Abstract

Pothole Detection System on Pedesterian using Image Processing Techniques. The pedestrian areas in Indonesia are still far from optimal in facilitating the users or the pedestrians. Potholed pedestrian areas are found in many parts of the street. This issue can harm pedestrians, especially blind people. For this reason, research has been carried out to create a system that can detect and estimate hole distances by processing images using mono cameras that can help blind people. The methods used to detect holes are the Threshold + Blob Analysis method and the HSV method. The obtained results indicate the level of accuracy of hole detection using the Threshold + Blob Analysis method is better than the HSV method. The average accuracy level of Threshold + Blob Analysis is 88.91%, while for the HSV method is 86.82%.

Abstract

Nowadays, dorsal hand vein recognition is one of the most recent multispectral biometrics technologies used for the person identification/authentication. Looking into another biometrics system, dorsal hand vein biometrics system has been popular because of the privilege: false duplicity, hygienic, static, and convenient. The most challenging phase in a biometric system is feature extraction phase. In this research, feature extraction method called Local Line Binary Pattern (LLBP) has been explored and implemented. We have used this method to our 300 dorsal hand vein images obtained from 50 persons using a low-cost infrared webcam. In recognition step, the adaptation fuzzy k-NN classifier is to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed approach is feasible and effective for dorsal hand vein recognition. The experimental result showed that LLBP method is reliable for feature extraction on dorsal hand vein recognition with a recognition accuracy up to 98%.

Abstract

Dalam menentukan penyakit gigi yang diderita beserta pengobatannya, ketidakhadiran seorang dokter gigi mengakibatkan proses penyembuhan menjadi lama atau fatal bagi pasien. Tidak hanya itu, keterbatasan seorang dokter gigi dalam mengidentifikasi penyakit juga menjadi penyebab terhambatnya proses penyembuhan. Selain itu posisi yang jauh dari tempat pelayanan kesehatan juga ikut menentukan lama tidaknya proses penyembuhan tersebut. Salah satu solusi untuk masalah tersebut adalah pembuatan sistem pakar untuk diagnosa penyakit gigi berbasis website dinamis. Sistem pakar ini merupakan salah satu bentuk implementasi sistem berdasarkan pengetahuan pakar yang berbasis website dinamis sehingga dapat diakses berbagai perangkat dan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat luas. Sistem ini dibuat dengan menggunakan metode certainty factor. Metode ini cocok digunakan untuk sistem pakar yang mengandung ketidakpastian karena perhitungan menggunakan metode ini dalam sekali hitung hanya menggunakan dua kriteria sehingga hasil perhitungan lebih akurat. Penelitian ini menggunakan MYSQL untuk pengolahan database dan bahasa pemrograman web yakni PHP dan JavaScript. Sistem pakar ini dapat memberikan informasi dan edukasi kepada masyarakat mengenai penyakit gigi yang diderita dan memudahkan masyarakat untuk melakukan konsultasi secara realtime tanpa harus mendatangi pakar gigi (dokter) secara langsung.

Abstract

This study was aiming at helping visually impaired people to detect and estimate the fire distance. Blind people had difficulty knowing the existence of fire at a safe distance; hence the possibility of burning could occur. The color models and blob analysis methods were used to detect the presence of fire in the blind path. Before the fire detection stage, the cascade of the HSV and RGB color models was applied to segment the reddish fire color. The size and shape of a dynamic fire were the parameters used in this paper to distinguish fire from non-fire objects. Changes in the area of the fire object obtained at the Blob analysis stage per 10 frames were the main contributions and novelty in this paper. After the fire is detected, the calculation of the fire distance to a blind person was completed using a pinhole model. This research used 35 data videos with a resolution of 480x640 pixels. The results showed that the fire detection system and the distance estimation achieved an accuracy of 88.86% and the MSE of 0.0358, respectively.

Abstract

Active contours, or snakes, are computer-generated curves that move within images to find object boundaries. They are often used in computer vision and image analysis to detect and locate objects, and to describe their shape. Thus active contour can be used for object segmentation, especially the lesion in medical images. This paper presents the application of active contour models (Snakes) for the segmentation of lesions in dental panoramic image. The aim is to assist the clinical expert in locating potentially cyst or tumor cases for further analysis (e.g. classification of cyst or tumor lesion). In order to apply the snake formulation, color images were converted into gray images. Then, with correct parameters, we can create a snake that is attracted to edges or termination. Initializing contour, choosing parameter value and number of iteration affect the behaviour of the snake in a particular way. Using Receiver Pperating Characteristic (ROC), an average accuracy rate of 99.67 % is obtained. Examples of Snake segmentation results of lesions are presented.

Abstract

Microorganisms such as bacteria are the main cause of various infectious diseases such as cholera, botulism, gonorrhea, Lyme disease, sore throat, tuberculosis and so on. Therefore, identification and classification of bacteria is very important in the world of medicine to help experts diagnose diseases suffered by patients. However, manual identification and classification of bacteria takes a long time and a professional individual. With the help of artificial intelligence, we can effectively and efficiently classify bacteria and save a lot of time and human labor. In this study, a system was created to classify bacteria from microscopic image samples. This system uses deep learning with the transfer learning method. Inception V3 architecture was modified and retained using 108 image samples labeled with five types of bacteria, namely Acinetobacter baumanii, Escherichia coli, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Propionibacterium acnes and Veionella. The data is then divided into training and validation using the k-fold cross validation method. Furthermore, the features that have been extracted by the model are trained with the configuration of minibatchsize 5, maxepoch 5, initiallearnrate 0.0001, and validation frequency 3. The model is then tested with data validation by conducting ten experiments and getting an average accuracy value of 94.42%.

Abstract

Komunitas Sahabat Penyu di Dusun Mampie Kabupaten Polewali Mandar (Polman) adalah kumpulan masyarakat yang aktif dalam kegiatan pelestarian penyu dengan mengumpulkan telur penyu, melakukan penetasan, perawatan serta rehabilitas penyu guna menjaga populasi penyu yang semakin berkurang di daerah tersebut. Hal ini bertujuan untuk melestarikan penyu mengingat semakin berkurangnya populasi penyu yang ada di Polman khususnya di Dusun Mampie. Kegiatan yang dilakukan melalui pendekatan ke sejumlah pemuda dan masyarakat lainya yang selama ini aktif menjual telur penyu ke pasaran untuk tidak lagi memperjual-belikan telur tersebut. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat akan manajemen konservasi penyu, proses monitoring jumlah dan perkembangbiakan telur penyu yang masih bersifat tradisional serta permasalahan pendanaan yang masih sangat minim merupakan masalah yang dihadapi oleh Komunitas Sahabat Penyu. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini menawarkan solusi terkait peningkatan keterampilan para anggota komunitas dalam hal Teknologi Informasi untuk peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terkait konservasi penyu. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pengenalan keterampilan dan pelatihan Teknologi Informasi kepada komunitas Sahabat Penyu tentang pembuatan sistem informasi berbasis website dengan media Wix. Media ini adalah sebuah aplikasi yang telah banyak digunakan untuk membuat website mulai dari blog, online shop, corporate website, serta situs edukasi. Selain itu, pelatihan desain media periklanan sederhana juga diberikan, yaitu pembuatan brosur, pamphlet, poster dan flyer. Dengan keterampilan yang diperoleh dari proses pelatihan Teknologi Informasi yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdian Departemen Teknik Informatika dan Departemen Teknik Elektro Universitas Hasanuddin maka komunitas Sahabat Penyu dapat menciptakan sistem informasi komunitas yang dapat berfungsi sebagai ajang promosi komunitas untuk menjaga eksistensi sehingga otomatis dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pelestarian populasi penyu dan meningkatkan donasi kepeduliaan masyarakat terhadap penyu.

Abstract

The application of digital technology can provide solutions to community problems, especially in the education sector. But there are still many teachers whose teaching abilities have not been supported by these digital technologies. SDN 14 Bonto-Bonto located in Pangkep Regency is the place for the digital learning training process as well as a form of community service carried out by the team of the Informatics Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. This activity is also a venue for socialization and introduction of research results from lecturers and students. Digital learning models can be divided into 2 namely electronic based learning and internet based. Some digital learning methods taught include Augmented Reality, Mind Mapping, and Educational Games. Augmented Reality is a technology that involves overlaying computer graphics in the real world, where three-dimensional virtual worlds can be brought into real-world environments in real-time. Learning to use AR makes students' visual appeal in learning as well as educational games. Mind Mapping is a learning method in the form of visualizing ideas, thoughts or plans to form interconnected diagrams. With this method, students are trained to think structured and easy to solve problems. Mind mapping application itself has been widely available and can be downloaded for free. The training in developing digital learning media that is held is expected to help teachers and students understand the concepts while at the same time foster motivation in learning. This service activity also adds insight to teachers about new learning methods that can make the learning process more enjoyable.

Abstract

Mathematics is an important subject taught in schools. Learning mathematics gives students' the ability to reason and develop their mindset. However, many students feel less interested in mathematics. This results in students’ poor learning achievesment. One solution to increase student interest in learning is to use tools that utilize technology. The community service carried out at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Hidayah Makassar aims to provide new insights for students regarding digital learning methods and materials at school. It also aims to foster motivation to learn mathematics, which is often seen as a fearful subject by students. The implementation of this community service is divided into 2 stages, which are the stage of socializing the technology-based learning methods, in this case using android smartphones, and the training stage on how to use the Mathology educational applications. This community service is also a venue for disseminating the research regarding the application ofinteractive learning media from Department of Informatics Engineering, Engineering Faculty, UNHAS.
