authentic Reading Materials towards the students reading comprehension mastery. This experimental research used quantitative method and queasy experimental design. The research conducted at the sixth grade of English Education Department of Nahdlatul Ulama Lampung University which has the population 8 classes. The sample used in this research is 20 students as experimental class and 20 students as control class. The researcher uses purposive sampling as technique sampling. Based on the result of T test formula, tratio is 4,61 and ttable is 2,44. It means that tcount > ttable. The result of this research indicates that using Authentic Reading Materials is effective towards the students reading comprehension mastery at the sixth grade of English Education Department of Nahdlatul Ulama Lampung University

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan karena masih banyaknya guru-guru khususnya di SMA Negeri 2 Negeri Katon yang masih kurang pengetahuan tentang aplikasi pembelajaran untuk mendukung pembelajaran dalam jaringan. Tujuan dari pengabdian adalah membantu permasalahan Guru SMA Negeri 2 Negeri Katon dengan memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan buku digital dengan aplikasi flipbook maker. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian pembuatan media pembelajaran dengan menggunakan aplikasi flipbook melalui tahapan yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 3 November 2021, dari pukul 08.00 sampai dengan 12.00 WIB. Guru SMAN 2 Negeri Katon Pesawaran yang mengikuti pelatihan ini sebanyak 18 orang guru. Hasil pengabdian yang telah dicapai yaitu kegiatan ini telah mampu meningkatkan kemampuan guru untuk bisa membuat buku digital dengan aplikasi flipbook maker sehingga pembelajaran bisa menjadi lebih inovatif.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the stakeholders' understanding of the IAI An Nur Lampung Postgraduate Doctoral Program stakeholders towards multidisciplinary Islamic studies, what the problems faced by the IAI An Nur Lampung Postgraduate Doctoral Program in implementing Multidisciplinary Islamic Studies and the design of appropriate multidisciplinary Islamic studies to be implemented in the Postgraduate Doctoral Program. IAI An Nur Lampung. This type of research is descriptive and qualitative with data sources from online media, print media, journal articles, and books. This study found that most of the stakeholders of the Postgraduate Doctoral Program of IAI An Nur Lampung have a good understanding of inter-and multidisciplinary Islamic studies; problems in the implementation of inter- and multidisciplinary Islamic studies exist in four aspects: student aspects, lecturer aspects, curriculum aspects, and carrying capacity and policy aspects. Therefore, further studies and developments are needed in various aspects to realize a multi-talented university. The transformation of STAI An Nur into IAI An Nur Lampung has changed the epistemology of science. These changes need to be translated and poured into various levels of academic practice so that the academic community at IAI An Nur Lampung can understand and implement these changes and expectations. Studies at IAI An Nur Lampung must also be oriented towards the institute's new paradigm. One of them is the Postgraduate Doctoral Program, which seeks to develop inter, multi, and transdisciplinary Islamic studies at the doctoral program level.
