Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in conceptual understanding of students who are taught using the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transfering (REACT) model with students who are taught using conventional models and to describe the improvement in conceptual understanding of students in class XI SMA Kemala Bhayangkari on Acid Basa material. The form of research used was a quasi experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design research design. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIA SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya for the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 62 students. The sample selection technique was carried out by simple random sampling. The data collection technique used was a test of students' conceptual understanding. Data analysis used Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene statistic, U-Mann Whitney and N-Gain calculation. The results of data analysis using the U-Mann Whitney test obtained an asymp.sig (2-tailed) value of 0.208, which means that there are differences in conceptual understanding between students taught using the REACT model and students taught using conventional models.. Based on the N-Gain calculation, it is known that the REACT model can improve students' conceptual understanding by 0.42 in the moderate category.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik berbasis Predict-Observe-Explain pada sub materi pergeseran kesetimbangan dan menentukan kelayakan LKPD tersebut berdasarkan penilaian para ahli dan respon peserta didik. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RD) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang telah dibatasi menjadi model ADD, yaitu Analysis, Design, dan Develop tanpa melakukan tahap Implement dan Evaluate. Subjek penelitian adalah LKPD dan subjek responden adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya. Alat pengumpul data dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi kelayakan LKPD dan angket respon peserta didik. Hasil validasi pada penilaian kelayakan materi, bahasa, dan penyajian dianalisis dengan rumus CVI memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 1 yang menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Predict-Observe-Explain berada dalam kategori validitas sangat tinggi. Hasil uji angket respon peserta didik diperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 76.03% yang menunjukkan bahwa respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD berada dalam kriteria baik. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Predict-Observe-Explain sangat layak dan baik digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran kimia pada sub materi pergeseran kesetimbangan.

Abstract

Learning in the understanding of acid-base chemistry in schools needs to be improved so research to determine differences in learning outcomes between students taught using environmental approaches and methods lectures in class XI SMA on acid-base subject needs to be done. In this study, using a quasi-experimental method using a data collection tool achievement test essay form. The test statistic results of the post-test learning has been obtained Asymp value. Sig (2-tailed) 0,026 that showed the differences between students' learning outcomes with a control experimental class with effect size of 0.63 or much influence difference with the percentage 23.57% which indicated that the learning environment approach can improve learning outcomes of high school students.

Abstract

Abstract: The difficulty in getting clean water from the residents of Southeast Pontianak's Bansir Darat requires information regarding the iron content are contained in wells in the area. Determination of iron content using the Atomic Absorption Spectophotometer (AAS) method is based on the atomization of iron compounds in solution in a low pH (pH 2-5). The iron compound will be atomized with flame on AAS to produce emission rays that produce a wavelength of 248.3 nm for Fe which is captured by the detector which is then digitally converted to produce iron content by comparing it with the appropriate iron standard series in the sample content range, 0.00; 0.20; 0.80; 1,2; and 1.6 mg / L Fe. The results of the analysis show that the depth of the well in the Southeast Pontianak area of Bansir Darat resulted in differences in iron content. For shallow wells 3 m have a content of 0.91 mg/L, while wells with a depth of 22 m show an iron content of 0.09 mg / L. The deeper the well is from the ground, the iron content is lower than the shallow well.Keywords: Analysis of iron content, well water, AAS, Bansir Darat of Southeast PontianakAbstrak: Kesulitan air bersih dari warga Bansir Darat Pontianak Tenggara, memerlukan informasi terkait kandungan besi yang terkandung dalam sumur-sumur di wilayah tersebut. Penentuan kandungan besi menggunakan metoda Atomic Absorption Spectofotometer (AAS) berdasarkan pada atomisasi dari senyawa besi dalam larutan dalam suasana pH rendah pH 2-5. Senyawa besi akan teratomisasi dengan Nyala pada AAS  menghasilkan sinar emisi yang menghasilkan panjang gelombang 248,3 nm untuk Fe yang ditangkap detektor yang selajutnya dikonversi secara digital menghasilkan kandungan besi dengan membandingkan dengan deret standar besi yang sesuai dalam range kandungan sampel yaitu 0,00; 0,20; 0,80; 1,2; dan 1,6 mg/L Fe. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kedalaman sumur di wilayah Bansir Darat Pontianak Tenggara menghasilkan perbedaan kandungan besi. Untuk sumur dangkal 3 m memiliki kandungan 0,91 mg/L, sedangkan sumur dengan kedalaman 22 m menunjukkan hasil kandungan besi 0,09 mg/L. Semakin dalam sumur dari permukaan tanah kandungan besinya lebih rendah daripada sumur yang dangkal.Kata-kata kunci: Analisis kandungan besi, air sumur, ASS, Bansir Darat Pontianak Tenggara

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of feasibility and response of students and educators to the e-supplement Kimiapedia with a scientific literacy approach on hydrocarbon material at SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak. This research uses research and development methods, and the research model is adopted from analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, the stages carried out to the development stage. The feasibility level of the e-supplement chemistrypedia approach to scientific literacy on hydrocarbon material gets a value of 96% with a very feasible category which is the accumulation of the average validation of linguists, media and teaching materials experts and material experts. The limited-scale response test result gave students’ response value of 74% in which was categorized as a good category. Further bigger scale response test showed similar 75% in  good category. In addition, teacher response test showed very good-category in both value with 94,7% and 95.7%. This result implied that the material was acceptable and can be applied in chemistry learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah melakukan bimbingan teknis instrument penilaian pendukung perkuliahan berbasis masalah dan proyek untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan dosen-dosen di Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Kalimantan Barat. Pengabdian ini berawal dari dari kesepakatan antara kerjasama antara dua Universitas dengan bersepakat mengambil satu sasaran yang perlu dibahas dan disajikan dalam instrument penilaian saat ini adalah instrument yang berbasis masalah atau proyek yang tersusun dengan format yang sama dalam satu perguruan tinggi. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan pengabdian ditempuh melalui pendekatan bimbingan teknis yaitu bimbingan yang diberikan oleh tenaga ahli atau professional dibidangnya dengan tujuan: 1) meningkatkan kualitas sember daya manusia; 2) memperbaiki koordinasi kerja; 3) mengoptimalkan kompetensi dosen; dan 4) peningkatan kinerja insitusi. Tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan langkah-langkah: 1) identifikasi masalah pembelajaran terkhusus kebutuan evaluasi pembelajaran; 2) menyesuaikan evaluasi pembelajaran dengan capaian pembelajaran; 3) menetapkan perangkat asesmen berdasarkan soal-soal bertipe hots; 4) membuat instrument pembelajaran dalam satu format yang sama dengan melakukan bimbingan teknis penyusunan. Dari hasil pengabdian diperoleh sebagai berikut: 1) pelaksanaan pengabdian dosen-dosen di universitas nadhlatul ulama yang bertujuan melakukan bimbingan teknis penyusunan instrument penilaian pendukung perkuliahan berbasis masalah dan proyek; 2) membuat format penilaian yang serempak dan disepakati dan kemudian menjadi dasar bimbingan teknis penyusunan; 3) terdapat produk instrument penilaian berdasarkan format penilaian yang tersusun dan mata kuliah yang diampu. Kata kunci: instrumen penilaian; bimbingan teknis; berbasis masalah dan proyek ABSTRACTThe purpose of this community service activity is to carry out technical guidance on problem-based and project-based lecture supporting assessment instruments to improve the understanding, knowledge, and skills of lecturers at Nahdlatul Ulama University, West Kalimantan. This dedication stems from an agreement between the collaboration between the two universities by agreeing to take one target that needs to be discussed and presented in the current assessment instrument, which is a problem- or project-based instrument that is structured in the same format in one college. The method used to achieve the goal of dedication is taken through a technical guidance approach, namely guidance provided by experts or professionals in their field with the objectives of: 1) improving the quality of human resources; 2) improve work coordination; 3) optimizing the competence of lecturers; and 4) increasing institutional performance. The stages of implementing activities use the steps: 1) identification of learning problems, especially the needs of learning evaluation; 2) adapting learning evaluations to learning outcomes; 3) determine the assessment tools based on hot questions; 4) make learning instruments in the same format by carrying out technical guidance on preparation. From the results of the dedication, the following were obtained: 1) the implementation of the dedication of lecturers at Nadhlatul Ulama University which aims to provide technical guidance for the preparation of problem-based and project-based lecture support assessment instruments; 2) create an assessment format that is unanimous and agreed upon and then becomes the basis for technical guidance for preparation; 3) there is an assessment instrument product based on the structured assessment format and the subjects taught. Keywords: assessment tools; technical guidance; problem-based and projects

Abstract

Abstract: The nutritional content contained in the porang plant, as is the case with other root crops, also contains carbohydrates, contains fat, protein, minerals, vitamins and fiber. This study aims to obtain data on the average sodium mineral content in Porang plants. The analytical method uses an atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) in flame emission mode. Sample solutions containing sodium were stored in polyethylene bottles. Sodium has a maximum light emission at a wavelength of 589 nm, where the working procedure is that the sample is nebulized into a gas flame to allow controlled excitation to occur. The sodium resonance spectral line at 589 nm is isolated with an interference filter or with a light dispersing device such as a prism or grating. The intensity of the emitted light is measured with a photomultiplier, or photodiode. The intensity of light at 589 nm will be roughly proportional to the concentration of sodium. From the results of the analysis using the AAS method, it was found that the sodium content in the porang tuber sample was obtained from Nganjuk district, East Java, with a sodium content of 51.25 mg per 1 kg of porang tuber flour or 5.125 mg sodium per 100 g of porang tuber. This content is lower than the sodium content in corn, but higher than the sodium content in rice.Keywords: Analysis of sodium content, porang plantsAbstrak: Kandungan nutrisi yang terdapat di dalam tanaman porang, seperti halnya dengan tanaman umbi-umbian lain juga mengandung karbohidrat, lemak, protein, mineral, vitamin dan serat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mendapatkan data kandungan mineral natrium rata-rata pada tanaman porang. Metoda analisa menggunakan spektrometer serapan atom (AAS) dalam mode emisi nyala. Larutan sampel yang mengandung natrium disimpan dalam botol polietilen. Natrium memiliki cahaya emisi maksimum pada panjang gelombang 589 nm di mana prosedur kerjanya sampel dinebulisasi menjadi nyala gas agar terjadi eksitasi yang dikontrol dengan garis spektrum resonansi natrium pada 589 nm diisolasi dengan filter interferensi atau dengan perangkat pendispersi cahaya seperti prisma atau kisi-kisi. Intensitas cahaya emisi diukur dengan photomultiplier, atau photodiode. Intensitas cahaya pada 589 nm kira-kira  akan sebanding dengan konsentrasi Natrium. Dari hasil analisis melalui metoda AAS diperoleh kandungan Natrium dalam sampel umbi porang yang diperoleh dari kabupaten Nganjuk Jawa timur dengan  kandungan natrium sebesar 51,25 mg per 1 kg tepung umbi porang atau 5,125 mg natrium per 100g umbi porang. Kandungan ini lebih rendah dibanding kadar Natrium di dalam jagung, tetapi lebih tinggi dari pada kandungan natrium dalam beras.Kata-kata kunci: Analisis kandungan natrium, tanaman porang

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep sangat penting bagi siswa agar mengerti pada materi yang dipelajari dan lebih mudah untuk mengikuti pembelajaran pada tingkatan yang lebih tinggi. Struktur atom memuat materidasar kimia untuk memahamimateri kimia yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi Struktur Atom. Keterbaharuan dalam peneltian ini yaitu menggunakan indikator pemahaman menurut Anderson & Krathwohl dan kriteria pemahaman yang diadaptasi dari penelitian Akkuzu dan Uyulgan (2016). Metode penelitiannyaadalah deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 01 Ngabang, sampel penelitian adalah 35 orang siswa kelas X MIPA A.Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik pengukuran berupa tes tertulisberbentuk esai. Dilakukan analisis data secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan sebanyak 52% siswa yang menjawab dengan benar pada konsep partikel penyusun atom yang menunjukkan kategori Menunjukkan Pemahaman (MP) dan sebanyak 73% siswa tidak memberikan tanggapan pada konsep sifat keperiodikan unsur yang menunjukkan kategori Tidak Ada Tanggapa (TA).Kata Kunci: deskripsi, pemaham konsep, struktur atomDescription of Understanding Concepts in Atomic Structure Matter in Class X of SMA Negeri 01 NgabangAbstractConceptual understanding is very important for students to understand the material being studied and it is easier to follow learning at a higher level. Atomic structure contains basic chemical material to understand higher chemical matter. This study aims to describe students' conceptual understanding of Atomic Structure material. The update in this research is to use understanding indicators according to Anderson & Krathwohl and understanding criteria adapted from research by Akkuzu and Uyulgan (2016). The research method was descriptive quantitative which was carried out at SMA Negeri 01 Ngabang, the research sample was 35 students of class X MIPA A. The data collection technique was a measurement technique in the form of a written test in the form of an essay. Data analysis was carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that as many as 52% of students answered correctly on the concept of atomic composing particles which indicated the Demonstrated Understanding (MP) category and as many as 73% of students did not respond to the concept of periodicity of elements which indicated the No Response (TA) category.

Abstract

A good understanding of the three levels of chemical representations is required to understand the concepts of chemical bonding. However, most students are difficult to understand chemical bonding topics due to the abstract concepts and the learning resources used don’t fully integrate the three levels of chemical representations. Therefore, learning resources that cover all of the chemical representations and visualize the abstract concepts are needed. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of validity and responses of teachers and students to the developed chemical bonding module based on multiple representations assisted by AR  technology. This type of research is research and development that refers to the ADDIE instructional design model. The instrument used in this research is the sheet of validity and the response questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using percentage analysis techniques. The product of this research is a chemical bond module based on multiple representations and an augmented reality chemistry simulator of chemical bonding application. The results of the expert's validation show that the average percentage of content, media, and language validity respectively are 99, 95, and 97% with very valid criteria, so that it can be used in the learning process. In addition, teachers and students gave a very good response to the product with a percentage of 90 and 87% consecutively. These findings indicate that the modules assisted by AR technology could support the chemistry teachers to explain the chemical bonding topic and help students visualize the abstract concepts of chemical bonds

Abstract

ABSTRAKInovasi lahir dari ide kreatif yang dihasilkan dari pemikiran kritis terhadap permasalahan sekitar dan ketangkasan dalam membaca peluang untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan melatih  kreativitas professional muda di Vihara Vimalakirti dalam membuat lilin aromaterapi berbahan dasar minyak jelantah, soy wax dan minyak atsiri sehingga membuka peluang untuk ide bisnis bagi pengusaha pemula. Metode pendekatan dan partisipasi yang dilakukan berupa tutorial, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Tutorial dilakukan oleh narasumber dan fasilitator yang merupakan dosen dan mahasiswa prodi pendidikan kimia FKIP UNTAN. Pendampingan intensif pembuatan lilin aromaterapi dilakukan oleh fasilitator dan peserta pelatihan. Evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan kuisioner melalui google form. Berdasarkan evaluasi yang dilakukan, sebayak 94,7% peserta pelatihan menyatakan bahwa pelatihan ini sangat mereka butuhkan dan bermanfaat bagi peningkatkan keterampilan mereka. Sebanyak 94,7% juga mengatakan bahwa materi dan metode yang disampaikan oleh narasumber dan fasilitator sangat baik, jelas dan runut, sehingga memberikan kemudahan untuk memahaminya. Dengan demikian, PKM yang dilakukan prodi pendidikan kimia FKIP UNTAN berhasil memberikan wawasan secara keilmuan dan keterampilan bagi peserta pelatihan. Kata kunci: kreativitas; lilin aromaterapi; minyak atsiri; minyak jelantah; soy wax. ABSTRACTInnovation is born from creative ideas that result from critical thinking about surrounding problems and skill in reading opportunities to solve a problem. This community service aims to provide knowledge and train the creativity of young professionals at the Vimalakirti Temple in making aromatherapy candles made from used cooking oil, soy wax, and essential oils to open opportunities for business ideas for novice entrepreneurs. Approach and participation methods are in the form of tutorials, mentoring, and evaluation. Tutorials were conducted by resource persons and facilitators who were lecturers and students of the Chemistry Education Study Program, FKIP UNTAN. Facilitators and training participants carry out intensive assistance in making aromatherapy candles. The implementation of activities is evaluated using a questionnaire through the Google form. Based on the evaluation, 94.7% of the training participants stated they needed this training, which helped improve their skills. As much as 94.7% also said that the materials and methods presented by the resource persons and facilitators were excellent, explicit, and sequential, making them easy to understand. Thus, the PKM conducted by the FKIP UNTAN chemistry education department succeeded in providing scientific insight and skills for the trainees. Keywords: creativity; aromatherapy candles; essential oils; used cooking oil; soy wax
